Pretty good BBQ food. We stopped in for a late lunch and tried the BBQ plates. One of us had the pulled pork and one us had the brisket. Our daughter had a BBQ pork sandwich with the cole slaw and some potato salad. Everything tasted pretty good, and we enjoyed the mustard-based sauce. The baked beans were really good too. I've been going to breweries in Colorado Springs for a while now and didn't even think of checking out Monument. And it's certainly worth it. Pikes Peak Brewing has impressed me and I'll certainly be coming back. Their pretzels are amazing, soft, and just the right amount of sweet. They have a good beer selection and their seasonable are pretty good. I tried the Lover's Lane chocolate amber and ended up with a 32 oz can to go. 32 oz can? Yes please. I'll probably come here after my next trip to I Fish just up the street. They have specials from Thursday through Saturday, and they also have food trucks show up, which sounds cool. Currently they have nine of their own crafts on tap, two of which are seasonal. I definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area who likes beer and beer food. read more

Actually like this place, but today was disappointing. According to the pikes peak restaurant week, the downtown location was participating. Just curious, I called the Monument location, and they said they were participating too. $15 fixed price for beer, ap, and a brat. Told the server that is what I was planning to order, and ordered a beer. Then a different server came on, told me the special wasn't at this location. She checked w manager, who said the same thing. Came back to this location on a recent trip. Can't say enough about the staff. They are super helpful and always seem to pop up when I'm running low. We are extremely cautious during covid and did a cabin social distancing vacation in Colorado. We decided we wanted to try a patio for our first time since March and did so here. This is a safe place to eat. The tables outside are spaced well, the workers all are wearing masks, and you can pay on your phone. The beer was really good! The food was good too and the service was actually perfect. They took our order, checked in at the right times but not too much... it was great. We visit Colorado twice a year or so and will make this a regular stop. read more

This place seems to always have something going on and welcomes your dog family. If its crowded, people just welcome you to their table. This is Monument and I LOVE it! This is the first time bringing my beer group here after lots of requests. Beers and staff are amazing. But from 5:30 on (until we left at 8:30) there were about 8+ kids running amok and screaming as if it were elementary recess. They were kicking and throwing rocks everywhere. It was unbelievable and awful. None of the parents gave a crap!!!! The staff finally talked to them after we complained. They try to be family friendly. That is fine, but it is not a daycare!!! Children( Just as dogs) at a brewery should be "controlled" and well mannered. It was mayhem. Maybe they should implement no kids after dark. I won't go back if they don't change their policy. This is a great little place which is better every time I stop in (which is about once a year). I assume these folks are still relatively new because the improvements they seem to be making are steady, as is their lineup of beer. The outside area is awesome and I've seen dogs there and being a dog person any business who loves them as well is a ok in my book. The only reason this did not get a 5 is I personally feel they need to work on their menu a bit. If you're going to offer food do it right. Don't get me wrong, what they do offer is good ...... On SundayOct 4, 2015, I went to have a beer and food after cycling. I've enjoyed the beer in the past but nothing to rave about. What was different this time is that I wanted food. Bad mistake! It took 22 minutes to make what they called a "Reuben". It consisted of dry bread, two slices of beef that was white grey in color and ... here's the kicker (see photograph) dry sauerkraut in cheese. I ended up coming in with some friends the same day as the parade, so it was a little crowded, and food was limited to hot dogs, but I took in stride, and ordered myself a brew. It was a hot day, so I figured I'd order the Gold Rush. While sitting outside I quickly consumed my brew as the Gold Rush is a Belgian style ale, not in the sour or alcohol forward kind of way, but in the light easy drinking kind of way. After it was quickly downed and I found myself wanting another, I went up to the bartender and half-halfheartedly glanced at their chalkboard. That's when I realized that what I thought was a lager equivalent blonde colored beer, was in fact an almost 9% summertime refreshment. As it turns out I was driving, so I had to abstain from a second, but shortly afterwards I found myself a local purveyor of packaged brews and acquired myself a half-dozen for another occasion when the use of an automobile was not required. read more

The service here has degraded over the years. Do not expect to sit down at a table be served. Expect to wait. Then head to the bar counter. Then go sit sit down with your beer. When it is done, and your beer is empty, head back to the bar. They claim to have table service, and Chris is a great guy, but when he is not there, the staff just don't seem motivated. I tipped tonight, but if this happens again with guests I bring, I will not tip moving forward. Just want everyone to know what they are walking into . Just when you think you may want a little pick me up on your drive down from Denver to Colorado Springs a sweet little brewery pops it's head up in Monument. Located fairly conveniently right of I-25 is Pikes Peak Brewery a pretty large location with a ton of seating in the front and back with two large bars to accommodate. A fairly limited menu, but on my occasion we had the charcuterie and cheese platter which really hit the spot. As for beers, I had the full sampler and for the most part enjoyed them all. Nothing stood out as spectacular, but nevertheless all of the beers were sampled, finished and enjoyed. The staff was friendly and they had a large selection of merch ranging from coats to hoodies to tanktops. The vibe ranged from locals to your random brewery peeps so I really felt right at home! Overall, I really had a great time here and know I will be back, I recommend you all do the same. read more

