I love this Drug Mart! It's got such an old-school feel, and everyone who works there is so friendly. The pharmacy team is amazing -- when my son needed a 6-week steroid taper, one of the techs actually wrote out by hand a full calendar for us and even redid it when the dosage changed. They truly care about their customers, and I never have to wait long for prescriptions. Plus, they have all kinds of fun random stuff to browse while you're there! read more

I get out to Discount Drug Mart from time to time because my wife is a bargain shopper and won't allow me to buy bananas from anywhere else but this location (ikr?). Seriously, their cost for bananas is significantly less. But I must admit, they do have a great pharmacy with a good team working there. They've given me great advice on meds as well as vitamins that I should take to maintain good health. Their turnaround time is really good and they encourage you to ask questions. They have a small deli that won't grab your attention, but if you try their products, they're actually pretty good. They have pre-made deli sandwiches, but sometimes you'll get an attendant that is welling to make you a fresh sandwich. The young man that made mine was quite generous with the meat and prepared an awesome sub for me. I don't think he's there anymore and the ladies I've dealt with since were quick to tell me that they have sandwiches already made. *sigh* I miss that dude. lol Anyway, as a Drug Mart goes, it's pretty much like all the rest in other categories, but I will add that their cashiers up front are extremely pleasant. I'd say that makes them worth visiting when I'm in the area. read more

This chain is quite stocked, being a drug store. Food, health/beauty, housewares, a deli in the back, photo, etc. I always picture it as a much much smaller version of Kroger. Usually same, if not a bit cheaper, prices compared to other grocery stores (Walmart, Giant Eagle, Kroger, etc). I normally only stop in here, when I know exactly what I'm looking for. Usually works to the advantage. I didn't realize, however, how much more this store offers. The only down side? They're usually always under-stocked in something or other. Can be a bummer. read more

Words cannot express my gratitude for this location and its employees. I have never seen such wonderful customer service! On Saturday I set out to purchase balloons to be used for a bachelorette party I was hosting later that day. After purchasing balloons from a local Party City, I was given the news that it would be three hours before I could pick up the balloons I purchased if I wanted the store to inflate them. I decided to take my chances, and take the balloons elsewhere. I frantically called all over the area trying to find a store that would blow up my balloons. After about the third call, I received a friendly greeting from a Drug Mart employee saying they could blow up my balloons. I rushed to the store (having only two hours to spare before the party started). I was met by Todd, the manager who so graciously agreed to blow up the balloons I had purchased. Keeping in mind that I had over 20 balloons to have inflated, I warned Todd that I had quite a few. He was more than willing to help! He called two other employees (Carolyn M. and Sue D.) to come over and assist. They were all so wonderful and willing to help! They even gave us additional clips to use when fastening the balloons later that day. What could have been an extremely disappointing and stressful event turned out to be successful and wonderful! I am so thankful that Todd and his employees were able to accommodate my request. They certainly didn't have to as none of the balloons were purchased at Drug Mart, and there is a helium shortage! This is truly an example of a company putting the customer first. Everyone was so kind and so willing to help. This experience has made me a forever customer at the Drug Mart location in Pickerington. Thank you all so much for your kindness and assistance! This store is much, much more than just a drug store. Yes, it does fill prescriptions and offers various over-the-counter medicines. Predictably, it also has a wide variety of toiletries. Drug Mart ups the ante by stocking a corner grocery store's worth of food and cleaning supplies. They also rent movies. I didn't think anyone other than Blockbuster rented movies anymore! Oh, and they offer the largest selection of plungers that I've ever seen. No joke. They have near-industrial-size models. They have regular household-size plungers. They also have tiny plungers that can't be any more than a few inches in diameter. Are these for miniature toilets? I hope so. I love that I can go in one store and rent a movie, buy some bratwurst and pick up an industrial plunger. There are a couple more Drug Mart locations around Columbus. Check them out. read more

Jill did show me how to use blood sugar test machine 1st time I have to use it at home, explain/select over count medicine, finding best price for my prescription, ... What I love best at Discount Drug Mart is the deli. I enjoy purchasing the Amish cheese and the potato salad. I like that they carry all the usual drug store items and so much more. They have groceries, produce, bread, dairy, automotive supplies, cleaners, movie rentals and more. This past winter a secretary at work was asking if anyone knew where she could find a fan. I had to pick up a nebulizer for my asthma. Drug Mart was the only place in Pickerington I could get one right away. I had no choice but to pay $69.99. The exact nebulizer in 6 different sites on line was $45. I asked the pharmacist why such a large price difference. He said that is just what they charge. What, are they expecting me to turn this exonerated cost over to my insurance so they can screw my insurance company? read more

For anyone looking to get a DME product filled be certain to talk with your insurance and be clear on your coverage. Under the new healthcare reform breast pumps are now covered under your insurance. Discount drug mart is actually frauding their customers. If the pharmacy is in your insurance network breast pumps are covered @ 100%. The pharmacy in Pickerington, Ohio informed me that they are charging patients the price difference between what the insurance approves and the actual cost. Example if the double breast pump costs $300 your insurance may only reimburse the pharmacy up to $200 the pharmacy is then charging you the difference. What most people don't know or understand is that "in-network" means that pharmacy signed a contract that they will accept the approved amount and not charge the consumer the additional cost. I have filed a complaint with my insurance company and this has started a investigation into the practice. Please understand your coverage by calling your insurance as I feel the employees were trying to pull a fast one on us. This is a clear violation of contracts and could be possibly bordering violating federal health care laws and state board of pharmacy regulations. read more
