He made me bleed; which is okayish because he was helping me with a nasty ingrown nail but he didn't even acknowledge the blood. Said nothing, no apology. You can tell he either hates his life, his job or me apparently. Massage portion of the pedicure was terrible (but that's at most places), light touches, just rubbing in the lotion, would rather him not touch me at all. He didn't treat my calluses. They ignored me when I walked in, finally told me to pick a color and have a seat, I waited over 30 minutes without being told anything before I finally left. Someone walked in about 10 minutes after I arrived and they sat her in a pedicure chair. Even if she did have an appointment, there were plenty of other chairs open and they weren't busy. I've been here a couple of times for a pedicure and have always been pleased with the service. This time however, I went in for a fill and felt inspired to get some nail art done while I was there. Unfortunately, I don't think the nail tech I had (Tiffany) was the right person to do it. It was sloppy, clumpy and just poorly done. I went home and removed what she had done, and polished the nails myself so I could at least salvage the fill. However, the actual surface of the nail was uneven and bumpy and still looked terrible, even after I tried to fix it. I ended up getting the entire set removed a few days later. Buyer beware. I asked for an acrylic full set. The man told me that I could get colored acrylic powder, so I chose that. Really, it was the dip nail. Which I did not want. By the time I realized it it was too late. That service is also $15 more than the acrylic set I asked for. I also asked for a manicure. I should have just asked for a cuticle trim. Their website states that a basic manicure includes polish. Well I already had color because of my full set, but he still charged me for a full manicure. However, last time I made an appointment with her, and things went down. First, I only found out when I got there that she was not there. WARNING. Do NOT go here to have dipping powder manicure removed. They destroyed my nails with the removal process. I really hate leaving bad reviews but I feel like I could save somebody a terrible experience this way. It was my first time getting dipping powder removed, so I didn't know you are supposed to sand off just a little bit and then soak the nails to remove the rest. That's not what this salon did - they sanded all the polish off without soaking, straight down to my nails until the sander started digging into my real nails and it caused a LOT of pain. He said the pain was normal and was just from the heat of the sander. He sanded it down so severely that my nails are now so thin that I can't grow them out without bending and breaking. It's gonna take months for my nails to recover. When I got my next dipping powder removed at a different salon, they removed it properly with soaking and were shocked when I told them what I had experienced at Lifestyle nails. read more

I came here on a Sunday afternoon after I did my grocery shopping at H-E-B. I originally had went to Arboretum nails and spa, but left after my presence was ignored and having received terrible customer service. I called Lifestyle because it was right across the parking lot, and the person who answered the phone told me to come right on over...that I would have no wait. I got there and had about a 20 minute late. The guy who did my nails got them done quickly which I appreciated since I had been waiting (I didn't originally anticipate). However, he was very rough with my finger nails, so much that I had to pull away once or twice. I really liked the set up of this salon. It is 1. a bar where you sit on stools versus an individual table per nail tech-customer duo. 2. It is very very clean and well-kept. What I didn't like, in addition to the wait and rough handling, was that it was $30 for a fill...before tip! too expensive for a fill. read more

After going here and having a Milk & Honey pedicure, I am going here and here alone for my pedicures from now on. I had no idea that such luxury could exist in that crazy shopping center. I'm normally not impressed by decor but I couldn't help but notice the blown glass, iron art and enormous fish tank. This place looked and felt luxurious as opposed to the cheesy opulence that has been popping up all over town. The bars in front where they do manicures are very cool to me and their massage chairs for pedicures are probably the best available. Yes, I paid a pretty penny for the pedicure but it was worth it - $60 for a milk & honey bath, sugar scrub, clay mask and paraffin treatment added to the regular deluxe pedicure. I come to this place because it's convenient, not because they're good. I hate being upsold, which is what happened the first couple times I visited. The facility itself is shiny and new, the people that work there are nice and good at what they do, to a certain extent. The fact is that the pedicures I've received here have never lasted (looked good) for more than a week. Prices are reasonable if not a bit on the expensive side for the services rendered. It's pretty weird when you walk into a pedicure salon at 10am and it's dead. Their TV's are always off too. The whole place looks like a cheaper version of Arboretum Nails and Spa across the street but they have the same prices. I've been here a few times with my boss for team appreciation pedicures. We got the regular pedicure which is $25 and sometimes we'll added the callus remover for the extra $5. Nothing out of the ordinary with their prices or the quality. Even the girls did an alright job and are nice, the manager however is another story. He's not friendly whatsoever. This salon doesn't have an area to go to after your nails are done so you'll sit in your chair for a little bit so they can completely dry. But don't sit too long (ie 5-10 min) or he'll come over to boot you out when the place isn't even full. He came over and raised both of the arms on mine and my boss's chairs to get us to leave. Well we're not coming back. The pedicures were fine but if you want to keep people coming back you should really have better customer service. read more

I checked around and didn't find another salon doing Shellac that was as convenient. I went back this last weekend, and observed a very "authentic Austin" hippiechick with inked arms, a septum piercing, and dreds past her shoulders getting a pedicure, chatting away with the nail artist. I wondered if perhaps the salon read the negative review and vowed to clean up their act. In any case, I did another shellac manicure (bright red) and Loann did a phenomenal job. I recommend asking for Loann-- she's so friendly and sweet, with a wicked sense of humor and near-fluent English. She's also very detail oriented, which I appreciate. My French pedicure came out perfect (again) and I'm really happy with the Shellac... finally, a manicure that lasts a full two weeks. I even did my jiu jitsu training (which is normally murder for fingernails) and you would never have known. I'm hooked. $30 for a shellac manicure and $30 for a French pedicure means I can't indulge regularly, but when I can I will. read more

I admit i do look different, i have tattoos and a few facial piercings, but yet i always look very feminine, but i moved to Austin bc i knew difference is accepted. Well due to the way i look, i suppose they thought i didn't make or have as much money as the other clientele ( which is not true what so ever), who were pampered and talked to and even brought tea or water, which they never did either for me.Which made me feel very uncomfortable about myself. After my nails were finished i got a pedicure which i admit felt amazing. Well when i was done i gave them the gift certificate and on top of that tipped as well. Well it has now been one week and ever single one of my nails are cracked, broken, and the paint is peeling, which i have never seen happen!! I called and talked to them about what happened and they were very rude and totally disregarded everything i said, which really hurt my feelings. Like i said i have had my nails done for ten years or more now, and this is the first time i have ever had my nails so carelessly done. and to top it off they are much more expensive then most nails salons, so i thought the quality would be much better, which i was VERY WRONG! This was one of the best pedicures I have ever had. The atmosphere is very relaxing. It is decorated nicely... I loved the blue ceiling. It is also very clean. They offered drinks which I greatly appreciated. Dao was the lady who performed the services for me. She was amazing. The massage during the pedicure was so wonderful. Nothing bad to say but just a an average run of the mill basic pedicure. The girl was so nice but it was nothing too special where I am going to make them my regular place. Average prices. Average looking salon. Overall...average everything. Usually my pedicures last 2-3 weeks and this one lasted 3 days before it chipped. Not sure the cause but there was nothing special enough to make me go back and find out if it was a bad paint job or I stubbed my toe in my sleep.
