And to top it all off, not even 3 days later the gel polish chipped on on 2 of my nails. For reference I work a regular desk job and there's to activity that should have chipped them. On the day of the service, Brandon's demeanor was completely different. He was quiet and disengaged. Halfway through the process, I noticed things looked off, his technique didn't resemble any balayage I'd received in the past. My hair was minimally foiled or layered. I showed him the reference photo again, hoping to steer things back on track, but by the time he finished, the results were miles away from what we discussed. The service felt rushed and careless. I left the salon looking nearly identical to how I walked in, aside from a slight root color correction. When I voiced my concerns, Brandon admitted he had rushed the service due to overbooking. We discussed a follow-up appointment to get it fixed, which he framed as a "complimentary touch-up" though let's be honest, it was clearly a redo for a poorly executed job. Still, I gave him another chance, hoping he'd take the opportunity to deliver the quality he had originally promised. Spoiler alert: he didn't. Brandon kept rescheduling the follow-up, often at the last minute. I rearranged work, childcare, and personal plans to accommodate his availability, only to be canceled on without proper notice. Rightfully, I decided not to pursue another attempt. The work should've been done properly the first time, and I no longer had time to waste. Brandon agreed to issue a refund, which at that point felt like the bare minimum. But even that turned into a drawn-out hassle. Communication with him became frustrating and, frankly, bizarre. Instead of taking responsibility for a service he had already acknowledged was rushed and not up to his own standards, Brandon had the audacity to reframe the situation in his favor. He prioritized only his time and implied the issue was with my hair. He portrayed the refund as some kind of generous favor, claiming that other stylists wouldn't have even offered one. Apparently, I was expected to be grateful and wait patiently on his terms and timeline. This entire ordeal has been unnecessarily long and deeply frustrating. I've allowed more than enough time for a professional resolution. The salon has ignored the issue entirely and taken zero responsibility. How this has been handled speaks volumes about their professionalism or lack thereof, and how little they truly value the customer experience. Honestly, I still can't tell what was more overdone, Brandon's ego or audacity. Either way, both came through loud and clear... unlike the balayage!

I'm so happy to have Tracy at Mooi and be a little closer to my house! I first tried sugaring about a year and a half ago and found Tracy at another studio. She was very pleasant and answered all my questions about sugaring, pain, etc. I love that she comes from a medical background so she has my complete trust. My skin is super sensitive and sugaring is WAY better than waxing and shaving is just not really an option for me in more delicate areas. I'm a bit more accepting of my body hair than most and change up my preferences pretty frequently. Every appointment she asks what 'hairstyle' I want and it cracks me up every time. I went to Mooi during Covid and felt very safe, everyone was wearing masks, Tracy wiped high touch surfaces before and after my appointment and obviously wore gloves the entire time. read more

I had a sugar and jelly treatment by Tracy and it is amazing. I have had my face waxed many times and I usually get at least 1 burn spot on because my skim is so sensitive. I have also had many derma planes and I was not happy with the roots of the hair not being pulled out. It would grow back stubbly. Sugar, the perfect solution! No burn marks and deep removal of hair, with no harm to my skin. Top this off with jelly! Oh my! It plumped up my skin and took the sting of the hair removal away instantly.
