I live on the edge of Cheektowaga near Amherst, so coming to town hall is about a 10/15 minute drive for me. You can take care of your typical legal business here, such as tax payments, dog licensing, etc. I've visited here twice for both of these reasons. It's a semi-dated building on the inside, original architecture mixed with some 80's elevator system or something (I don't know the exact date the elevators were put in, I'm just making them seem old here). If I recall correctly, part of the building was under repairs during my last visit. There's plenty of signage telling you where you need to go, at least! As long as I continue living in the town, I'm sure I'll find my way back eventually.

They offer a senior program that is greatly appreciated. The lunch program is a booming success. The food pantry is an overwhelming success for this neighborhood. Activities for kids is expanding every week. They offer basketball camps, art classes and treat all these kids as their own. When you enter the building, you are welcomed and asked what can they do for you. The OFW director Claire , Youth director Morgan and lunch chefs Kathy and Rene are truly there for you.

She is not very nice to the children either.

I called to ask if they host events, which they do and stopped in at the bar. You have to be "buzzed" in and the bartender allows you through the door. You can feel the eyes move to you as you walk in. There's definitely a regular crowd here. I can't imagine they get many outsiders. I got a tour of the hall. I was shocked at how massive it was. You could host an event here for hundreds of people. Tables and chairs as far as the eye can see. A nice big beautiful bar to boot. Unfortunately it's a little too big and expensive for a stag. Its $300 to rent the hall ($100 down) and you have to pay in full for beer & liquor (it's very cheap to begin with). They're having a meat & gun raffle the upcoming weekends. After my tour I had a few drinks at the regular bar which is a separate building connected to the hall. If you've never had the chance to drink at a post its an experience unlike any other. Beer is $2. Everyone says hello and goodbye to patrons as they come and go. Very old school. I was shocked to read an article in the Buffalo News that this location is going up for sale due to lack of membership interest. This place is open on WED, THUR & FRI. Wednesday is wing and shrimp night. The hall can be reserved on the weekends.

I approached the desk and asked the women where I could find one. They looked at me like I was crazy and said "we don't have that, I don't even know what that is" I opened their resource binder to show them that they did in fact have the cd drive. They followed it up by looking in their system and saying "well it's lost". They were not very friendly during this interaction and I'm disappointed with their lack of knowledge. This is a fine basic library if you want to hop on a computer quickly or checkout a book, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything more than that. Kind of disappointing because I've been to some great, helpful, friendly libraries and the Kenmore location fell short.

I've been going to the Kenmore Library since I was an infant and I have loved it for as long as I…read morecan remember. Even though I haven't lived in Kenmore in nearly a decade, I still find myself visiting this library whenever I'm home seeing family. During my most recent visit, I actually stopped by twice to use the computers for some business I needed to take care of as I hadn't brought my laptop with me. While I still maintain my Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Card, I did not have it with me. Not too worry though as the librarians were so kind to set me up with a temporary/guest pass to use the computers. During previous visits I've used the glass rooms/study areas to really focus as they are a bit more private and definitely reduce noise (not that it's a noisy library). The book selection is decent and I'm honestly so impressed by the number and variety of classes, workshops, and programs this library hosts. It is such a hub for learning, creativity, and community!!! Five stars!!! Libraries are so magical and this one is especially near and dear to my heart :)

Most of the book stacks wrap around the perimeter, with computers and other seating in the middle. The space is fairly snug, but hugely warm and inviting. The turquoise colored walls really add to the cheerful feel! The building is one-level accessible, and there is a good-sized parking lot along the side and around the back. I stopped in with my husband to pick up a book I wanted that was only available at Dudley for which I did not want to wait on a hold transfer, (if you're not reading the "Mickey 7" series by local author Edward Ashton, you should!). The New Books rack was clearly marked, and it was easy to find what I was looking for within a minute. We perused the library a bit longer, and it really is a well-cultivated collection for a smaller branch! Both my husband and I commented on how the sci-fi section was better stocked with quality classic and newer selections than some of the bigger branches we frequent. After I checked out my materials, we sat down for a minute to get organized and realized we were in two comfy wing-back chairs at a chess table. We were in no rush, so we played a game in the splendid space. (My husband used to be a ranked chess player, so he was eventually victorious, but I didn't fold too fast, hahaha.) I'm glad that through happenstance I ended up at the Dudley Branch Library. As a Northtown'er, it is definitely off the beaten path and out of the way for me. But I would gladly visit again if there is something here I can't wait for to be hold-delivered, and/or if we're in the area and I want a chess rematch with the hubbs. ;-)