As a Monument local, I am very happy that we finally got a brewery up here. I love the atmosphere and they recently added on the Barrel Room which really opens up a lot of seating. Over the summer, sitting outside is a must to enjoy your beer. They have a great outdoor seating area. The events that they have are good too. The Yappy Hour is where you can bring your dog and enjoy a beer with your best friend. They also get some good live acts (Mostly covers). It is always a good time there. Love the staff as well. I have written alot of reviews, but I think this is the first one I would want to give 10 stars to if I could. Why? Outstanding service, quality of beer and a really nice, cozy tap room. It is not far off the I25 in Monument. I really recommend stopping by. The IPA is extremely well balanced. We were headed to the Springs from Denver when we stopped. Now, to the outstanding service we received. First, Rebecca our server was so friendly. Chris, the owner went out of his way to help us out of a unexpected emergency. We will never forget someone who was so helpful when we were so far away from home. We will go back again and again, every time we head that way or maybe just to go there. Loved the fireplace and exceptional looking tap system on the bar itself. Great place to stop too if you are headed back up I25 and traffic is backed up. Nice happy hour as well! Went to a concert here when a friend was performing. The place was PACKED. So packed we couldn't get into the room that had the show in it. Still it was a fun atmosphere and the staff really kept up with the drinks. The food on the other hand took forever and the apple pie we ordered was hard as rock. When I first walked into the place, I was expecting it to be bigger. Seating was limited out of the maybe seven tables and small couch seating. But service was really friendly and welcoming. Pretzels were delicious, so delicious we got a second order. I went with the "gold rush" which they aren't kidding it was a rush, 10% alcohol count, not going to lie it got the job done. In short, I say "MEH". I'm a home brewer and beer enthusiast. I would call the beer at this place just okay. I did enjoy the Gold rush Belgian Ale, but it was not exactly true to style, as the alcohol content of 9% is well above a Belgian Blond, and the flavor/maltiness was not putting it into the tripple category. Taste was good. I tried the sampler, and the best beer, by far was the Elephant Rock IPA, which was a really good IPA. I believe in general they ferment their beers at to high a temperature, or use yeast with too high attenuation. I would say only the IPA was true to the beer style. The IPL "India Pale Lager" was a guest beer from Lone Tree Brewery, and it was just plain weird. Not something I will drink again. As to this place, I would not say "No way, I'm not going", but I will not be seeking this place out again... MEH.... read more

I give Pikes Peak 4 3/4 stars! Delicious variety of beers. Modern rustic feel inside and great outside area for enjoying Colorado and live music. Festive and warm atmosphere with lots of locals who are friendly. Bar staff was cheerful and willing to walk you through any queries you may have regarding the menu or how the beer is made. There is a small but delicious food menu which is recommended. Only recommendation is a few more tables outside (I know umbrellas are a pain in Colorado with wind but they are nice.....). regardless, the place is awesome. We will absolutely be back. read more

Outstanding brewery. I'm a local, so I'm probably a bit biased. However, here is why I think this place is great. 1) They have great beers. Of course, some are better than others and other places might have better now and then. However, PPB is consistent in taste. Try the Gold Rush if you like Belgium beers. 2) They have a laid back atmosphere. They have a great after work crowd, an awesome weeknight atmosphere, good bands on the weekend. We used to go there when we didn't have kids and felt welcome and comfortable. We now have a young one and still fill welcome to stop in and have a beer. The patio area is awesome as well. Weekend afternoons will find people lounging, socializing and having a beer. The inside has some nice leather chairs for the lucky people that get them! 3) What a "local" place is support to be. The people that work there know your name and remember what you drink (no, we don't go there every night). Chris, one of the owners, was awesome with my parents when they visited. My dad asked a question about brewing and Chris went out of his way to talk to him for about 15 minutes on a very busy night. Please note, this is a brewery. They don't have a kitchen but they do serve some small meal/snack food such as cheese plates, small sandwiches, and pretzels. Just enough to drink with. They also let you bring in food or have it delivered (there is a Papa John's Pizza a block away). Stop in. You won't be disappoint read more

