I am a regular wine club member and I visit frequently. Note, when you call their customer service number, no matter when, no one ever picks up the phone , no matter what extension offered!! My husband and I were are on our way home from train town after visiting the our grand kids, and I knew I had a pick up. Called at least 7 times with no answer tried every extension with no success! We dropped by , checked in at the reception and was directed to the wine bar where we explained that we were doing a pick up. We were offered a glass of bubbly and a seat. We requested another glass of bubbly to taste a bottle to purchase . At that point the bartender from across tue bar loudly said said we were cut off.... ? We had 1/2 glass of bubbly unfinished while sitting. Absolutely no reason for her comment and no excuse or an apology. Needless to say, Monica in management was very apologetic for her employee's behavior. Love the bubbly they serve and atmosphere always is a good experience sharing the winery with our friends the beautiful Gloria Ferrer experience. We should have had an apology personally extended to us by the bartender, there was absolutely no excuse for her behavior! Keep the top employees upfront who know customer service and young inexperienced ones as hostesses! read more

The scenery on a sunny day is wonderful. We were greeted by one of the nicest people I have ever encountered. She made us feelmright at home. We attained a table outside with an amazing overlook. Go for brunch! The brunch basically comes with a full tasting and multiple courses of food, including a fruit salad, salmon tartines, pancakes, roasted potatoes, an egg frittata, and other items I'm probably forgetting. It was all delicious and the outdoor seating is stunning--it's a great way to start a Saturday. I hadn't had Gloria Ferrer wine in years, but I will be buying more going forward. The sparkling wine was excellent (particularly for the price point) and might even be my new years' wine of choice this year. The only downside was it was a little awkward that the waiter asked us to venmo him a tip. Would be better for the facility to include that in the cost. read more

We have been members at Gloria Ferrer for a few years but I realized I've never reviewed them here. And it is always such a great experience deserving of a review so here goes. We went today, a Friday. Beautiful weather, views as far as one could see. Nice amount of people - not too busy but busy enough for a little people watching while you sample the sparkling offerings. Our server, Michael started us off with an extra Brut then a nice rose' (yes we could drink that all day ) and ....oops. My buzz might be kicking in I'm forgetting the 3rd . But we finished with a royal Cuvée- always super good. We enjoyed the cheese board and the crudités platter. As members we get a nice discount keeping the food at a fair price and complimentary charcuterie boards for us and two guests, but we have no friends. There's no rushing, and the servers are all so welcoming, knowledgeable and professional. The tasting room sits atop a bluff overlooking the vineyards and entry road lined by beautiful olive trees. It is spacious and feels very comfortable. Real service dogs are welcome and they have a few areas you can reserve for larger groups/parties. The wines are always great and it's in a convenient location in Sonoma. If you like sparkling wines it's a great spot but they also offer some nice still as well. Had not visited this particular winery in many years and so very much surprised by all of the changes. I had participated in a local wine run and while I didn't have a reservation, the hostess said I could still enjoy some wine and nibbles down in the new graden area. There is a full bar set up and great service available in this new area. It is an absolutely beautiful spot to sit and relax with a glass of bubbles and take in the gorgeous surroundings. We had a gorgeous sunset tasting led by Joey (shout out to Joey!) where we tried the 4 basic bubbles. Joey was super engaging, discussing the different type of bubbles and glasses they use to get more bubbles and we thought he was very thorough and thoughtful. The views and holiday decor were gorgeous. We did some shopping in the gift shop before we left and loved their options of candles and other little gifts that were perfect stocking stuffers. The sparkling wine was all pretty dry and even I, who is not a huge bubble lover, enjoyed each sip. read more

Worst tasting experience in nearly 20 yrs of trips to Sonoma County. Over $60 got you only 4 small pours of bubblies, plus 2 extra pours of a rose bubbly. They were tasty, but not tasty enough to justify the price for such small pours, nor the wait between each pour. At one point, we waited close to 30 minutes for the next pour. Plus, we got pretty much no narrative about the wines. I even had to ask once which bubbly we had been poured. We had been regular customers at Gloria Ferrer for years, but we will look for alternatives from now on. Very disappointing for the price. read more

Still a favorite place for my sparking wine and to chill, to recoup after Thanksgiving day. It's a breath taken venue and just make you forget everything else and be in the moment. I tend to get several glasses of different sparking or a bottle and just sit there get lost and soaked in the moments for couple hrs before getting back to reality. A must stop for me whenever I'm in SF...just couple hrs drive but worth it, sometime I think it better than seeing a doctor. Plenty of parking and staff, majority of the time 90% are very nice and wonderful. If you can make reservations ahead, that would be even better. I love champagnes but the American can't have that so this is the next best time from my pov, plus I used just this for couple of my birthday before. Nicely taste (depending on which one, crisp, fruity, dry, etc) but it's affordable for sure. If you're here, try their reserved or only at the winery selling instead of the ones that you can get at the stores, just my opinion. Can't wait til next time. read more

