His salad was well-prepared and tasted great I ordered the lentil salad with added salmon and took it to go. When I opened it, I immediately noticed the lentils looked undercooked. After trying them, they were very firm, difficult to chew and tasted closer to raw than properly cooked. This was disappointing because the rest of the ingredients seemed fresh and well put together I called the restaurant I was told the lentils are meant to be "crunchy" but the texture didn't match that at all, they were hard and not enjoyable to eat. To their credit, they did offer to remake or cook them more, but I was already home and it wasn't practical to go back. The setup at this kitchen and market is similar to another I recently visited nearby. You walk in and it looks small, but down the hall you find more seating in the rear and outside by the lake. Not only is the service phenomenal--to where the regulars are greeted by their first name--but the food is healthy, well-seasoned & prepared, and they serve generous portions. I ordered a chicken omelet, a plantain arepa and a house-made detox water. Oh so good! Right before I left, I caught sight of some baked goods. When their brownies called for me, I couldn't be rude and ignore them. I bought a brownie to go which I was told is made from black beans. You would never in a million years know it! It could've been a lot of things. I'm just going to call it a misunderstanding or a language barrier. I used Spanglish and pointed to the menu to identify food allergies before placing my order. I still believe that the Alfredo had milk although I asked before ordering I listed allergies and still received the waffle covered in almonds. They immediately replaced the order. Love coming to Sano whenever I feel like getting a quick, healthy bite. I've been ordering from them for a while and I just find their arepas are perfect every time. I always order the plantain arepa with avocado and ricotta-- it's the perfect mix for these 3 items and I always leave satisfied. We also tried the yuca tequeños and I gotta say I was so pleasantly surprised with how they came out! i think moving forward I'll definitely order those vs the real ones. The only reason I can't rate it 5 stars is because they were quite slow in bringing out our food when we visited on a Sunday at 1pm. We had ordered 2 arepas and the tequeños and had to wait a long while to get them. The tequeños even came after the rest of the food had arrived. Ok I didn't need the carrot cake but got it for later to snack. How could I pass it by since it was made with egg whites, corn flour and stevia sounds like a healthy dessert. The space is nicely decorated, small, clean and a little green thumb decor. I do agree with a previous review, there is a language barrier if you ask one of the employees about the ingredients. However I was able to manage the communication since we also speak Spanish. I would try this place again for when I want to treat myself to clean eats. Until then I will be practicing how to make my own arepas so I can save some money. I love this place! Their food is incredible. The plantain reina pepiada arepa is delicious. I also love their prosciutto and mozzarella pizza. My favorite this has to be hands down the marbled cake. I bake cakes all the time but I have never been able to bake a good tasting healthier cake. Sano's marbled cake tastes like any regular cake but it won't leave you with a guilty conscience. Food was OK, but customer service and professionalism was lacking, so this is one place I won't be coming back to. Fortunately there are plenty of options in Weston. Long story short, my Uber eats order was incorrect so I had to drive back to the store to get my missing items. A member of the staff was aggravated and pretty much on the defense, telling me that they did not have my missing ice cream on their order, but that she was going to give it to me even though it did not show up on their system. The other lady told me that their ice cream melts really fast and would probably be completely melted by the time I got home. (That was a pretty awkward observation in my opinion, not sure if that was her making a case for not ordering ice cream for pick up, I really don't understand what her end goal with that comment was). Reminder to Sano Food staff and management: as a customer it is not my fault that the system has glitches, and while I understand that these things can happen, I expect to either be provided with the items I paid for, or given a refund, not to have restaurant stuff telling me that they are doing me a 'favor' in a passive aggressive manner. Putting all those stuff aside, review on the food: - I was not a fan of the Pizza Isa, mostly because I did not like the flavor of the crust, but that might just be a compromise with a wholegrain healthier option. - Their signature Tequenos variety pack was actually an interesting offer that I liked. - Brownie was not spectacular, but it was good, and a nice portion. - Ice cream I cannot tell you, something about having three people in a huddle back in the kitchen serving me food, where at least two of them appear irritated at me, makes me distrust anything that comes out of that kitchen. This place was wonderful. The waiter was an absolute sweetheart, the girl who worked behind the register was also our waitress for part of the meal and was incredibly kind. She gave us the best recommendations. I believe her name is Amelia(?). We had the tequeños integrales which were amazing, the plantain tequeños were amazing as well, but if I could criticize anything is that in the case of the latter, the taste of the plantain almost overpowers the taste of the cheese, I feel like a slightly more salty cheese would have made it perfect. To take full advantage of the combination of flavors. Our main dish was the zucchini pasta with shrimp and the Alfredo sauce that they make in store, which is made out of cashews instead of milk. My sister ordered an açaí bowl, let me just say that the texture was okay. The color of the açaí was very light and pink. Açaí is usually dark purple and this did not look or taste like açaí at all. She then tried to lie and say that I only been waiting for 15 mins which was bs because my receipt had the exact time of when I played my ordered and clearly 45 mins have passed since then.
