Came here 3 years later and nothing has changed. Awful service. Awful blowout. I asked for her to pin it up and she told me there is an extra charge. I said ok. She uses Bobby pins to pin it up. She is doing the same section over and over again. She can't seem to get it. I haven't even walked to my car and they are falling out. I have pics so Brie- if you're reading this please Contact me. I go back in to ask what I paid additional for and she says I don't even book a pin up so should be happy with what I got! Wow! Not to mention how frizzy my hair was left! If a place can't do a basic blow out with pin curls to be opened later and make it frizz free I don't know what's going on! Save yourselves. I literally give up on this place. read more

I scheduled my mom and I a blowout appointment. My mom is a regular here and her usual was booked so we decided to proceed with an appointment with whoever was free. It would've been nice to get both of us done at the same time but there was only one person working in the afternoon. She was not friendly at all. Young not much customer experience and if she has had customer service experience she needs training. I work in CX and so unacceptable here. The blowout was ok. Water got everywhere when hair was being washed, and the style itself after dry was very flat. My hair was straight before the blowout and it didn't look different except for curls on the bottoms. Unfortunately when I called to make my next appointment I was told Janea is no longer worked there. I asked if they had anyone else who could blowout ethnic hair. I was told Melissa could. I was hesitant to make the appointment but took a chance because I had gotten their dye Groupon right after my great experience with Janea. I'm glad I did. Melissa was personable, listened to my requests and though she didn't have a ton of experience with ethnic hair was ready and willing to learn. I would absolutely recommend her to all ethnicities. She doesn't currently do any cuts/trims but her dye & blowout work is spot on. Dye appointment - 8/30/2021 Melissa did a great job of dying my hair. I couldn't find 1 gray in any of the areas I checked. My curls were pretty and had a soft bounce to them. Unfortunately it was raining by the time I left. I should have asked her to take some pix at her station when she finished. Luckily I took some quick pix in the car because by the time I got home my naturally curly hair had begun to poof a little. It didn't look bad, just a little fluffy. No fault of Melissa's. As any natural hair girl knows, when we blow out our curls, humidity is not our friend. Which is why I only blow mine out every 4 - 6 wks or so just to check the health of my ends. Perhaps if we had used a lot of hair hair spray or gel I would have retained more of the structure of the curl but I try not to use those much as my hair leans on the dry side. Regular Blowout appointment - 11/4 Another great result. Melissa was just as friendly as the first appointment. I had slept with pre-poo in my hair the night before the appointment. Melissa said that made brushing it out easier so for any natural hair girl reading this, try doing the same. Especially if you have a tender scalp. Less tangles, less pain in the brush out. Next Day - 11/5 Put hair in loose, low to the nape ponytail. Slept on satin pillow. Woke up with beachy waves that were very much presentable. read more

I've been to Glowout a few times and I must say I haven't been disappointed yet !!!!! My first time was a visit with Emily for my maternity shoot and she made me feel so beautiful literally killed my makeup and hair and gave me exactly what I asked for .. My second time was with Morgan for a bridal shower and mind you at the time she was new and she killed that blowout I received compliments all night and it lasted as long as I need and yesterday I went for a visit with Morgan again and she was super sweet and patient and again killed my blowout ! This salon is super convenient being it is down the way from me ! I love that they open super early on the weekends and they also have late appointments so it's easy to get there ! I've been going to Glowout for close to a year now! They're a great salon and offer more than just blow outs. I've had my hair styled by Mindee, Melissa, and Brie and all of the women who work there do great work! The salon is comfortable, always super clean, never overly loud or crowded either. I really really really want to love this place. It's across from mr house and I am an avid DryBar and Blo Blow Dry bar, whenever I am on vacation. I would completely sign up to use them 2x monthly if I loved them. I gave them 3 tries First time, right after COVID reopening. I got a blow dry and beach wave ... frizzy frizzy... I tried again in November last year, curls looked better but still super frizzy. I went again today and said I want it blow dry straight and smooth with the flat iron. WELL I could do a better job with my Revlon one step. Why am I paying 40 dollars ? I had a better job from the hair cuttery when I asked for a blow dry and flat iron. I asked her to re run the iron through but ugh. I can only complain so much. All they do is blow dry hair no cuts or anything. I shouldn't be in and out in 30 minutes!!! I typically get a blowout weekly I had asked the technician for a specific kind of blowout, which is pretty common. However, she didn't exactly do it the way it asked. Additionally, I told her I needed it for a party the next day, and that it really needed to hold the curl till then, by the time I woke up the next day the entire curl was gone, and it was a waste of money. Typically these kind of things last 3 to 4 days with most blowouts. It was obvious didn't seem very pleased to be there so I would go elsewhere next time. read more

The person who did my hair was lovely, and did a nice job. However, I had to wait 20 minutes past my service time, and staff (not the person who did my hair) were beyond rude. I don't know who the manager on duty was but that person failed. I arrived several minutes before my appointment time, and one of the staff told me to have a seat - it would be a few minutes. All three staff were doing hair. Clearly, the person scheduled to do my hair had started the previous appointment late, but no one had the curtesy to tell me that a few minutes would be twenty minutes, and when I asked after about 15 minutes, I was told again, a few minutes. When I said that was not an acceptable answer as I had wedding logistics, the person doing my hair said about another five minutes. The point - I should have been told when I arrived. Also, their own policy charges you 50% if you are ten minutes late, and absolutely no discount was offered for my inconvenience. I will never go back. Totally unprofessional. read more