We had 11:00 AM reservations for the Taste of Carneros experience at Gloria Ferrer, California's most awarded sparkling winery and folks, the award shelf must be sagging under the weight of excellence. When we arrived, our table was already staged like a magazine spread: glasses twinkling, menus placed with precision, and views that could silence a room. My adoring sidekick: refined, radiant, and ever-so-prepared for bubbly, was already in her element. As I adjusted my chair to soak in the panoramic perfection of rolling vineyards and olive trees swaying like old souls, she was mid-sip, eyes closed, communing with the first pour. The sparkling wines? Ethereal. Each one whispered something different to the senses: crisp orchard fruit, warm brioche, a flirtatious hint of citrus, and all pulled from the estate like liquid gold. This wasn't a tasting. It was a symphony, and we had front-row seats. We added Spanish tapas to the mix because, let's be honest, bubbles demand a supporting cast. The Charcuterie Board: A rustic dream. Manchego, almonds, salami, dried fruit, crackers, and yes, the caper berries, plump as grapes and twice as sassy. Picture a Restoration Hardware catalog crossed with a Sonoma dream--open, modern, and inviting. Even the vine sculpture on the wall seemed to lift its arms and say, "You belong here." Outside, we explored more seating areas, including some modern Adirondack chairs that looked like they belonged on the cover of Architectural Digest: Vineyard Edition. And the views, dear Lord, the views. We stood together overlooking those vines, taking a photo not just to capture the moment but to testify: we were here, and it was glorious. As we wrapped up, my wife lingered with one last glass of her favorite pour, like a perfectly placed encore before the curtain closed on a flawless performance. We didn't just enjoy the experience. Been a member of Gloria Ferrer for a few years now. This place has always been amazing!! Great place inside and out, they have a beautiful bar to sit out and great sitting inside as well. But the patio/ outside sitting is just gorgeous is on top of a small hill so you can overlook the scenery. All the grapevines and others around there too. You can even see the small airport/ museum near there. This past visit our Wine sommelier was Victor. Great guy knows he's stuff knew how to explain each or the pours we had and super nice guy. The views, the quality of the bubbly, top notch, absolutely fantastic. Service started out slow but improved after I made a stink. The bubbly here is really some of the best in Sonoma (disclaimer I have not been to the other well known sparkling wine houses in Sonoma). Every wine I sampled here was exceptional - from the brut to the blanc de blanks to the extra dry brut, just exceptional. Our server started out slow but finished strong. I was really disappointed with my experience at Gloria Ferrer during the Sonoma Sip event. Their coupon clearly states that walk-ins are welcome Wednesday through Sunday, and I even called ahead to confirm that we could walk in and be seated for a tasting. However, when we arrived, they refused to honor the coupon, making for a frustrating and misleading experience. This kind of inconsistency is unacceptable and puts a damper on what should have been an enjoyable event. On top of that, they said we can only stay if we buy a bottle and drink it there in the yard by the parking lot completely contradicting that they had no space to honor the Sonoma Sip event. read more

Beautiful terrace overlooking the vineyards. The food and wine are all Spanish style. Nice decor inside and a great selection of champagne drinks. I tried the taste of Carneros with 5 different flavors. We added a charcuterie board and croquettes which were delicious and I recommend. Service from Kenny was tops. He really explained everything and was attentive. You can make reservations online. The only thing I didn't like was I tried calling about my reservations the week before and nobody answered the phone. It's almost impossible to get a hold of someone for information or modification on a reservation. You prepay online. Overall it's a lovely place to visit and I recommend it as a good choice for anyone visiting the wine country. read more

Sophia was a fabulous host and represented the winery in a smart and friendly way. She made sparkling wine suggestions based on our interests and she introduced us to their still wines which were very good - especially the Pinot Noir. She was generous with tastings beyond the set list which we totally appreciated. We couldn't get a last minute wine and food pairing rez but that was for the best. The small plates menu was delicious and vegetarian friendly. We spent hours taking in the views, the food and wines. In the end we decided to join the wine club. Even though we live in WA we look forward to returning for this Carneros gem. read more

At a member's exclusive tasting with wine pairings recently, things were a bit sloppy. The person picking up dishes dropped utensils onto the table, and tried to remove Kate's still in use. Our courses arrived out of sequence and the wines weren't paired correctly. The flies landing all over our plates added to our dissatisfaction. Let's hope they get their act together soon. read more

