Gotta love the owner of this shop and his suggestions when looking at buying anything off the shelf. He's not driven by the big sale and sells you the best value, which has been the case during a few visits. We enjoy CBD products and while one brand in particular has some pretty slick marketing, he'll be the first to admit that it's not the best value. Pull a few bottles, read the labels, do the math, and make the decision that you're most comfortable with. My gym buddy recommended this place to me and I've been grateful ever since! The location of the store is on a one-way street in the heart of Hillcrest . Parking can be hard to find. I usually end up circling around the block a couple of times. Sometimes, I secretly park at Rite Aid down the street. If you are willing to take the risk, it will save you a bit of time on a busy day. Jose is probably the coolest guy I've ever met at a nutritional store. The guy behind the counter is always friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Most people that run a shop like this try to upsell you with a bunch of crap you don't need. But if something is not the best for you, he'll tell you. I always stop in here after the gym to pick up my protein and its always cheaper than buying it at the gym. There was this customer that walked in all tweeked out and then asked for some crazy hardcore ephedra. The guy behind the counter was advocating against it. Went into Nutrimart Hillcrest because they had my protein powder for only a couple bucks cheaper than my web source. With the $10 coupons Nutrimart always circulates it was like $15 cheaper including the shipping I'd have to pay. Even better, I was looking for a few other supplements. The dude matched my price per gram on comparable products. Pretty freaking sweet. Now I no longer have to wait for my supplements to be delivered in the mail. This place is the $hit. Customer service here is the best. The worker is always helpful/friendly and very knowledgeable about what he sells. He doesn't try to sell me crap that I don't need like those scrawny yolos(you on lifted once) that don't know crap about supplements like at gnc. I was there on Sunday the 15th, ONLY because I had gone to a movie at Landmark Hillcrest and I still had time on my 3-hour parking. The sales guy was behind the counter, talking to a couple of people that seemed to be more friends than customers, judging by the conversation. He did not even take notice of me. They only got the 1 damn star because they are in a convenient area. I try to support local businesses because it's nice to see stores open and not a "For Lease" sign in the window and I love seeing Hillcrest alive with opened business. This is why I shop online quite a bit with no qualms. I was running low on protein powder and remembered that they were there. I walked into the store and the guy working there was talking to a customer and he did say hi so I'll give him that. I figured the guy was paying for his items and would be gone soon so I felt no need to interrupt their conversation and waited patiently at the back of the store. Keep in mind the store isn't that big so it's not like I was out of sight. The conversation kept on and one and had nothing to do with supplements after 5 min. Now, if they were the only two people in the store you can talk til the cows come home but when customers walk in, the talking stops and you get off your ass and take care of the customer. I don't care how in shape you are and how good looking you are. NO excuse to be that damn lazy. There are no prices on the products which is what I needed help with and I wanted more information about changing a product. So I suppose I need to interrupt the two so that I can get help spending my money in a store that obviously doesn't care about me. I finally walked out and here is what the guy behind the counter says to me. "Did you have a question I could answer for you". I simply replied "No, that's okay I'd hate to interrupt your conversation" and I walked out. Lame ass decideds to ask if I need help as I am walking out? Here's the pisser, the guy use to work at Nutrisport which was actually what that place was and he didn't even remember me even though we worked out at the same gym in the past and we use to work at the store everytime I went in to buy supplies. There are five stars for Nutrimart itself but want to comment about the public parking (behind Restaurante Arrivederci) that is also managed by Restaurante Arrivederci. Many times I have parked in that lot, went to the parking attendent to get my ticket and shopped at Nutrimart where they have ALWAYS validated it with a stamp. This afternoon at 4:15 PM I parked in car in space 23 in the Public Parking and went to the attendent, an older man with grey hair wearing glasses and an audio headset, to get my ticket but he said it would cost $1.50. I tried to explain that we were shopping at Nutrimart where they would validate my ticket but the man argued that Nutrimart doesn't pay or participate. This man has given us tickets in the past and we always came back with a validation but now he wants us to pay money. I said that he and the other female parking attendent (whose name is Katia) have always given us tickets in the past and he denied and said that he is going to "have a word with Katia". I told him he was full of crap and he screamed at me and said he's worked there for 18 years. This man has business working as a parking attendent, treating people so poorly and trying to skim money from unsuspecting business customers. Parking is an issue in Hillcrest so I may have to shop at another store because of the mistreatment I received by the parking attendent. read more
