I am a sucker for the pedicure! Rub my feet and give me cute toes and I will follow you forever like an contented puppy. I was a regular at the Pedi-across-the-parking-lot but gave up due to long lines, rushed pedi's and after I kept getting the same woman who treated my feet like a milking machine. LoAnn at Lifestyle totally reaffirmed my love of the pedi. The Milk & Honey is an amazing deal at $60. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed and the massage chairs are pretty awesome. Wear a sports bra if you choose the shiatsu chair massage or you will jiggle like jello. Not that you care since your feet are getting treated like rockstars. Oh - if you want magazines or something to read, bring your own. There are TVs but they were (blissfully) turned off whenever I've been there. read more

I am not really a girlie-girl, but every once & a while I'll treat myself. I read a lot about the shellac nail treatment & decided to try it out. I just walked in & had a nice relaxing trip. I zoned off a lot, but that's mainly because my girlfriend couldn't make it last minute & I'm too shy to talk to strangers. My nails came out nice & shiny (no bubbles as I've seen complained about elsewhere,) & my toes are still perfect. The manicure only lasted a week, but as I'm very rough on my hands, that would probably be the equivalent of at least two for anybody else. I will definitely have them done again. read more

They have one person who can do gel nails really well, her name is Suzy. Otherwise the nails come out looking really bad, had my nails done there today, Suzy wasn't available but it was the only time I could go this week. I thought to myself that whatever damage they did to my nails couldn't be worse than not having my nails done. Well, I was very very wrong, my nails are all different sizes now, and it looks like my friend's 5-year-old painted my nails. It looks so bad that now I think I'm going to have to find the time to go somewhere else to have the shellac removed :( read more

WOW! I stopped in on my short lunch break and asked for a polish change on my toes. Typically I go to a spa in RR, and the girl does a cute pattern (zabra stripes) over a solid color, so I asked the technician if she could repeat the pattern. She assured me she could. After polishing my toes, she immediatly attempted the pattern, which even I knew would not work well on the still wet polish. I didnt want to make the girl feel bad, but in the end, the pattern was AWFUL!! I honestly think my 6 yr old could have done a better job. Worse than that, she charged me a whopping $25 for the polish change because of the 'design'!! I thought WOW! $25 to take my polish off, re paint, and THIS is what I get. So sad with this place today. I've been before and had reasonably good service but today was such a bummer. I called at 2pm and asked if they had time available at 330pm for a pedicure and manicure. They said no problem and took my name. I showed up at 4:25 and told them I had an appointment and I picked my color. They sat me in a pedicure. They seemed busy but had a couple employees working on the same customer. I don't have a problem with a little wait but that's why I call ahead and see if I can have an appointment. 20 minutes go by and a lady frees up and goes to work on another lady in a pedicure chair that came in 15 minutes after me. While I was watching another lady saw me and and I asked how much longer. She told me after that lady because she had an appointment. I said I did too at 330 for a manicure and pedicure. Then they started arguing about who was first. I decided to leave, I had more things to do and at that point I wasn't going to enjoy it. The lady came running over saying she didn't know and starring touch me to sit me back down. It's frustrating knowing you try and make an appointment so you don't wait and the fact that either they can't keep appointments straight or don't have no clue is a bummer. read more

Ashley is amazing. She does my nails perfectly every time! She takes her time, is thorough and gentle when she removes gel from my nails to make sure she never damages them. If I could have given them a negative 1, I would have. I had a manicure and a pedicure at the same time and the ENTIRE time, the girls were talking to one another and not paying any attention to what they were doing. The manicurist kept stopping the manicure to have her conversation. She cut my cuticle. The woman who was doing the pedicure was so busy chatting that she starting file my skin rather than my nails. I still have an injury on my toe from that. It was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had in regards to a mani/pedi. When I complained, I was told that I was being difficult because I kept asking them questions. Yes, I did continually ask questions about what they were doing because someone had to pay attention to it. And the massage, forget it! Both were pretty bad because they couldn't multitask by talking and working. As for the manicure, my one hand was put in the water to soak for about 5 seconds and then she started working on it. She was so busy in her conversation that she forgot that my hand was not soaking. Bad experience...never again! read more

