If you want a guaranteed pickup then go to another company. My son was home for a long weekend recently and wanted to stay as long as possible. I booked the return ticket for a Sunday afternoon. As requested by GMG we arrived at the pickup location 30 minutes before the departure time to board, that was at 2:30. By 2:50 we became a little concerned but thought that perhaps traffic had caused a delay. Departure was scheduled for 3. At 3:15 we attempted to call the weekend emergency number and received no response. At 3:30 my son was able to find a friend who was late heading back to school and he took a ride with him. When I contacted GMG on the next business day they suggested that I write them an email requesting an explanation. Why couldn't I get one on the phone? Did the bus ever show up? The operated had no clue. The price was great but I can't risk the bus not showing up again. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! I wish I could give them a 0. I never write review for anything but I am so upset with GMG transport that I feel I must warn everyone about them. DO NO USE GMG. THEY ARE SCREWING OVER COLLEGE STUDENTS. THEY HAVE A MONOPOLY ON THE AREA RIGHT NOW. They do not tell you your total at the end of purchase and charge more to your card over things they do not tell you about upfront such as arriving and departing on separate weeks, "priority" weeks and so on. THE PRICING IS DECEITFUL. The customer service is even worse. They will not help students or passengers for anything. "We don't have to", "it's YOUR problem" and "if we have to do it for you, we have to do it for everyone" are things they say over stupid things that can easily be solved, like, oh I don't know, telling me why my card was overdrafted with an additional $30 charge to the $55 ticket. THE SERVICE SUCKS. The people are rude and you have to call them more than 10 times to reach anyone. When they answer the phone, they are exasperated and want nothing to do with you. THE BUSES STINK and the wi-fi is a lie. The ACs dont work and asking the drivers for anything will earn you a rude comment and a command to go sit back down. I have ridden gmg almost every month for over a year, but I HAVE HAD IT. They are only getting WORSE. These people are scamming others and taking advantage of college kids with no rides. I AM NOT USING GMG ANYMORE. THEY HAVE ROBBED ME OF OVER $80 and after talking to some other people on my last bus ride, I'm not the only one!! AND WE ARRIVED ALMOST 2 HOURS LATE. DO NOT USE GMG!! A few words I would use to describe this company? Theives. Criminals. Liars. Unprofessional. Their so called "premium weekend" rules and policies are absolutely ridiculous and are not well advertised on their site. I came home to visit my boyfriend and his family this weekend for Father's Day, which is apparently considered a premium weekend. I wanted to extend my trip a little longer, so per the information on their website we emailed them with the request. When we didn't hear back within the 24 hours that they say on their website you are supposed to wait, we called.....and called. And called. And called. And called. And called. And left messages and sent more emails. Finally I just sat there and called nonstop until someone answered. When someone did, I explained the situation (including that they hadn't responded to me at all via email and would not answer the phone). We were told they couldn't help us and if we wanted to change the date the only option was to spend another 50 dollars and purchase a one way ticket on the date we wanted because we didn't not submit a request within the 72 hours that is required for a change in ticket during premium weekends.......even though we had been calling, emailing and leaving voicemails for over 72 hours. They've robbed us of hundreds of dollars over the years due to this absolutely ridiculous way of doing things. Not to mention the wifi that they supposedly have on almost all of their buses, does not work nor has it ever worked. It is simply a pawn in order to get you to buy a ticket. Do not use this bus service. The extra 20-30 dollars you will spend on Red Coach is worth it to not have to deal with these pricks and their ridiculous and poor customer service. I am a student at UF who used the gmg bus service about two weeks ago.Absolutely terrible bus service. I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone. EVER. Honestly, the first sign of something being off, that I should have noticed is when I tried to load the bus, and my name wasn't even on the list. They weren't even going to the city I paid a ticket fare for. I got there fifteen minutes early. I was able to get on the bus about an hour later. The buses, by the way, are absolutely terrible. They smelled very, very strongly of cat pee. The door to one of the buses ( I rode one bus down and a different bus up to Gainesville) does not close properly and can be heard rattling loudly in its frame. Some of the seats had literal chucks missing from the seats. The seat I was in on the way back had a chunk missing from the middle, and had a piece of metal poking through it. There is absolutely no wifi on either bus, so don't expect that either. No AC as well for my trips, and since it was raining lightly on my way down (no rain on the way up), it got humid very quickly. Apparently the bathroom was out of service on the bus (I didn't need it, but people around me did). We arrived at my bus stops, which was, by the way, one of the first few stops they made. We arrived about a hour and a half late to my stop. On the way back, the bus was late by about an hour. I attempted to call the company multiple times during this wait and had gotten no answer. At all. I called ALOT of times. We were of course, late when we arrived in Gainesville; and of course, the drama does not stop there. I was charged a 25 dollar card decline fee, on Thursday of the NEXT WEEK. After I emailed them explaining that I had received my E-ticket and had not submitted a request for two tickets, and so forth, they refuse to refund me the money that they took out of my account. Which is Fraud, by the way, just in case any of the people at the GMG are reading this, and Fraud is illegal. I'm sorry, but I'm not about to lose twenty five dollars over something