This is a way overdue review, but this company was one of MANY I interviewed to have a far better idea of what was best to be done, the kind of paint used regarding stain or various grades of paint, the longevity of their work, and just getting a sense of what sort of people will be working on my house. I learned a lot more than when only interviewing one or two companies!! These people were not only kind, they were patient with all my questions and concerns when in person or email, etc. Shawn, Jennifer and David couldn't have been more professional yet also so kind that I felt as though they were friends coming to paint my house. Painting outdoors shows colors in different ways than indoors!! So selecting the right color was more difficult than expected. Another company almost cost TWICE as much but they offered more services than I needed, most of which was to make their company run easier for them, not the customers. Arclight prefers that everyone in their company is involved with more than one position to avoid the need for a big office or additional employees - they work very well as a team. This keeps the communication consistent as well as keeping the cost to the customers at an excellent value. They really care about the customers and have pride in their work. Choosing a color is not one of the things "included" regarding color advice, not in the way the more expensive company did, but more due to experience, they'll advise you about what looks best regarding the subtle differences in colors you want but once completed might not be what you thought it would be. I wanted my house to sort of look like the color of the lake nearby, not clash or match the neighbors, yet be distinctive without being too bold. Something grayish blue but I was led to a bluish gray which was PERFECT!!! I picked the colors, but Shawn gave much needed advice to have the right hue and saturation especially when it's outside!! This company is the ONLY one I'd recommend and the ONLY one I'll return to as needed. VERY professional yet VERY patient and KIND too. We just had our home painted by Arclight, and I cannot think of anything they did to find fault with. Shaun was very professional at everything he did, and it shows. My wife is a pretty picky lady, and we did the "final walk through" together. She is "Happy", and with a 61 year old marriage, if she is happy.......I am happy. Kudos to Arclight. We chose Arclight to stain our house in spring of 2025. Of the 4 painting firms from which we received bids, theirs was not the cheapest, but was only slightly higher than the cheapest. The amount of thought and detail they put into the bid was impressive. All business transactions were done online and were easy to use. We encountered several challenges. The siding could not take the brand of penetrating stain we had selected because percentage of solids in the previous stain was too dense. They found a stain and seal product from a different company that would work. It took more than two days working with Rodda-Miller paints to create a color match to the old stain. While this was going on Arclight did a soft wash of the house and then masked the trim or staining of the siding. The soft wash did an excellent job of removing dirt and mold, while being much safer than a traditional pressure wash. They applied two coats and still finished with only a four hour overrun on the estimated time to complete. Each day, they worked with us to share access to the fenced yard with our dogs. Throughout the process, Arclight was very easy to work with. Communications were excellent. They sent an e-mail each evening describing work done that day and the plan for the next day. The quality of the finished staining job could not be better. We highly recommend Arclight's services to anyone planning to paint or stain their house. read more

Our experience with Arclight was cruising along, until it wasn't. A few days into our project, the team doing the work disappeared. Literally. We heard right away from Arclight that they were "no longer employed" -- one of the owners stopped by our house that day to let us know what was going on, and literally the following day they had redirected a couple people from another crew to pick up on the job. The new crew was eventually supplemented with another person and they completed painting our house and staining our deck without further issues. The best test of customer service is how the company reacts when something goes wrong, and in this case Arclight passed the test with flying colors. Throughout the process from estimation to completing the job, we had good communication and follow-through from Arclight. They did a great job on the painting and staining and I would be happy to use them in the future. read more

We had water damage on our powder room and needed to get the drywalls replaced and painted. Shawn and Kumiko came by the following day to give us a quote which sounded so reasonable. My husband and I recently moved into a new house that had significant amounts of exterior wood that needed to be re-stained. We were nervous at first because there were multiple parts of our house that had to be taped off and/or done in a certain order, but the Arclight team made it easy and hassle free for us. The Arclight team were fantastic at painting our house. They were professional, friendly, and had top notch communication. Jennifer was the crew lead and she was incredibly sweet, kind, and always brought the absolute best attitude. Although we got unlucky with rain in the middle of our project, the whole team worked their hardest to get all of the pressure washing, sanding, and painting done in a smart, but timely manner. They were careful to make sure all of the original paint colors were used or they matched colors with paints of higher quality.The other crew members on our team - David, Mario, and Marcus also worked hard every day to help our house look brand new. They even helped me on small details - such as helping me wash one of my towels that had gotten dirty in the process, getting debris off of our window screens, doing in depth research on the best way to paint our cement board siding (it turned out we couldn't paint it due to anti-graffiti coating, but thankfully they researched it before painting it anyways and having all of the paint slide off onto our house), and they helped to take off and on one of the side panels of the cement board to help me get more information on how to handle the issue. Greg and his crew removed the popcorn ceilings throughout our house (no asbestos). They repaired minor drywall issues on the walls and painted all of the ceilings and walls in the house except for a couple of bathrooms. They arrived on time and completed the work on schedule. The quality of work was excellent. We had only minor touch up spots that needed to be addressed when we did the final inspection. As part of the painting they removed and reinstalled all lights, doors, and all of the modular closet components that we had throughout the house. Arclight was a terrific company to work with and did an outstanding job painting our house. It wasn't an easy job -- our house has a lot of siding and much of it was in poor condition. It required a lot of scraping, caulking, and other prep work before the painting could even begin -- and most of this took place in sub-optimal conditions due to a record Seattle heatwave. Throughout the whole process, the Arclight crew was fantastic. Jennifer gave us a prompt and thorough estimate and was very responsive to my follow-up questions and requests. Then David and his crew (Marco and Dominick) were simply outstanding. Not only did they take care to do very high-quality work, but they were also just really pleasant people who were great to talk to and who we didn't mind having around our house while the project was ongoing. There were a couple of minor issues with some wiring on our front porch light and a couple of spots on the front door and shutters needing to be touched up, but Arclight resolved them 100% without any fuss.