During pedicure the technician made a phone call while massaging my feet and legs. For the duration I received one handed massage. Then, when it was time to apply polish she hadn't removed all of the existing! I asked her to file it off (it was dark blue), she made a 20 second attempt & left. She came back with different polishes for me to choose from since the polish I originally picked wasn't dark enough to cover the old polish! I asked again for her to get the existing polish off but she ignored me and just held the new polishes out to me. I chose one but was not cool with it. After finishing the top coat she took the foam separators out from between my toes, put my flips flops on & asked me to go to the nail station for my pink & white solar nails. I asked her to please put the foam back and she actually told me no. She said she'd redo the polish if it messed up. It's been my experience that it's not a best practice to tell a customer no. Of course the polish on my toes is a mess & after almost two-hours (nails were another hour) I just wanted to leave. I will go back today & ask for a proper polish. read more

I was a regular customer here for a little over a year. Every two to three weeks, I'd get a mani/pedi. I went in today, late morning so it was slow, and two ladies started working simultaneously on my nails. Maybe 10-15 minutes later, three more people come in, two of which also wanted a mani/pedi. In order to accommodate them, the lady working on my mani left to work on the new person. She did say sorry, but said "I'm busy now". That's funny... I thought she was "busy" working on me. I ended up being there for two hours, and all three of the customers who came in after me were finished before me. I don't expect superior service, but I also don't appreciate being bumped when I was there first, and end up having to stay longer than normal. I realize there are so many people out there needing to get their nails done, so they may not really care how they treat a long time loyal customer as long as they get as much money at the time, but I don't want to give my money to a place who sees this as fair customer service. I have preferred Lifestyle Nails in the past because my feet tend to get pretty calloused and require the chemical removal procedure they provide. There are some nice technicians there, and the quality of the service you receive varies quite a bit depending on who you work with. I tend to be preoccupied and work while I get my pedicure, so the experience is generally a blur. On a couple of occasions, though, looking over my credit card statements, I have been concerned that the charges for services were actually higher than those I had authorized. So the last time I went in for a mani/pedi, I made sure to pay close attention. The total cost of service was $40. My receipt reflected a cost of $40, and I wrote in a tip of $10, bringing the total to $50. I made certain that my handwriting was clear and there could be no claim of ambiguity. Two weeks later, I looked at my credit card bill, and sure enough, my total fee from Lifestyle Nails had been jacked up to $55! There is no way of knowing exactly who is responsible for this, but it is theft, and as it has happened more than once, it is systematic theft. It's a bad scene, man. If you go, don't use credit or debit cards. Pay with cash or go elsewhere! read more

I just got back from Lifestyle after getting off work late and looking for a nail place to fix these nasty nails. I went to 2 around the area; one was closed, and the other I walked in and all the ladies turned to look at me and stare as if I didn't belong there for some reason; maybe it's because they had been open 10 years and didn't welcome newcomers-who knows, but I sure got an ugly vibe and walked right out. I had seen Lifestyle recently open next to HEB (so convenient) and I saw the 20% off sign. I walked in and right away the lady greeted me warmly and I noticed they were closing soon, but she said to come on in and sat me down to do my acrylics. I was offered a water bottle and some wine : ) BUT THIS LADY WAS AMAZING! She pretty much did everything by hand (which if you are in the industry, you know this is rare) she was gentle, did not file my natural nail down so much and did not make it painful or uncomfortable. I soon noticed why she let me come on in, she was fast! And I don't mean rushed fast (where they're trying to get done quickly to go home) but fast as in she's been doing it for a long time so she knows what she's doing. Yes, she used the machine towards the end but only on my acrylics. People always complain that if you keep doing your nails you will lose your natural ones, well that's because no one does them by hand anymore. I have been going to Lifestyle Nails & Spa for the past 6 months and I absolutely LOVE it! The staff is always super friendly and they do a fantastic job. I get the gel maincure and often times my manicure lasts for 3 weeks! At the previous nail salon I went to, the manicure would last for 2 weeks normally. Their color selection is pretty large as well. I get pedicures on a monthly basis there and those are amazing as well. I go for the upgraded pedicure (I wanna say the Royal pedicure) because you get an extra long leg/food massage. It is SO relaxing I often times have to stop myself from passing out in the massage chair. If you get the Royal pedicure you also get complimentary wine, which is surprisingly pretty good! Prices here are pretty typical-you could probably find cheaper elsewhere but I come here because I like the atmosphere of this place and I'm never disappointed with their services. I've only been here a handful of times for a pedicure and so far they have been good. The staff is real nice and they offer me wine every time I have gone, although I have never taken them up on their offer. This last time I went I decided to get a waxing done. Biggest mistake ever!! There was hair left, when she pulled the strip she didn't hold the skin down, she left the door cracked open while I was changing (which I had to close myself), and so much more. I've never had a manicure here so I can't say anything about that service. Overall the pedis are good and I like the salon. I would never go back for any kind of waxing. read more

