Or rather, it's ballpark Korean, kind of like Taco Bell is in the ballpark of Mexican food. It's kind of like Chipotle: you can build your own bowl. Start with greens or rice or noodles. Sweet potato noodles, which don't taste like sweet potato, but come across as close to rice noodles. I also got the Korean beef, which is pretty much bulgogi. And a few veggies: corn, pickled onions, sprouts. I forgot the avocado I wanted, but that is extra anyway. I got all that as a free bowl because I have the app. You had to spend five dollars, so I got a side of pineapple and a drink, for six dollars total. So yes, free food probably swayed my opinion a bit. But also it was pretty good, and at least slightly healthy. And the service and atmosphere were excellent. Helped by a couple of people behind the counter, and they were fast, friendly, and helpful. The place is bright and clean. Not super big, but with efficient seating for a couple dozen people. Parking was easy. All in all a good experience. I'm still not a huge fan, because I like real Korean food and this only hints at that. But for a fast, reasonably cheap, reasonably healthy meal, this is a decent option.

I don't like carrots and I couldn't stop grabbing a piece Drinks: * The Sycamore Old Fashion... very strong, but I like strong drinks Cost: $33 w/o tip | $44 with tip (split between 2 people) * What we ordered: Sticky carrots Meze Scallops (not on happy hour menu) The Sycamore Old Fashion Italian 90 *Comes with complimentary bread. Also, gluten free options* Best for: Casual check in Low key date maybe if you work near German Village. Traffic during happy hour is a bit backed up I wouldn't go for solo dining, unless I sat outside during warmer weather. However, the feeling is best for a quick get together with 1-2 friends. Would I come back? ... Yes! Definitely for Happy Hour.

It was the perfect spot for a relaxed, drawn-out dinner where we could enjoy drinks, take our time, and really soak it all in. We had a reservation and were seated right away, which set the tone for the night. Everyone ordered cocktails (I've heard the espresso martini is one of their best, even though coffee isn't really my thing), and honestly, you can't go wrong with anything on the drink menu. We started with the Meze, which included house-made falafel, tzatziki, hummus, sun-dried tomato couscous, assorted vegetables, and naan--everything was fresh and so flavorful. They also brought out complimentary focaccia right away, which was such a nice touch. For my main, I ordered the seasonal scallops, and I also tried the chicken thighs with fig, goat cheese, asparagus, parmigiano reggiano, and couscous--both were absolutely amazing. I'd go back in a heartbeat just to try more of the menu. We were there for about 2-3 hours, and at no point did we feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing the staff. The entire experience felt thoughtful, welcoming, and just really special. Highly recommend The Sycamore for your next date night or girls' dinner!

The Pad See Ew was so freaking good. Containing Majority wide noodles with chicken. It had so much flavor. I could tell just by the aroma the truck was giving off from a distance the food was going to be fire. I don't know what kind of vinegrate it was in the small containers but it seemed to be of a sweet pepper or banana pepper and it was so pleasing with the noodles. Great execution and I cant wait to try more!

Here is what I got: Pad Thai Chicken | First, the pile of noodles just about to burst out from the to-go box. The flavor is just right, with topping of peanut, bean sprout, lime and some chili flake. I would definitely need to eat this on the spot next time. Lao Chicken Wings | Slightly fried chicken wings and well marinated. Crispy outer part and juicy within. Umami peek through with hint of fish sauce. Lao Sausage with Sticky Rice | The sausage is super flavorful. Mainly packed with pork with spice and vermicelli, topped with freshly chopped cilantro. The lemongrass flavor really peek through and I love it. Pair well with the sticky rice alongside and the chili paste. Thai Tea | I like their version of Thai Tea. It is less sweet than the regular one and have a hint of saltiness

It's in the spot where Republic used to be, and Dough Mama before that, and other things before that. Small, no restroom, only a few seats. Interesting menu, and a dessert case full of gorgeous items. I got the brie BLT, which I think I would call the BrieLT. I like brie, and I like BLTs, but I never thought of putting them together. It works so well. Great bread, fresh veggies, perfect bacon, and luscious brie. So, so good. (I once had a brisket and brie sandwich at a barbecue place, and it also worked well there. Apparently I need to put brie on some sandwiches.) You can get chips as a side, or you can get a fruit cup or salad. I got the salad, and it was excellent too. Perfectly fresh veggies, great dressing. Loved it. Service was minimal, of course, but great. Price was very good for a ton of food. I got a cookie to go for Kid K. I'll definitely be back.

We were visiting from out of town and went back inside after we were done eating to ask for local recommendations - which he gladly provided. We really appreciated that! One final note - there is minimal inside seating and seasonal outdoor seating. Definitely a great to-go spot though if no seating is open.