I did not do. Especially, when not only Lilliam Paez was extremely rude in the emails I sent her. To quote to example, (When I was asking what was going on with the charge) "THIS INQUIRY IS CLOSED", when anyone would know, given the context of the email, I would clearly respond back, as I had more to say to this and "two requests for reservations under your name came in to our system; both had to be submitted in order for them to be received into our system. You can clearly see that two reservations were received by us." in the second email in response to my own, in which I made very clear that I only submitted one request (These quotes, by the way, are directly copied and pasted from our exchange) . I tried calling the company in hopes of better results, during which the woman who answered me would let me say a few words at a time before SCREAMING over me while I was talking. It got to the point where I had to literally ask her to stop talking and to listen to what I was saying because she was jumping to random conclusions out of context in the conversation I was attempting to have with her, and that unless she would actually listen to my problem, she was never going to help me. When she finally let me talk, and she studly suggested I let the TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS go, and give up on pursing the matter. Which was, of course, not fine by me, and I told her quite clearly that you cannot charge someone for something they did not do, that was Fraud, and I fully intend to pursue the matter, she merely responded with " You do what you feel like you have to do, but we have the records of what happened." and then she promptly HUNG UP ON ME. Further attempts by my parents to work with the company have failed as well. This company does not care about its costumers and clearly, about doing their job not only effectively, but legally as well. I will never suggest for anyone to use this company again, and I highly doubt I ever will either. They need to get put out of business. Oh, and Brigette S.? I'm pretty sure opening someone's packages are illegal, and I would talk to someone with experience in law. The only thing good I can say for that company, is that the first bus driver I had (I don't know his name.) seemed to try his very best to be polite enough to make up for the fact I had to bake in the sun for an hour before getting on the bus, because they (the company) messed up the schedules. Very unprofessional overall though. I'm surprised they managed to survive this long. Due yourself a huge favor and book so other bus. I would gladly have paid for another bus ticket on a much more expensive bus, if it meant I didn't ever have to deal with as terrible of an experience as this. Please, don't ever, ever riding on this bus service, and stop your friends from riding on it too. It just isn't worth it, no matter what the difference in prices. I've taken GMG a few times now, but never have I had such a terrible experience as I did my last trip. I've even been on a GMG bus where the tire blew out and we were stranded for 3 hours, yet this last trip tops that. The bus driver refused to turn on the air conditioning because he claimed it was cold outside, so it must be decent on the bus. This was not the case. Passengers were beginning to sweat, desperately turning the vents to try to get some air. THREE HOURS into the ride, and only after complaints, he turns on the air. I thought this was the end of my misery, but it had just begun. The air blowing turned out to be hotter than room temperature. This means that an already hot bus was now blowing hot air onto the passengers. Women started putting up their hair, people were shaking their shirts, more hands reached for the fans, and I started to feel dizzy as I was getting dehydrated. I developed a headache, and the lights that were supposed to be turned off only exasperated it. He even flipped the light off accidentally when arriving at the first stop because he didn't realize he had never turned the lights off. After another hour and more complaints, he made the air the slightest bit cooler so we weren't in danger of heat stroke. Never again will I give this company my money. My daughter is on her way to Tallahassee on your bus 7/17/16. At 5:51 p.m., I received a text from her that the tire has blown. The driver advised them that it would be 1 hour to 1/12 hours. It is now 8:25 P.M. and she has advised me they are still sitting on the side of the road in the bus. One of the passengers called Uber and is on his way to Tallahassee. They have not even reached Orlando yet!!!! I have called numerous times to be told that a tire company is on its' way....... I looked up this National Tire company and found nothing on the internet. I will be calling the owner tomorrow as this is NOT acceptable!!!! It is now 8:41 and still no movement of the bus!!!!! 3 HOURS SITTING ON THE SIDE OF THE TURNPIKE!!!!!! I WILL NEVER NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN AND I HOPE EVERYONE WILL SEE THIS BEFORE BOOKING YOUR SERVICE!!!!!! The most horrible experience ever with Lilliam Paez (operations manager/Owner). This woman is rude and unprofessional. My son is a UF student and arrived 2 mins prior to departure to find that the bus had already departed. He called to find out what happened and this hideous woman gave him the same ol' BS about their policies. How do you have the heart to deny a student a ride back home to see his family? He paid for the ticket. I don't understand how a company can honestly take money without giving service? If he did indeed miss the bus place him on the next shuttle. When I called to find out what happened she was rude and would not let me speak. My purpose for this review is to let the students and or parents considering using this company to stay away. Use a reputable company with more flexible policies even if its a bit more expensive. I have never come across a more gross person in my life. DO NOT USE THIS BUS SERVICE. TRUST ME...I WOULDN'T HAVE MADE AN EFFORT TO POST THIS REVIEW IF I HADN''T HAD THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. She basically preys on students because there is a good chance they may arrive a bit late and her policies are set in stone. She won't budge even if its the pope.