Upon arriving, you can learn so much upon the winery, with our server giving us not only a thorough lesson on how everything is sourced and how everything has came to our glasses that day. it's a moment that's meant to not only have you enjoying the drink but experience them, giving us two at a time to start to compare and contrast. Loved the experience and the wines we had to try, which so much variety but very much known for the sparkling wine. The food offered compliments all the wines incredibly well, with the cheeses along with sea food group dishes. This was an amazing experience! First off, the view is absolutely beautiful and the lounge area we were seated was comfortable, sunny, and had a great vibe. All of the wines we tasted were wonderful and i would love to have again. Kenny G was the one helping us out and he was very knowledgeable, helpful, and overall a great host. He gave us very generous pours and even offered us more if our hearts desired. We ordered some tapas and it surprised me how high quality they were. I'm usually underwhelmed with the food at wineries but not here. We got the olives, pistachios, garlic mushrooms, patatas bravas, shrimp, duck leg confit, and the dessert platter. The olives were some of my favorite that i've had and the duck leg confit was so flavorful and cooked to perfection! The dessert platter was the perfect way to end the tasting and really went well with the wines. Our whole group agreed at the end of our trip that this was our favorite of the wineries we visited. My girlfriends and I drove up scenic Hwy 12 from Marin yesterday to visit Gloria Ferrar. It's been a cold, rainy December, so the masses were out to soak up the blue sky & sunshine among the vineyards. When we arrived, it was bursting with people, all jockeying around the bar. The diplomatic hostess confirmed that there were no tables available, but kindly directed us to the bar area. It was my birthday, and my girlfriend's anniversary. She is a longtime member there. We had come to do tastings, as she planned to buy a couple of cases of bubbly. We understood, and patiently waited at the bar. It was then that the beautiful and very capable restaurant manager started chatting us up while waited. Soon she had arranged for us to sit outside at a sweet little table. This manager's name is Frances.We love Frances. She literally took it upon herself, among the pandemonium, to personally wait on us and brought us super delicious food, along with pouring the bubbly of our choice. How classy is that? Gloria Ferrer is one of my favorite places to taste in Sonoma County. The service is very great and attentive, and I love their bubbles. The outdoor seating overlooks the vineyard, and is perfect for a sunny day. They allow for the swapping of wines if you know that you aren't too fond of one, which is great since I'm not a big Rosé fan. The Royal Cuvée is to die for. They recently started serving a bread basket along with the personal charcuterie dish, and it pairs rather well. The charcuterie has a wide variety of local options to sample, and is one of my favorite parts of the tasting. I will definitely be returning in the spring! read more

We have been club members for 6 years and things have only gone down hill rapidly ! We have had personal items stolen from our table only to see an employee have them in their possession after the fact, even after calling and checking the lost and found several times. The club member parties have gotten more and more expensive and less enjoyable. A place that plans events for "members only" then sells out so we never get to enjoy the events. Good thing there is a plethora of other wineries out there that would be happy to have us join their club, take it from someone that works in the industry don't bother with Gloria Ferrer unless you want salty service and attitudes ! read more

Having brunch on a winery has been something we've always wanted to try and fortunately our friends gave us an excuse to do it. We chose Gloria Ferrer for the marvelous views and we're not disappointed by Chef Jason Naaman's pairing menu. Our server, shared her knowledge of wine and what each dish was and why it was selected. To begin, we had a fresh fruit assortment along with fresh French pastries that had a creamy butter to spread over. The Vista Brut wasn't too dry and offered a nice contrast to the sweet fruit. The shrimp and grits was an elevated version of the southern dish, with a jumbo white shrimp on top with creamy grits enhanced with manchego cheese. As we continued on our experience with the meal, we had a tortilla Española that gave great Spanish flavor, with roasted red peppers and caramelized onions that gave a sweetness to the frittata. The final dish were torrijas, which were a Spanish-style French toast. Each bite had an element of sweet and savory with the freshly whipped Marscapone and candied apricots on top. This was a 5 star experience that started off our weekend with high quality. read more

I've been a member here for a few years, given proximity to home, the bubbly, and the view. Generally enjoy the experience and do think the wines are worth the price (and, IMO, better than the other sparkly place with a fancy castle up the road). My last trip was pretty underwhelming, tho. And barely warranted two stars (the third, a generous one as I re-read this review, because I've enjoyed it in the past). The pours were incredibly light, the wine educator seemingly in a hurry (though nobody else was in her rotation). And was escorted out with a "thanks. Your box is on a table inside. See you again soon." No question on whether I wanted to revisit anything. Or maybe to order something else? I prob wouldn't have written this review. But the next day, I got a series of emails from GF giving me a refund for one of my bottles (a 2019 that they'd apparently run out of. Despite it being pre-ordered as part of my quarterly shipment) and then charging me $2 more for the 2020 vintage. I mean. Not a big deal in grand scheme. And had the service in the tasting been better, wouldn't have said diddly. But all in all, the experience felt like GF was losing its touch. And starting towards the bus tour stop to which that previously mentioned castle place has fallen. Too bad. read more

My friends and I were looking for a true "sparkling wine" experience in Sonoma for our friend's " almost to get engaged, but not quite" party. We decided some bubbles and girl time would help her through the stress of no ring, so we hired a limo, came to Sonoma from the city and had a wonderful time at Gloria Ferrer! First, Kenny G treated us like rock stars and it just got better from there. Our tastings were exquisite and the view to die for. The friend who didn't get engaged didn't care any more, we had such great girl time!! ( who needs a man?)
