This place is legit for so many reasons but gets a 5 because the locals and staff alike were welcoming fun geeky people. Clean, organized and family friendly. We sat in shop & played the game lotus & then rented two more games we have been meaning to try out. 3 bucks for a one week rental each game. The credit card minimum is $7.00. This is my 7th game store in 6 months. 5 different states & 6 different cities. This store is one of my favorites. We have been looking for a specific time stories expansion and stores 10 times the size of this didn't have it: this one didn't have it either but had the newest expansion first store of seven. If you are a gamer and anywhere near here it's worth it. read more

I've recently been getting my girlfriend into tabletop gaming. We'd been playing a lot of deck building games, etc. recently. Unfortunately, not very many of my friends are willing to use their brains when drinking/having a game night. So I started looking for a place that does game nights in store. This is what got me in the door. I couldn't be happier with my choice of shop. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by Mac(the owner). This guy made me feel as welcome as if I'd been going there for years. The shop isn't huge and it was a week day afternoon so it was pretty empty. He asked us what we were looking for and I told him we were looking for some type of co-op game that we could play with just the two of us, but also with friends. I can't stress enough that this was THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Mac then spent the next 30-45 minutes with us giving us his undivided attention. He suggested several games and gave a detailed description of what they involved. Being very ADD, I was pointing out other games I saw left and right as well. He didn't miss a beat and proceeded to answer EVERY SINGLE QUESTION that I had. We ended up buying Folklore: The Affliction, and Chronicles of Crime. He also hooked me up with another game to try and convert my friends into gamers like I am. (It was a drinking game called DrinkingQuest that I'm very much looking forward to trying.) The selection of games in the shop is pretty awesome. I was impressed. They also have games that you can rent for $3/week. How awesome is that? He let me know that they host a service industry game night every Monday night that I'm planning on trying next week and am totally stoked about. I will 100% be back to this shop and support them. If you're interested in games and in the area, you'd be making a huge mistake by not giving this place a try. 10/10 will be back again read more

I've had the pleasure of going to this store for several years and it's been my absolute go to for anything MTG related. I have attended 2 prerelease events and always had fun, the staff and customers are always friendly and even try to keep the language down, which is a rarity these days. I can readily say that this store is one of the few remaining nerd havens for people like me. So if your in the area I would recommend checking them out, you won't regret it. read more

Go4Games is owned by the duo that brought you Rocket Games, and as such, the vets know exactly what was needed bringing this store to the local community. You will find an excellent selection of all things wargaming, whether Warmachine, hordes, Warhammer fantasy or 40k, and many newer less known. They carry many of the expected accessories, including terrain, paints, glue, tools, bases and if it's not in stock, they can get it, usually in 2 days. They have a rather modest selection of some RPGs as well, notably pathfinder, but they can acquire pretty much whatever you want in that category quickly as well from what they said. There are several custom built gaming tables that are just fantastic, they even have convenient drink holders! The tables can accomodate any normal/large game size. For the game tables, they have just an enormous amount of available and just amazing terrain. All in all, a great gaming store, but a superior wargaming store. Oh, the staff, Mac & Marcus are extremely friendly and helpful; courteous to a fault, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and find what you want, and once, for me, what I didn't know I needed. Truly they are what other game store owners should strive to emulate. Many of the "regular" customers there are fairly friendly and I didn't see any do anything untoward and behave in any way that would deter any non-locals or non-regulars to not return. Only reason this isn't a 5 star review is the store is wargame oriented, and 5 stars would imply they have everything covered, and you'll note the lack of review for the magic crowd, that role belongs to NOLAs other premier gaming store which is reviewed on Yelp as well, :). read more

Being the new guys in town is never easy, especially for gamers like my boyfriend and I. The staff and frequenters at Go 4 Games welcomed us into their family with open arms! They have a great turnout almost every night with plenty of table-top, card, and rpg games! They really have something for every gamer! Tuesday and Sunday nights Heroclix games have great turn outs, and if you've never played you're in luck because the owner, Mac, is probably one of the best, most patient teachers I've ever met! FINALLY another shop for Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments!!! It was awesome and they got A.C. Very roomy store and the staff are very friendly . Plus there's other cards games I love to get into like Final Fantasy TCG and Dragonball Z. Tons of board games. Coming here every Monday for yugioh tourneys. read more

Still loving this place. I came by almost an hour after they were supposed to be closed and there were still a few people there finishing a game, but they still let me in and were extremely helpful in helping my fiancé pick out a board game to rent. I have dealt with 3 different staff members on 4 separate occasions and everyone is extremely helpful and outgoing. read more

Great neighborhood gaming store. We stopped in to see if we could find some good choices of strategy board games to play while on our vacation here. They offer a nice mix of both newer and classic strategy games. Also a nice touch: game rental! We were able to rent 3 games for the week for only $3 each. There hasn't been a shop this good since Diamond Bill's Cards & Comics (before it changed ownership) in the early 2000s, and if it were located on the West Bank I'd be in here all the time. They are friendly and honest and offer generous and superior prize support for Magic: The Gathering. All in all, this is the BEST gaming store in the New Orleans area.
