At least 20+ holes were patched and are now absolutely invisible in our color-drenched home. Overall, communication is excellent- everyone on the team gets cc'ed on emails, project managers visit the site regularly, and the onsite leads are extremely professional and detail-oriented. Arnoldo was our first project painting lead, his skill is unparalleled- watching him paint or come up with a painting solution for a tricky area is astounding. Adrian M was our most recent painting lead, and he is focused, efficient and clearly works very hard (the guy runs fast but is very professional in everything he does) and has a level of skill that is unmatched. Everyone is polite, respectful of our home and friendly. Phinney Ridge is tidy and clean, they take feedback well when things aren't quite perfect, and they are timely and efficient, and they solve problems. The cost and quality are commensurate, their experience is well evidenced and they always have solutions for tricky old house problems, plus a great warranty. After Armor Roofing remodeled the beam structure and installed skylights, Refined Painting patched the new interior two-beam sets with "mud" and paint to make each one of them appear like single white smooth textured beams. They also textured a portion of a wall that needed attention after a roof leak. They did a flawless job with multiple coats of priming, patching and painting the beams and returned a couple weeks latter to sand, "mud" and repaint a few small bubbles that arose in the curing process. The crew really is refined in their craft which goes way beyond painting. Jose, Luis, Julio and the entire crew are pros -- I want to say "artists" -- in drywall, texturing, reconstruction prep and painting.

When I called afterward, I was told there had been a "family emergency" and that they had sent me an email before the appointment to let me know. I never received any email, and I checked my spam folder as well. Whether there truly was a family emergency, I can't say. However, I do know that I was left waiting with no notice that the appointment had been canceled. If an email was never received, I would have expected a phone call or text instead. I've been hiring contractors for several exterior home projects this year, and unfortunately missed appointments have become a recurring problem. It's frustrating when companies don't seem to consider the homeowner's time. Based on my experience, I can't recommend a company that misses a scheduled appointment and fails to ensure the customer is notified in advance, especially one that markets itself as a high-end painting company.

This is our third time using Atilio and his team and this review is way too long in coming…read more Every time we've used them we've been extremely impressed by all of his crew members, the quality of the work, the timeliness and the very competitive pricing! This job was nearly the entire interior of a 3000sq/ft home which included some very high ceilings and some other challenging areas. In addition, they had to work around our dogs, two kids who are home and our desire to have them work a full day, but still have our time to ourselves. We are not the easiest to work with but Atilio did a great job communicating with my wife and keeping the job moving, despite us adding some elements in the middle of the job. His crew are very friendly and do whatever they can to make you happy, AND were on time or early EVERY DAY for three weeks. That's a big deal to us and a rarity in the contracting world! The paint quality was great, they cleaned up nightly and were very insistent that we were happy with the job and reiterated they'd come back if we find any issues. They did that with our past jobs with them and never gave us any grief if we had them back! Wouldn't use any other painters!

I learned a lot more than when only interviewing one or two companies!! These people were not only kind, they were patient with all my questions and concerns when in person or email, etc. Shawn, Jennifer and David couldn't have been more professional yet also so kind that I felt as though they were friends coming to paint my house. Painting outdoors shows colors in different ways than indoors!! So selecting the right color was more difficult than expected. Another company almost cost TWICE as much but they offered more services than I needed, most of which was to make their company run easier for them, not the customers. Arclight prefers that everyone in their company is involved with more than one position to avoid the need for a big office or additional employees - they work very well as a team. This keeps the communication consistent as well as keeping the cost to the customers at an excellent value. They really care about the customers and have pride in their work. Choosing a color is not one of the things "included" regarding color advice, not in the way the more expensive company did, but more due to experience, they'll advise you about what looks best regarding the subtle differences in colors you want but once completed might not be what you thought it would be. I wanted my house to sort of look like the color of the lake nearby, not clash or match the neighbors, yet be distinctive without being too bold. Something grayish blue but I was led to a bluish gray which was PERFECT!!! I picked the colors, but Shawn gave much needed advice to have the right hue and saturation especially when it's outside!! This company is the ONLY one I'd recommend and the ONLY one I'll return to as needed. VERY professional yet VERY patient and KIND too. Nothing but good feelings about the company and the individuals.
