I visited this salon for the third time (over the course of two years) and unfortunately I have been disappointed after each visit. I purchased a three tan package without visiting this place before and I wish I would have tested them out before purchasing the package. After the first visit, I loved the color I received but was bummed with how quickly it faded. I went a second time a week later and also didn't have a great experience. I felt that my color was different from my first visit (I requested the same color) and felt that the tech was sloppy on important areas (legs/wrist/ankles). They offered to respray me the next day for free, which I really appreciated. The color came out perfect BUT faded terribly within the first two days leaving me patchy. I had been soo careful and did all the things.. oil-free lotion (multiple times a day), warm/cool showers, no harsh chemicals, waited 12 hours to shower for the first time... I was left disappointed and honestly dreading going back to use my last tan. Fast forward two years later, I had my bachelorette party (this weekend) and I needed to get a spray tan. I was tempted to abandon my last tan and go elsewhere but decided to give them one more shot, as it had been two years and maybe things had changed.. I was unfortunately wrong. My color came out very orange, way to dark, and very spotty (my ankles/feet looked horrible). I noticed the spots when I got home and prayed that they wouldn't look as bad once they tan set in.. it looked worse as time went on and I ended up using self tanning lotion to cover the spots.. Now here we are, two days after my first shower (waited 12 hours), took two showers total, all the lotion and cool showers later and I look terrible (see pictures)... The fading is crazy for it only being two days, super orangey, and overall just a horrible look. I ended up opting for long pants the entire weekend of my bachelorette party to covert orange, streaky mess. **For insight, I did not get in a pool or water this weekend, i lotioned up any time my skin started to feel dry and after any showers.** IN CONCLUSION: I wanted to like this place but I'm going to need to find another spray tan salon in Denver. I appreciate the staff offering to spray me again for free after I was unhappy with my second visit and the kind staff I encounter during each visit but I can't justify going back and spending more money.. I gave them another shot in hopes that I'd be better but the outcome was sadly the same. I wish them nothing but the best and hope others have better experiences with the actual tanning product and application. read more

I've been going to Glow now for 7 years and it's always perfection. The shop is located in an easy spot on 6th avenue. The space is inviting and feels so relaxing. The staff is super friendly and professional. It can be a bit unnerving to get naked in front of a stranger and sprayed down but they make you comfortable (you do not have to get completely naked but I don't want tan lines.) It took a couple of sessions for me to get a color that I super loved (it's a bit of an art) and now they have it on file and I get the same great look every time I go. I buy the package deal to save some $$. I love Glow! read more

This is a fine place for just regular tanning but I can't recommend it for brides or events, though they heavily market to these groups. The quality of the tan as well as the customer service is just not good enough to trust for your wedding day. After making a pretty large error on my tan (missing spots) they acted as if they wouldn't have time to fix it. I had been really kind and understanding of the initial error but it was unacceptable in the first place and then the way they handled it was just so bad. They did "fix" it but it really still wasn't up to the standard you'd expect for a bridal tan. No one even apologized either. I was also not initially asked how dark I wanted to go, just *told* what would be best. It ended up being much too light. Honestly there was no conversation or questions at all about my dress, makeup, wedding venue, etc. She also left out important client education for aftercare that was ok since I'm familiar with tanning, but should always be re-stated to people new to your location and to special event clients. If they want to market to brides then they need to step up the quality of the customer experience and the time spent to ensure it's an even, high quality tan that meets the brides expectations for her desired look. read more

I don't give 5 stars very often, but I just had to on this one... Something important to know: "Custom spray tans" are NOT all the same. Different solutions, technique, prep instructions, attitudes, etc all lead to varying results. And Melissa at Glow Body & Sun delivers a true custom spray tan! I have been to several places around town and have been doing the spray tan thing for the past few years, and Glow Body & Sun is the best I have found in Denver. The space is clean, pretty and relaxing. You can tell that Melissa thought about every detail. The tan looked genuine on my skin, it faded evenly and there was not a splotch or a streak anywhere! Melissa listens to what you want, what type of skin you have, customizes the solution for your skin, is thorough in her application and seems to really care that her customers are happy. And at a far more reasonable rate than some other salons in the area. Whether this will be your first spray tan or your 100th, give Glow Body & Sun a try. First off I have to apologize to Glow Body & Sun and Karin especially. After Karin saw my review she contacted me immediately in an effort to resolve my issue. She offered a free session last minute for us to come in and fix the tan. She was very polite and really went out of her way to ensure we were happy customers. This second experience made up for the first 100%. I hated leaving a bad review after seeing so many happy customers and am glad that I am able to give an update with a much higher rating. Again I apologize this was not done much much sooner, there was just so much going on with our trip I completely spaced it and truly feel horrible for any potential customers that read my review and decided not to try Glow Body & Sun. I'm in my sisters wedding this weekend and got a spray tan at Glow yesterday, hoping to look my best. My legs are a mess (the main reason I got the spray tan in the first place): it's dark around my ankles and knees and completely white on my calves and shins. I could see this was the case before I left and said something to the technician and girl at the front desk. The girl at the front desk agreed that it looked uneven but the spray tech told me it would develop fine. Super unhappy that I look streaky and orange after going to Glow - should have just used my at home products. read more

