The service I received was excellent, and Lucas, who helped me, was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and thorough in explaining the products. Products are easy to find anywhere, but it is not always easy to know what to choose or what is best for each person. Everyone has a different body type and different goals, so it makes a big difference when you are helped by someone who truly understands the products, pricing, and promotions. Lucas took the time to explain the differences between the products and helped me understand that what I originally thought was right for me was not necessarily the best option. This GNC is right in the middle of Hillcrest, always has a knowledgeable person working the counter. I've gone from a bunch of different recommendations from the dudes working here. Whether its preworkout or protein, if ended up liking and sticking with their opinions. Parking is pretty bad during the day. I strongly recommend parking across the street at the bank of america/wholefoods parking lot(they share spaces). The prices are average gnc prices, if you're not a gold member for whatever reason then you definitely should be. Earning points for cash back is super simple if you're regularly purchasing supplements in the first place. The return policy is dope, basically if you hate the taste of something you can bring it back I think within the first 30 days... even if you've used it every day. Makes for a confident buy for sure. It's been a while since I started going to this store to get all my supplements, vitamins and the healthiest (and delicious) snacks. I absolutely love every product I buy and the results I have. This location is poorly managed. It's unfortunate because the store associates look like they are active fit people which is good but they lack understanding they are at work, not the gym. I walked into GNC yesterday for the first time in years. This GNC helped me pick out some after workout supplements years ago when I was training for a half marathon and my workouts were so intense I needed some help with recovery. Now, 4 years later I returned wanting the exact same product but quickly realized I had NO idea what I had been using so many years ago. After 10 min in the store, wandering around, feeling like I was being followed by the guy in the store, I decided to do my own research on amazon. I know the guy was trying to be helpful but I only wanted one thing, I didn't know what it was, and I walked away feeling stupid and frustrated. The guy tried to sell me other products, he spoke really fast and it felt really aggressive and pushy. It just made me stop listening. I totally own the fact that I walked in unsure of almost everything, but I think his salesman mentality made him think that he could tell me what I wanted... which does not work with me. Later in the afternoon I ended up going to a different GNC where they were a bit softer and less pushy (and by that time I knew what I had bought in the past). This store is just too much for me, I am not a crazy weight lifter but I do workout 6-7 times a week and need some extra support, but I don't need the entire store, which is what it felt like he was pushing. Rather than listening and giving me space, he pretty much pushed me out the door and this time I will just go to the GNC in Carmel Mountain. read more

Parking sucks but overall this location has good customer service. Alex is the best. Super helpful. He doesn't try to sell you products or push you to buy something . He actually listens to your goals and dietary needs and then gives you a recommendation. I'm lactose intolerant and Alex recommended vegan cheeses and where I could find them. He's very knowledgeable and nice. GNC needs to make him manager. read more

I have previously criticized this store in the past. There has since been a change in staff and it has by far changed my experience shopping here. The manager and staff are all very knowledgable and familiar with the products they carry, thus able to answer any questions I have and when trying new products, you want to to talk to someone who knows about them. I'm not a GNC expert.. But this place served its purpose. I came on a weekday and easily found parking in the shopping center lot. I was greeted upon entering, but not stalked around the store by an associate, which is far too common at stores like this. I was able to find the supplement I was looking for and had a smooth checkout. I was even given a free Quest bar as part of some promotion they're doing. So anyways 5 stars for -- having a parking lot in Hillcrest, no annoying or pressuring sales associates, and an easy checkout. read more

I went to buy some protein and the cashier offered me a free multivitamin upon purchase. I thought it was weird and it immediately struck me as there was something in it for him. It just didn't seem genuine or customer service related at all. The next day I looked through my gnc emails and of course there was a $15 off coupon. Instead of offering my $15 coupon off my $100 purchase, he forced me to purchase a product (gnc multivitamin) that was $15 and acted like he was giving it to me for free. I don't appreciate the dishonesty and won't ever purchase from this GNC again despite it being just a block away from my house. I feel taken advantage of. You obviously see the available coupon. Either offer it with an HONEST recommendation or just don't even offer the damn coupon at all. He could've simply said, "I see you have a $15 coupon available so you can grab a multivitamin for free", gave a few reasons why this multivitamin is nice and I likely would've purchased it anyway. To the owner - train your employees to provide good customer service through honesty and I'm sure you won't have to stoop low for sales. read more

If you run out of supplements and absolutely have to have them then I guess its not a bad place to go. Other then that I have to be honest a say the prices are very very high. They do occasionally run some sales that knock down items by %50 but that is only if you buy another item at full price. I had to wait outside one time for like 15 minutes because the guy inside was going to the bathroom or something and couldn't leave the front unattended. Like I said, if you absolutely have to have your supplements that day go for it. But if you can wait and buy them on line you will save a bundle. read more

I went in the other day to specifically buy some Lenny and larrys cookies, and the guy behind the counter asked very nicely if I needed any help. L I replied no, I found what I wanted. When I brought my purchase up,he asked if "I had ever tried powder instead of this processed stuff". While I know his question was meant in the best I treat, I found the way he asked really off putting. I guess what they say is true- it's not what you say. It how you say it. I also only gave 2 stars because they were out of stock in a lot of the options for what I wanted. Instead of 5, they had 2. Probably won't go here again but a different Location because of this. There was a problem with my auto delivery for the bucked up that was supposed to be canceled (which I called CS) 4 months ago but a day ago had a shipment sitting at my doorstep when I came home from work. Gotta get my amino acids on! So I normally go to the Vitamin Shoppe, but there isn't one near me so I went to this GNC to get my amino acid supplement. I was also looking for a good fat burner to use for days I do cardio. The guy was very knowledgeable, and presented me with several options, and then made a suggested based on my routine and history. He was listening to me, and not just trying to make a sale. This store is very small and their selection is nowhere near as good as it is at the Vitamin Shoppe, but when you are in a bind and need something quick, this is a great local spot to hit up. read more

The customer service that Lucas, the store manager, provided was extraordinary. I have never met a manager or employee who is so genuine and patient in helping customers. I had visited another GNC location a few days ago and was told that I would be getting a discount at my next purchase, which I later found out was some misinformation. Lucas spent 30 mins double checking the information I had recieved previously. He made calls to his supervisor and even to the GNC I had visited trying to help me out.
