It is not something I personally drink but advocates claim that the pasteurization of milk destroys the nutrients, enzymes, and good bacteria. Benefits of raw milk may include more nutrients, improved digestion, and enhanced immune function. Others believe that the benefits are outweighed by health risks associated with consuming raw dairy products. The raw products sold here state they are not for human consumption. In addition to raw milk they also sell raw milk kefir, raw yogurt, raw cheese, raw butter, and raw milk ice cream. Other products they sell include organic produce grown in Southwest Ranches, local honey, hormone free and grass fed meat and seafood, farm fresh eggs, bath and beauty products, bread, and fresh made key lime pies. Staff was on hand to helpfully answer customers questions. I do believe that food is medicine and that it can heal you. This market subscribes to that philosophy. It is a niche for people who don't mind paying more to know where there food comes from, want clean ingredients, or are into a particular lifestyle choice. Right after Thanksgiving, she walked in with a dozen of these beauties. They run $8/dozen and are so worth it. I grew up going to the egg farm in a small town in Massachusetts. I remember surprising my mom one time by riding my bike the five miles and back to bring her two dozen eggs. Yes, that was a one time thing. When the farmer sold his farm after his wife died, the chickens stopped laying eggs for almost a year. Chickens are sensitive to change in their environment. I've bought some other heirloom eggs recently from Southwest Ranches area and I didn't get sick but they made my stomach crawl. The woman from that business also said that her chickens were not laying eggs. Maybe those were old? Maybe they were not organic like these.