This place is small and cozy, but was a perfect venue to catch the Broncos game. We tried the beer sampler, and our favorites were the barrel stout and the British mild. Then we enjoyed an additional pint of beer in their extremely comfy leather chairs. Later that night they had live music, which was very good and not too loud, which is an issue in some joints. I am a brewery lover and this place is top notch. Although it was crowed and busy the night we went, the service did not lack. I had bought their groupon for two samplers and two growlers. My fiance's parents live in the springs so we thought we would pregame a dinner with them. I spotted two seats by the fireplace while my fiance showed our groupons. I don't remember the gentlemen's name (tall, brown hair, 25-30?) but he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He answered all our questions on the beer and had our growlers ready as soon as we were heading out the door for dinner. We decided to buy a pint (after the sampler, we didn't need it) just so we could give him a hefty tip. Loved the Summit House Oatmeal Stout and the Ascent Pale Ale. Along the Front Range is a desert. And in the technically semi-arid zone is a town called Monument. And in Monument is a Temple of Beer. The name of this temple--this shrine--is Pikes Peak Brewing Company. Within its doors the brewmasters oversee the creation of divine nectar and their acolytes tend bar, ready to serve this ambrosia to any pilgrim (over 21) who enters. Pikes Peak Brewing is simply one of the best breweries on the Front Range. PPB succeeds in crafting a variety of excellent brews and serving them in a friendly, comfortable space. But come along and let's visit each Station of Beer to determine what makes this such a stand-out in a corridor packed full of breweries. First and foremost is their beer. PPB comfortably brews beers along the whole spectrum of possibilities and excels at most, succeeds at all. Most selections are quite boozy with the lowest gravity beers generally clocking in around 5%, which is a good thing. One of my personal favorites is their ESB. It's extremely flavorful but remains balanced and light on the palate. The malt is especially well done in this beer because it tastes great. Another favorite is their saison which looks like a hefeweizen served in a tulip glass, but don't be fooled as it is hardly a hefe. It's extremely fruity with tons of citrus and peach flavor but with floral notes providing a strong base. These flavors are bold and forward and don't have to compete for your attention but for all that it's a stupidly drinkable beer. My personal favorite, though, is the Barrel Aged Summit House Stout. If it's available, get it because the thing deserves to be served in the Holy Grail. I seriously doubt Jesus was drinking wine, he was probably sipping this high-gravity work of art that assembles all the elegance of great craft beer but goes down with the satisfying taste of an Irish car bomb. No joke, it's like drinking a whole glass of the classic car bomb--Guiness, Baily's, and Jameson--all in one package. But instead of coughing and bro-fisting your way to recovery (but not sobriety), you're enjoying a great beer. It doesn't overwhelm, cloy, or burn, but it certainly leaves you wanting a second glass. The food is definitely not their strong suite, but they do a good job of providing a simple menu that compliments their beers. If you must have munchies, the meat and cheese plate is well-assembled to match good beer. Other menu items are similarly constructed and worth getting if you have a bit of a hunger. But PPB escapes the crowd of delicious breweries with mediocre tap rooms (Strange, Wit's End, River North) by having a great physical location. It's probably because they are in Monument and not downtown Denver, but the facts are the facts. PPBC's location has a nice indoor bar with plenty of seating, but in the summer they have an awesome beergarden. It's easily triple the capacity of the interior and is very nicely put together. The live music out there in the summer is awesome. Still, that's not all of it. Any place can put together a nice property with enough money. PPBC is nice to visit because it's warm, inviting and comfortable, thanks in no small part to the staff. You're not visiting a big, impersonal regular stop on the Denver beer circuit, you're visiting a small business with very real, down-to-earth owners and employees welcoming you into their home to share a drink and some food. Don't get me wrong, I love many breweries in Denver, but few have such a genuine feel of welcome to them amid the hubub created in the city. The bartenders here always have time to talk and you can meet and be greeted by staff. When you come here, you feel genuinely welcome and can relax into an authentic, relaxed beer-drinkin' experience. PPBC is a great place. It's worth stopping for a tasting flight as you drive by and it's worth making a longer evening trip to as well. I wonder why we don't have our own Front Range Brewery Tales with a Prologue that has a few lines it it something like this: And specially from every mountains ende Of the Front Range to Pikes Peak Brewing Co they wende, The hooly blisful brews for to seke, That hem hath holpen them their thirste to sleke. read more

Beast. That's the only way to describe this place. I was fortunate to take a tour here with the head brewmaster - Chris, he's a GREAT guy and extremely knowledgeable - and really enjoyed it. The beer is outta sight. Really a nice ambiance, lots of cool props around as settings (I.e. The keg room in the back with all the beer staves on the bar and on the lamps is awesome). They sell a great selection of beers and have an awesome flight if you want to taste a good number of beers first before you pick the one you want. Good, GOOD beers! read more