I went in for a spray tan at Glow the day before I left for a much needed vacation in Mexico. I was very comfortable while getting sprayed down, the girl who sprayed me was very friendly, thorough, and I thought she did a great job choosing the right color. After the tan started to develop later that day, I noticed a pretty significant, wide white streak down one of my thighs. I started to panic a little because the last thing you want when you get a spray tan is to look like you got a spray tan. I called the salon and the owner, Karin, answered. She said that the girl who had sprayed me was already gone but she asked me how long it would take me to get to the salon. I told her I could be there in a half hour and she told me she would meet me there and take care of it. I was shocked in all honesty. It was about 7:30 p.m. on a Friday night and at that point, I fully expected to go to Mexico with an uneven tan. Karin met me at the salon and apologized that I had to drive all the way back up from Highlands Ranch. She then proceeded not only to fix the spot on my thigh but also to check over the rest of my body to make sure everything else was even. Not only did she make sure that everything looked good before I left but she also gave me a free tan to use the next time. My tan looked great while I was in Mexico but that wasn't what impressed me the most about Glow. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of businesses out there that truly care whether or not a client is happy with the end result after they have paid for a service. Karin could have easily carried on with her plans on a Friday night instead of coming back in to take care of my issue. Instead, when I apologized for being picky, she told me I SHOULD be picky when I pay for a service and then went way above and beyond what I would have expected. I recently received a beautiful tan at GLOW. I was very happy with the color and quality of the tan. Melissa did an amazing job choosing a tan for my skin tone, and the products felt truly luxurious. I love this place! I have been several times over the past 4 years. I have been twice in the past 2 months or so. This place is so cute, it is very chic and clean. All of the women who have given me spray tans are super friendly, and made me feel comfortable throughout the session. I have gotten a nice deep and rich tan from each time, and keeping up with moisturizing, it lasts a over a week. They keep your color on file, and so each time I have been able to stay the same, or go a little darker or lighter depending on the occasion. I would recommend this place to everyone! read more

I've been here twice - once last year before my wedding at the recommendation of a friend and once more recently before my maternity photo shoot. Initially I was mortified at the thought of being mostly naked in front of a stranger (you can get as naked - or not - as you want). They made me feel completely comfortable though. I LOVED the color they chose for my wedding. Ultimately I decided that a spray tan would even things out after inadvertently getting some tan lines. I had also gone tanning a few times but the color really was beautiful and seemed to last quite a long time. This more recent time was still pretty great. I didn't have a base tan at all and felt there might have been some unevenness on my legs, but that's just me being picky. It's affordable, they're friendly, it's clean, and they do a great job. WOW! just got my first "glow." all I have to say is..."AMAZING." She does an awesome job choosing the perfect combo to make the perfect tan for you. I did not want to be mistaken for Casper the Friendly Ghost on my wedding day, so I called up Glow to see about getting this girl some sun-kissed color without the harmful exposure to rays. I scheduled my first appointment with Melissa about a month prior to my wedding, so I'd have adequate time for the trial run. As I'm normally pale, pale, pale, I wanted to make sure the spray tan wouldn't leave me looking the color of sweet and sour chicken or one of those Jersey Shore people. Melissa sat down with me for a few minutes before my first appointment to discuss what I was going for, which I described as a light glow. As this isn't some machine like a car wash spraying you down, you must be comfortable with baring all or at least getting down to underwear, so Melissa can evenly spray you golden. It's quick and she does a very good job of making you feel comfortable while you hold the poses - trust me. You can't shower for 8 hours after your tan is applied (and bring an umbrella if it is raining, which it was when I went!). I spent those 8 hours worrying the tan was much too dark, but as soon as I showered, the spray tan looked 100% natural. Melissa picked the perfect color to compliment my skin. I was impressed! I got married on a Sunday and went to Melissa again on a Thursday, so that my tan would have some time to even out by my rehearsal dinner on Saturday. Yay for Yelp for not leading me wrong! I went here last week for trial run for my wedding day, as my fiance affectionately calls me "snow white." Well snow white needed to dial up the skin tone in that ivory dress and I had a wonderful first time experience. I am a very pale girl and they were able to give me a very natural looking tan that did last about a week. It took some getting used to, showing all your goodies while standing in super bright lights to the lovely lady that tans you, but it was worth it in the end. I was nervous for my first spray tan, so I decided it was worth the few extra bucks to have a personal do the tan (instead of a booth), and a person with excellent reviews. In short, it was an overly positive experience. Melissa was super professional and sweet, and made me feel comfortable. I think this might be the second time I've ever given 5 stars. I was looking for a REALLY good place to spray tan before my bridal shower this coming weekend. I was in Moab last week and ended up with awful tank-top and flip-flop lines from a raft trip. Although it has only been 3 hours since I was sprayed, I know I will look great in pictures this Saturday. I love having a good tan. It makes me feel so much better about myself and boosts my self confidence! All through out High School and College I tanned in a tanning bed - but after seeing some of my friends who would tan everyday in a bed, I decided that I don't want to look 45 when I am 25 so I stopped tanning in the beds. Skin cancer runs in my family as well. I have always thought about spray tans but was always scared that I would look orange. I don't even know where to start.....this place is AWESOME!! I was horrified that I was even considering getting a spray tan, as I had heard many horror stories of spray tans gone bad (i.e. ORANGE and splotchy). But a planned trip to Vegas made me reconsider going with white pastey skin. I found Melissa here on Yelp, and decided to buck up and give it a try....I am so glad I did, because my tan was SO HOT!! Not a spot on my body was streaky or splotchy, not even my knuckles, ankles, or elbows - those hard to get spots. My tan even faded evenly. No one knew I had gotten a spray tan - I literally looked like I had just returned from a tropical destination! Melissa is so great....she worked with me to give me the perfect tan for my skin tone. She uses all natural products too, so that night I never even smelled like I had anything on my skin! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I was recommended to go here by 2 friends. I have never had a spray tan but wanted to try this for my wedding. I did a trial run a few weeks before to see how dark and how long it would last on me. The woman that work there made me feel very comfortable. I ended up doing my spray tan 3 days before my wedding and it was perfect! Not dark just a nice glow - no orange or yellow tone. I can't speak more highly of this company.
