Suddenly, the week before my appointment Theresa would not be in the salon that day (kinda short notice but may have been unavoidable) They recommended Presley she's new, but they assured me she was excellent--checked out her IG looked good (she was a new stylist...my intuition was screaming NO)...went last Saturday she was messy with product, I had to ask to wipe bleach off my gown 3 times so it didn't ruin my clothes and she insisted I need a shadow root (I disagreed but she convinced me it created a more gradual grow out)....right before she ron es my color I felt like rubber bands were being pulled out of the roots and it was odd and taking longer than expected l-- but the color looked great and I was pleased. That evening I was outside at an event and when I got back to my car there were a Mohawk of broken hairs all standing up from my part and my scalp was red. After I washed and blow dryer my hair Thursday my entire top layers of hair are broken and stick out--no flyaways--broken fried hair oh and despite a good trim my ends are fried and the color Looks nothing like the day I left. I contact the salon they ask for pics and say it may be Tuesday before management can "review" ...they'd have to see it in person--but didn't schedule me?!?? Refunded my money and I begged them to tell me what to do now to prevent further damage (like a treatment or product) they basically said don't use heat--cool so I spent 200$++my hair is totally destroyed and it's getting worse everyday BUT as long as I never style my hair it will get better (these 1 inch broken hairs will take 5 years to grow to my current length)!! Absolutely appalling--they literally dgaf if all my hair breaks off and is ruined--Wow!! A refund doesn't fix what she did and they do NOT care-this is a crappy salon! Update they texted me today to tell me that because of my Yelp review they won't be able to service me anymore bc I made it very clear how I felt about their salon. This person actually implied me using a jot tool caused the damage!!! So, shockingly the son will not try to fix my hair or even pay to have color correction expert service my destroyed hair.

Beyond it being a beautiful salon when you walk in, everyone here is incredibly kind and welcoming! Claire did my consultation and even though I wasn't sure how to explain what I was looking for, she knew exactly what I was looking for. She made me feel comfortable and confident in my upcoming appointment. During my consultation she also fixed my curtain bangs, and they fit my face so much better than what I had before and gave me so much confidence. She was so fun and easy to talk to as well. Columbia does not have many noteworthy spa locations so my fingers and toes were crossed for OCCO and they did not disappoint. All the staff I interacted with was really lovely. I had a less than 10 minute wait time for my services and the teams hand walked me between professional which was really lovely. They even carried my stuff, just that golden touch! I went on a Monday night, during the time of Covid. Highly recommend. Fantastic service and zero wait time. Both massage therapist and cosmetologist were not talkative and I was actually able to relax. Lovely little waiting room with treats and drinks. It was winter but it looks like they are mindful and provided lots of seasonal items as well. The pedicure/manicure area also looked lovely, even though I did not use this service. I would come back for it though. They have a card on file and it makes it so much easier at check out when all you want to do is relax and not have to dig in your purse. The worst experience I've ever had in my life. Never have I had to take a moment and gather myself,…read moremy thoughts, and be left unable to speak from the knot on my throat. I've delayed writing this review because I hate to relive it in the memory of what transpired. I asked for a haircut and for my highlights to be retouched. I explained how it was important that they be as close to my scalp as possible and that I needed to be within regulations for my job. In the span of 4 hours, I got the worst lived in roots, worst job I've ever received in my life. Besides her being rough as hell on my head and hair (like combing it and ripping my hair through), the job was so insanely messy. I'm use to stylists being careful and clean when handling my hair and head but I can't stress enough this was the worst treatment. My forehead, neck, and ears were stained from how messy they were and instead of cleaning up after themselves they just said "it's just hair dye." as in I was being dramatic, but I have never paid a high amount of money to walk out with my skin irritated and died from their unprofessionalism. We spoke about color and I told him that eventually I was going to go blonde and I was working with Ulta to eventually get there but for now I just needed the highlights to reach my scalp because I had an inch of new hair growth that I needed to cover. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, they tried to weasel out of it by saying it was my fault for not having a picture. So they literally didn't communicate that they didn't understand the assignment and did whatever the heck they wanted. and the only reason it took four hours was because they were working on four other people while they were working on me. I've never had a stylist leave me to go work on somebody else. So for $360 my hair ended up fried. I've never left a salon with wet fried hair where I've had to hide it. My sergeant ended up telling me that I was out of regulation and needed to go dye it immediately. I had no choice, but to dye my hair black from box dye. This has been by far so traumatizing, having to go back in there and ask for a refund where they continue to say that it was a miscommunication on my part, even though when I told them what I wanted, they kept saying things like " we're gonna get you right". The one lady who worked on me was rude and never realized how distraught I was. She kept blaming me for her bad work. The manager who I guess was being taught by this lady basically repeated what I had been trying to say, which I appreciated, but said I could return tomorrow and get it fixed. Not only had I already wasted four hours with them, but they wanted me to continue and my Sergeant was not having any of that. My hair is ruined now and my efforts in going blonde... Well, you can imagine

I do have long hair and the highlights didn't reach the tips unfortunately. However, Pam (the stylist) was very good at giving my long thick hair a proper cut. And still was able to maintain the length which many stylists fail to do. Overall I would say that she is very knowledgeable in what she does, and I my only hope for next time is that my full head of highlights is what I hoped for... I ended up having to get them re-done in California, and I do hope to use Pam to do a retouch if necessary. I believe she can definitely get the job done now that she knows how my hair processes.

I had an entire conversation with Kelsey over how I wanted to accentuate my natural waves. At the end of the appointment, she blew my hair out straight and I paid for the appointment. By Thursday, at my first washing since the cut, my cut looked more like a bob, and the bangs were 2 different lengths. No layers were added. Friday Morning, I called Kelsey to tell her, but she said she wouldn't be able to get me in until the following Tuesday. She also didn't offer a refund, but insisted she couldn't get me in any sooner. There are some other things too, but I'm tired of typing. In short I will have to pay another salon to fix my cut to how I want it. I've called the main salon twice, asking to speak with the manager or owner and have left messages both times. After 2 days, neither has returned my call. I won't go to this salon for any service ever again.
