Came here on a Thursday night when they were advertising their thirsty Thursday deal. Drinks were AMAZING. Highly recommend the water lily (wish I had taken a picture). Tasted like a delicious flower. No additional charge for the Caesar salad as a side which was a plus. Caesar salad was delicious by the way, with thick chunks of bacon. Service was amazing. I was really hoping to like this restaurant better. I've been there a few times before it changed to Gnosh and had great meals. Sadly I was disappointed this time. The lighting was pretty dim so I had trouble seeing what was on my plate. The potatoes weren't cooked, nor were the ones on my friends plate. The chicken was just ok. I'm told the pork was good but the lamb was just ok. No complaints about the service. The one thing I noticed was the menu noted after almost every item that it was either Gluten Free, Vegan, or Vegetarian. I'm thinking they're trying to cater to the "nouveau" choosy. I just expected more in that price range. Good location though! read more

A big spacious restaurant and a cuisine I would classify more 'canadian'. I had the fish and it was decent. They change their menu but I would have loved to try some of their Asian inspired dishes. They had a variety of dishes from more traditional to refined to some with some Asian flavours. I would have really loved some more flavourful options for seafood and chicken! Very aesthetically pleasing entrance and design. The lighting sets the mood. I ordered the pork medallion and it was so tender and perfectly cooked. My girlfriend ordered the Salmon and it was excellent. Very fresh. The service was pleasant, just didn't see our waitress a whole lot but she was very friendly. read more

We came to Gnosh on a Thursday specifically to check out their Thursty Thursday menu (which showcases pizzas, mussels and their cocktails at a reduced price) and also to celebrate a birthday. When we were sat, we were told that the Thursty Thursday menu was no longer offered (even though it is quite prominent on their website, which had been recently updated with their NYE dinner options). After speaking with the manager, he told us they would honor the Thursty Thursday menu but that not many of the menu items were still available. We ordered a round of cocktails right off the bat (New York Sour, Black Barrel Sunrise, and Vanilla Bean). The cocktails were delicious - liquor-forward, good balance of alcohol/sweet/sour, and excellently priced (as per the Thursty Thursday pricing). I later also ordered a Basil Daiquiri, and it was quite delicious as well. In terms of the food, we ordered 2 pizzas and some mussels, as well as the Moroccan Phyllo Cigars (a phyllo pastry with ground lamb+pork+beef). The food overall was average - nothing to write home about. The price point was reasonable, again as they honored the Thursty Thursday pricing, but it would not be worth it at the full regular menu price. In terms of service, there were only 2 people working. While I could appreciate they were doing their best, it also did mean service was slower than expected at this price point (e.g. bread+butter did not come until we had finished our cocktails, and only moments before the mains came). The lighting is also a tad too dim, though I really found the decor to be tastefully and artfully decorated (the art, the tablecloths, etc). Overall, Gnosh is basically the same as Blu Duby (its predecessor) - average food at a premium price point. The best thing about this place is definitely the cocktails - they punch well above their weight class on Thursty Thursday. However, as the manager tells us they no longer offer it anymore, there is little reason to return. read more

This is the 3rd time going to Gnosh. I was always a fan of Blu Duby but this is a big disappointment. 1st visit: Cauliflower entree was almost raw and hard to eat. The lemon and pea risotto was lacking in flavour. 2nd visit had the mac & cheese with lobster which tasted like it was from the frozen food section at the grocers. 3rd visit: the duck wontons seemed to be void of any duck at all. I was staying at the Metro hotel and decided to grab a bite to eat that evening. With all the current construction in the area, I didn't feel like venturing too far nor was driving somewhere an option with the limited parking. The restaurant that evening (Monday) wasn't busy at all. In fact, I almost thought it was closed because of the layout and where people were sitting when I looked in the window. About 2-3 tables occupied. Given all the construction and road closures in the area, I was surprised to see anyone in there at all to be honest. Not sure if the lighting was set the way it was or it was just naturally that dark, but it was darker than most places I go to for dinner (it was great if you were going for a cozy, romantic dinner) but otherwise, it was very nice inside. The waiter/bartender was pleasant and friendly. Gave me the run down on the day's specials and gave us time to look over the menu as well. (Given he was the only one on the floor, the service was a little slower than normal but that was fine for me since I wasn't in a rush to be anywhere and I'm sure the cast on his hand/wrist had some play into his ability to bring everything out faster) ;-) I had a half pint of the Amber beer/lager on tap (which was really good! The weird thing was, they had a wine list but no beer list even though they served beer. So it was a tad annoying as I wanted to look the beer up to see if it was available in stores but couldn't) and I ordered the organic burger. The burger was good. A bit on the messy side (mostly just the cheese oozing out) but not extreme. The fries though, were amazing! Now, I've had fries with burgers, and on their own in restaurants before (including some of those high end overpriced trendy restaurants in Toronto) and I have to say, the fries here, were by far some of the best I have ever had! Not sure if this is a one off as it was my first time dining there, but they were definitely the highlight of my meal, which is saying a lot if the fries are what I am raving about! They were light, crispy and not greasy at all! My dining partner had the gnocchi mac and cheese with bacon and lobster and really liked it. It was a perfect size for them but for me, I definitely would have still been hungry as it was an appetizer sized portion, so beware if you get this, you may want to add another app or order it as a side with your main. Considering, I usually dine in Toronto, the value for what you get here is great! The entire bill, including my friend's meal (excluding tip) came out to around $45. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, quiet spot where they can enjoy a casual dining experience that is well priced and offers good value for money. read more