The salon is absolutely amazing especially on a time crunch. I had an unexpected important luncheon to attend and was so grateful they could blow out my hair quickly and phenomenally! Always appreciate a good blow out. The fact that the salon is super cute and decorated so thoughtfully is a plus. The chairs are actually comfortable and they use the high quality products. I got the deep conditioning too because I felt like my hair was feeling duller lately and I think it worked. I have to say my stylist wasn't the friendliest but I wasn't in the mood to talk so it was fine and she got the job done. I don't live in the area anymore but it feels a little expensive for the suburbs. It's about the same for blowouts in the city. 9 minutes agoNEW I am extremely shocked and saddened with the service experience at this place in my neighborhood! Extremely unpleasant and unprofessional staff!! I have been a regular loyal customer, even paid in advance for a package and was always generous with tips. However today I was only 10 minutes late. The lady at the front desk decides to enforce "policy" and is rudely informing me she is going to charge me extra while casually chewing gum in my face! Meanwhile another girl yells out loudly in front of everyone that she has to charge me 25 dollars for being few minutes late. I reminded her I was a loyal customer and would not come back to which she laughs in my face again in front of entire crew and customers we have many regular customers. Very disrespectful. Clearly they have no care for their loyal customers. Will never go back here. So sad that this is their level of customer service read more

I had a late afternoon appointment for a blowout for a special occasion. The technician seemed to use a lot of products on my hair but although it was a perfect weather day my hair was flat after 6 hours. I asked for my hair to be curled. The technician curled the front flipping back which I didn't like. I was unable to see what she was doing as she kept me turned away from the mirror most of the time. The most disturbing thing was that after she finished I asked to see the back of my hair by using a hand held mirror. She looked around and said she didn't have one. I have NEVER been to a hair salon that has no way of allowing you to see the back of your hair. This was a complete waste of $60 and I will never go back or recommend this salon. read more

Absolutely bad service!! These guys are experts in business malpractices- save your money and find a better blowout bar! Here's a summary of the ordeal i went through- I booked my appointment for Sunday being told that there is a new customer discount for a blowout- when i went to the appointment, i was told it only applies on tue-wed, and when i asked to reschedule to then, they cancelled and charged me cancellation for sunday! On top of that, when i questioned that, the girl at the counter got frustrated and started shouting at me and misbehaving making a comment of 'get out'. I went to this place twice for a styling and thought my hair came out great. But I had booked a styling for today with the same stylist I went to, and the day of, I got a confirmation that they changed my stylist to someone I didn't know. When I called to ask why, there was no apology and they told me the stylist I booked is on vacation. I booked my appointment months ago, and was never told then. They wouldn't have even told me today if I hadn't called, and I thought that and her attitude were extremely unprofessional. I've never been to a hair salon that changes your stylist without notice. But if they had to, would have appreciated an apology or at least asking if I was okay with someone else. They seem very inexperienced. I have been going to Glowout Blow Dry Bar since they first opened. I would get a simple blowout and was happy. I had a wedding yesterday and had an appointment with Emily for an Up Do. I asked for a low, centered formal bun (showed a picture). When my hair was done, she did not show me the back of my head with a mirror. After spending $80, I saw the back of my head in my car and the bun was not centered, there were fly aways everywhere and I had black bobby pins in my blonde bun. I went back inside and very nicely asked for it to be fixed whenever they have time. The stylist, Emily gave me attitude and reached out to the owner. DONT DO IT! I have two daughters with extremely long hair. They have been growing their hair for years. Took Megan 5 minutes to make my older daughter look like George Washington. She has no skill to do curtain bangs. Doesn't blend. Just awful. So my ex takes my youngest daughter, against my wishes, to Megan. (Eeek). Somehow this woman accomplished making butt length silky gorgeous hair a ball of frizz. Right up to the root. She cuts into the ends and make the hair split upwards. AMAZING. I moved to NJ from nyc during covid and I was so used to getting my weekly blowout. In this area, lord, a good nail salon is already a rare find. This place is great, they use IGK products, and Melissa who always does my hair, she's amazing. Always give me as much time as I want/need for my hair, always curls and adds volume just exactly as I want it (like she can read my mind!), beyond friendly and funny, and getting appts here is super easy. Also, their blowout is slightly cheaper then the other "blow out bars" where appt are a nightmare and service is hit or miss. This is the spot, the end. Absolutely had the best experience at this blow dry bar! I drove an hour from my house to get my hair done and enjoyed every minute from the moment I walked in. The girls that work there act like you're a burden on their busy busy schedules even when you've scheduled an appointment and are asking for basic services. I came into my appointment and the girl literally had me sit in the waiting area for 15 mins while she was on her phone. When I asked her when we'd get started, she got very annoyed and claimed that I was late. I told her to get me in touch with her manager and very quickly she put me in a chair. I wasn't comfortable at this point to have her work on me so I asked for someone else, who surpringly also claimed she was so busy and overbooked while walking out for lunch and a cigarette. I eventually got makeup done and it felt like I was getting my eyes and skin ripped off. Do not recommend this place at all. read more
