The teachers are genuinely attentive and proactive. When our child had a minor incident at school, staff followed up promptly and worked with us on a plan going forward. When she first started, she only spoke Chinese, and the teachers took the initiative to learn some simple Chinese words to communicate with her and help her settle in -- that kind of thoughtfulness really touched us. Lucy has also been wonderful about celebrating small milestones -- potty training progress, new words, little achievements -- and letting us know right away, always with such patience and care. A special thank you to Catalina, who is our daughter's favorite teacher. You can feel her genuine love for the children every single day. Catalina even gifted us a children's book she wrote herself, "As a Little Child: Come Into the Agape Boat" -- such a thoughtful surprise that showed us she's not only a child development expert with over 20 years of experience, but also a heartfelt storyteller. That gesture really reflects how much she cares about the kids. The curriculum keeps things engaging with themed weeks (dinosaur week, science week, water day) and special family events like Donuts with Dad and the Mother's Day brunch. Safety is clearly a priority too -- fire drills are handled properly and any building/facility issues (like internet outages) are communicated to parents immediately. The school opens at 7:30 am which is helpful for parents like myself who need time be at work by 8 am. They provide snacks/lunch and help the kids go to sleep for nap time. There are 2 concerts each year that your child gets to participate in, and they have parent teacher conference so that you can be engaged with your child's academic journey. The school is gated which gives a great sense of security and safety for your child and the staff. They are open during the summer and have a summer program. Each week there is a special guest/event such as a bubble lady, puppet show, bird show, bike-a-thon and a carnival day. This is truly a great school to consider if you're looking for flexibility and support.

In the short amount of time, he has learned a tremendous amount, made many friends, and developed social skills. He is making incredible progress in his reading and maths, and comes home curious and full of questions about the topics he's learned at school (such as geography or science). It is within the elementary school and has a great playground/outdoor space to run around in. The teachers are firm, but loving, which is needed in this kind of an area. I've seen some preschool teachers be too soft on kids (I guess different teaching techniques) and the kids run the room, not the teachers. My daughter has learned SO MUCH and enjoys her time to play with friends. Only con: Wish the program lasted a little longer than 3 hours. Seems like I drop her off, go home to get ready and I have to go pick her up again. When you add in pickup and drop off time, its less than 3 hours. Even 3 1/2 hours would be better.

We scoured Yelp for some answers and landed on Sunshine School. Sunshine made that transition so much easier for us. I still remember our very first tour. One of the students came up and befriended Ellie while we were there -- and the two of them ended up being friends all the way through their last day of preschool together. It feels like such a perfect little snapshot of our experience at Sunshine. The teachers truly cared about Ellie, and she loved every one of her teachers from the very beginning. They put so much effort into creating fun projects and activities for the kids, and we loved watching how much she learned and grew there. Special shoutouts go to Ms. Lu, Ms. Yula, Ms. Jenny, Ms. Carole, Ms. Summer, and Ms. Kelly! We also really appreciated the Mandarin immersion. I don't speak much Mandarin myself (my high school Mandarin course is but a distant memory here), but Ellie's dad and grandparents do, so having her encouraged to hear, learn, and actually use the language at school has been such wonderful exposure for her. She came home singing songs, using words and phrases, and clearly feeling comfortable with the language in a way I never could have given her on my own. More than anything, Sunshine became a place where we felt comfortable leaving our daughter every day -- which, for an anxious first-time preschool parent, is probably the highest compliment I can give. And I think the most telling review is this: we'll be back. We have a younger child, and when he's old enough, we fully plan to enroll him at Sunshine too. My child is currently in the Intermediate program, and I've noticed a lot of growth from clearer speech and broader knowledge to more confidence in making friends and trying different activities. The classrooms are always clean and thoughtfully designed for little ones, which makes the environment welcoming and safe. While daily updates from teachers were more detailed in earlier programs, in Intermediate we still receive a nice rundown at pickup, which helps us stay connected with how the day went. The teachers here are truly the highlight. They are approachable, caring, and empathetic. My child often talks about Miss Ashley and Miss Rajani, and I can see the effort they put in every day. It's reassuring as a parent to feel that the children are in kind and capable hands. Most importantly, my child enjoys going to school and looks forward to meeting friends and teachers, which speaks volumes about the nurturing environment.

My two children were bit 5 times out of 16 school days, in one month…read more I asked for a plan of action and Principal Heather Bilbro said no, and I just need to "trust" them. She told me a child needs to bite five consecutive days to be even considered for suspension. Come to find out that the aggressor was affiliated with the school and there were other undocumented aggressive behaviors. The principal straight up lied and had inept responses to my concerns. They now have a Type B citation, "a violation that, if not corrected, may an immediate risk to the health, safety or personal rights of clients" from the Department of Social Services. As a former childcare provider myself--at another Nobel Learning Communities school no less--it was extremely disappointing to see the incompetent leadership fail the amazing teachers and rupture family relationship on the ground. Oh and good luck at the next open house, because we waited since the night before at the advice of the principal and somehow they managed to be as disorganized as possible when they arrived in the morning and forced people to take a photo alongside those who got waitlisted?? Like what?? The sudden surge of 5 star reviews from burner accounts is also telling of their priorities.
