Always clean, and the staff has always been pretty friendly. I brought my daughter in this weekend to get checked out since our family Dr isn't open on the weekends. The treating PA was sweet and gave us a referral, and went through all of our options. I'm glad we made an appointment ahead and were in and out. From the moment you walk in, the young ladies at the front desk are always smiling, welcoming, and happy to assist. The staff who bring you back and get you settled into your room are just as kind, and the doctors and medical staff genuinely seem eager to listen and help. You can tell that patient care is a priority here. I was assisted by Kiersten today, and she was absolutely wonderful. She is truly in the right line of work. She didn't simply treat the immediate problem--she took the time to ask questions, research further, and try to understand the root of what was going on. I had an appointment scheduled today for a radio frequency ablation that should cut down my pain level a good amount. I showed up for my appointment. The girl at the front desk asks for my name. She looks in the computer which shows I'm not scheduled. She makes a phone call to another employee to see what happened to my appointment. A few minutes later another lady(Susan)comes to the front and walks me to the back. She was extremely rude and loud. She tells me I have a $3,100 balance from 2021. Due to that my appointment was cancelled unless if I can pay the whole amount then and there. I explain to her that I never received a bill. The insurance I had at that time always paid 100% of my procedures. Susan very rudely tells me that it is not her problem and shrugs her shoulders. I asked her why no one called me ahead of time to inform me that my appointment was canceled since I have a balance. I took a couple of days off of work for this procedure. I fasted for 8 hours. I mentally prepared myself for this procedure that is quite painful. I arrange for a ride since I was going to have sedation. Worse of all, I was thinking I was going to have some pain relief. Due to Surgery Center of Reno's lack of communication and lack of organizational skills in their billing department, my procedure was cancelled and I have to start the process of scheduling another appointment somewhere else which will probably take months while being in a lot of pain. I work in health care. I couldn't imagine treating a patient as poorly as I was treated by Susan today. You are dealing with patients who are in severe pain and or who need surgery/procedures. To tell a patient once they arrive that they can't be seen due to a bill from two years ago that they were not aware of who is in extreme pain is extremely unprofessional. These were used to close a gash that resulted from a fall while backpacking. The Staples had been applied by an Emergency Room Doctor. This was my first experience with Staples, and I found it to be quite painful. I wasn't looking forward to the process of having them removed. The process of check in was fast, efficient, and professional. I had set up the appointment online, and everything went well. When I first met the Doctor who would be assisting me, Dr. Jessica Chen, she was friendly and immediately put me at ease. Dr. Chen inspected the wound and the Staples. She cleaned the area and then removed the first Staple. She had a difficult time locating the second Staple as it was scabbed over. She then soaked the area, and after a few minutes she was able to remove it without any pain. In summary the check in was great, and Dr. Chen was AWESOME. A definite 5 Star experience.