We decided to try this restaurant during Londonlicious. $40 for a 3 course menu. Although the food was ok, there were strange combinations that didn't taste good together. I had three little pigs. It was hard to detect the prosciutto and the boar sausage was dry. The roasted beets tasted good but not with the rest of the food. The salad was a handful of spinach doused in salad dressing topped with pomegranate seeds that had the texture of being from frozen. The cheesecake for dessert was nothing special. Unfortunately, I didn't realize the lone blueberry in the fruit topping was mouldy when I ate it. That's the taste that was left in my mouth after the meal. It's as if they are trying to be a pretentious restaurant but they miss the mark with the food. Service was adequate even though they weren't that busy when we arrived. It was really bad. Service was painfully slow (about half an hour to get the drink, 2 hours from time of sitting down to time of eating). Ordered the special of the day and couldn't eat it. Great Food, Bad Service. Recently made a reservation to celebrate a birthday. The owner/manager (Joe) was great via email and even promised to put a candle on the dessert for the birthday girl. Upon arriving the younger server notified us that we were the only reservation of the night. The food and drinks were impeccable - best cocktails and great wine recommendations that paired well with the incredible food. However, we were ignored for the better portion of the meal and it took 20 minutes for the final bill to arrive (and it was just one bill). Disappointing - especially since we had made a reservation for a birthday, I had expected better service. The younger server apologized for the length of time it took to get the bill but our older male server didn't acknowledge the poor service at all. They also went back and forth so we didn't see our primary server except for the food service and ordering. Also - no birthday candle/wish for the birthday girl :( - not sure what was the point of the reservation. I worked in service and understand it was busy but all I would have liked was the acknowledgement of poor service and an apology. It also shouldn't take 20 minutes to print one bill and then another 5 to come round with the machine after the long wait - not to mention the 15 minute wait to order after drinks. The only reason, I gave 3 stars was because the food was so phenomenal! read more

Went there for Londonlicious and while I can understand that during this time service might be a bit slower due to how busy it is, our experience was absolutely unacceptable! We sat for an hour before we even saw any food while people around us were being served their mains (and they came after us). We never saw our server. And when our food did show up, it was our main (appetizers just never showed up!!). By the time we finally got our appetizers, our mains came immediately and were cold (presumably the same ones they tried to bring out 20 min prior). We were pretty ticked, so we asked for our desserts to go. We ended up paying before receiving our desserts, which not shockingly, never showed up like our appetizers. We were comped our 2 irish coffees but we will never dine here again. Our server didn't even seem to care and you could tell the couples next to us weren't too impressed either. It is disappointing, because the food isn't bad. Just no organization, poor customer service. 100$ date night completely wasted... I go to Londonlicious every year and have tried many restaurants in London. Just because there is an event, does not make this excusable. We have never had service this terrible, regardless of how busy the restaurant is. read more

Absolutely disappointed. Stopped in ahead of a show at Budweiser Gardens and ordered off the Londonlicious menu. Perhaps I didn't time it right but we ordered as soon as we sat down and an hour later we still didn't have our entree and were running out of time (even though others who sat down after us were eating). We asked to have our meal packed up and our bill. After a decent wait, our bill was brought over and we were charged the entire Londonlicious price (including dessert etc.) even though dessert was never received and the entrees were in a bag. The owner was nice enough to give us his card and said to reach out to be 'taken care of' at a future date but to be honest, I don't think I'll be back. I would have much rather he had discounted the meal that we didn't even get to eat right then and there. To top it off, we couldn't bring our food into the show, so we had to run it to our car and missed the beginning of the show. Honestly, just super disappointed. Future suggestion Joe? Don't offer me a deal for 'later'... fix the problem now. I was honestly shocked to still be charged full price. read more