They're fast and accomodating and I like the fact that they spray your nails which dries them instantly. HOWEVER, like most salons, they do not require customers to sanitize their hands before a manicure, passing on hundreds of other customers' germs. One of my fingers was nicked, resulting in an infected finger, even though "septic" was applied. If you've had such an experience, I implore you to write the TX Dept of Licensing and Regulations, P. O. Box 12157, Austin, TX 78711 and urge them to require customers and employees to cleans their hands BEFORE services are rendered. read more

I'm giving the Lifestyle Nails & Spa one star when they really deserve zero. I went in for a pedicure before a late dinner. I was taken to the pedi chair pretty quick and the man turned on the water while I took off my flipflops. I didn't hesitate to step in the tub and get seated but the water was so hot that my right toes were scalded! As I screamed and threw myself into the chair, he came back and added some cold water. Not once did he apologize for the water being so hot or ask if my toes were okay. I tried to discuss the incident with him but he couldn't be bothered. In addition, the lady doing my toes was rough with my foot even after I told her that it was stinging. To make a long story short, they only apologized when the pedi was finished and didn't offer any kind of discount. Besides the fact that my toes were hurt, this was the fastest pedi I've ever gotten and the worst one! I won't return. read more

I happened upon Lifestyle by chance, just as it was closing time (7pm). They took me anyway, with Lyly (pronounced Lily) staying an hour and a half late to give me an incredible shellac, french manicure. I also got a color change on my toes. It's the cleanest and most modern nail salon I've been to in a long time. What makes it even better is that their prices are the same as everywhere else. I highly recommend Lifestyle. I was torn about whether to write a review at all, but I've had enough of giving this place chances. That's probably more on me expecting things to get better but I'm done. I've been to this place a few times, even for my wedding to get acrylics. The pedicures never last more than week. The last time I got acryclics (three weeks ago), the technician cut the skin under my nails a few times and they were bleeding. My friend and I went in together and needed fills on our acrylics. She went on a weekday afternoon and was basically turned away at this location and the place they pawn people off on. She ended up going to a salon in a completely different area of town. Today I went in to get my acrylics removed because I was not going to keep going back to a place that was going to not care about me and they told me to have a seat. 10 minutes later they told me the wait would be an hour. I'm so over this place claiming to take walk-ins when they're always busy. Except there's always at least 4 girls standing around giggling instead of helping. Even when you make an appointment, they still don't always make time for you. I ended up going somewhere else where I didn't have the greatest experience, but I was seen to and got my acrylics off and got another manicure. This place has had enough chances from me. read more

Although I love the manis and pedis ( always have liked the way they shape my nails) I cannot get over the fact that the owner either trashed my shoes, donated them or they were stolen. I had my pedicure on a Tuesday. It was impromptu so had to leave with their paper sandals. I On Saturday, I realized I couldn't find my shoes, on Sunday I realized I had left them there and immediately called and spoke to a girl who said that she remembered seeing them but couldn't find them and that the owner probably threw them away. What the hell!!! She took my number and told the me the owner had stepped out and would call me back. 3 hours later I called back and spoke to him and he said he couldn't find them and that they were probably picked up and donated. That is ridiculous! They were left there for 5 days and they weren't cheap shoes either. Still pissed off as I had to go and buy another pair of shoes to replace them. Will probably go back but will definitely wear my own sandals!! BE AWARE OF LEAVING WITH YOUR SHOES OR YOU MIGHT NOT GET THEM BACK! read more

I agree with many in the previous posts who say this nail salon does not even deserve a star. I started going there solely for my eyebrows because one lady was very good at waxing them. Today I decided instead of going to two different places I'd get a mani/pedi as well. As soon as I walked in the door one lady asks what we needed. I told her 3 eyebrows and a mani/pedi, she then proceeds with pick your color. So I follow directions and pick my color. Before I'm done or even chosen a color, she's shooing me to sit down and she'd let me choose from my seat. As soon as I put my feet in the water I jumped because it was scolding hot water. The lady then pressed on my feet to "make things better". A different lady comes up and starts on my "manicure" which turned out to be something totally different and could care less of what I actually wanted. Once I was done I expected to get my eyebrows waxed and what do you know.. She had already left for the day! The person in charge then arrived once I was paying for HORRIBLE services and as I started talking to her she says , what I think was "I don't want to talk" , and infuriates me to writing this review. AVOID THIS SALON AT ALL COSTS! All they see is money, no customer service skills at all! read more
