We had Dandy do some interior painting at our new house. He came by for the estimate and gave a comprehensive, written quote. We got on the schedule and had the painting done a couple of weeks later. It was completed on time and with high quality. He and his crew were professional and friendly throughout the week and worked with us to determine the best order to finish the rooms (kid's bedrooms first!). Dandy and his crew just finished painting the exterior of our house and I'm really impressed with the result and their work ethic. There is a Sherwin Williams paint shortage so he recommended Miller Paint's Evolution line which looks rich and lovely on our house. There is a lumber shortage, so he went to many different places to get replacement wood for the rotted sections. There is a labor shortage, but he is lucky to have a talented and hardworking crew. They went above and beyond. There was a large amount of siding that needing replacing along with some fascia boards. The attention to detail exceeded our expectations. It's very hard to find people who do quality work, but they are the real deal. They even fixed a mistake roofers made prior to us purchasing the house. Every day they communicated with us on the progress and asked how we wanted to proceed in certain tricky areas. They even repainted our address numbers. I can't forget to mention Kimi either who is very communicative and prompt with responses. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and again. Honesty, I wasn't even thinking about giving a review, but Yelp just emailed me and asked if I ended up working with "Just Dandy" for our wallpaper removal and paint project. Well, unfortunately, we didn't get much farther than meeting Dandy to view and discuss the details of our project; we never received an estimate. They stopped communicating with us after I contacted them regarding the estimate, and was told that they were still trying to contact one of their (I'll call) sub-contractors to get a price for texturizing our walls (orange peel). During that time period, about 2-3 days, Kimi was nice and pleasant to communicate with and tried to keep us updated on the status of the estimate; the last communication (text) was on a Saturday, when they were still trying to get in touch with the sub-contractor. So I told Kimi that it was fine if they got back to me on Monday. After that...crickets...heard nothing more. We weren't upset, just disappointed with how the situation ended. It didn't have to be abrupt. I say this from experience, having worked for a business park in property management, and thus, being a liaison between general contractors, sub-contractors and our clients to ensure our clients' needs were being satisfied regarding remodels, repairs or general office improvements in our buildings...customer service was our number one priority, from beginning to end. Communication is vital to a businesses long-term survival, as well as their reputation. I know companies that have been around for a long time and need very little advertising of their business (or not at all), because they have developed such a great reputation (from their work to communicating with their staff) that most of their clients are from word-of-mouth. They have a loyal following. Alright, my point is, if they had just taken another couple of minutes to let me know that, perhaps, this wasn't a project that they felt they could take on for us...then they could have said so. Maybe even recommend another business that could better help us? I would have understood and respected that. Sure, it would have been nice to receive an estimate, but I would have (and did) moved on with no problem. These days, it's SO much easier to communicate with people. You don't even have to tell people face-to-face anymore or even talk with them over the phone if you wish not to? By not responding, I had to conclude that they did not want this project but didn't know how to say no thanks, basically. There are several diplomatic ways to approach turning down projects without giving potential customers the cold-shoulder. Because in the long run, you will keep your reputation as not only a business that does great work, but also one that communicates well with people, overall...being an all-around solid business. And word does get around. In closing, I can't comment on their work obviously. From the many other reviews I've read of their work..they are great!! (It's the reason why we wanted to work with them, of course.) I hope that they will consider coming up with more effective, less abrupt ways of dealing with less-desirable projects. I think it will help increase their business because people will appreciate their honesty and being forthright, if nothing else happens. I was required to rate Just Dandy. The two stars saying that everything went well in the beginning with communication and our visit with Dandy and our discussions, but then everything went downhill and crashed in the follow-through. If you can work-on and master the follow through, I'm certain you will be that much farther along with increasing your reputation than so many others! Have a good summer...peace! read more

We hired Just Dandy to paint our entry way and dining room. The dining room has old faux wood paneling (lots of grooves) and the entry way has a tall ceiling. They did an excellent job and honored their original quote after they realized the job was going to take longer than initially expected. With the housing boom in the PNW, there are a lot of contractors who are overcharging and/or doing low quality work right now. My husband, and I requested estimates from 15 different companies to have the exterior of our house painted, I'm not even exaggerating. Most of them quoted us a price almost double or more than double what Dandy quoted us. They also wouldn't be using high quality paint, or couldn't immediately answer certain technical questions we had. Dandy gave us the best quote, and was the most knowledgeable and passionate person in regards to his work that we spoke with, so we decided to give our business to him. Communication was excellent the entire time. Dandy and his crew also showed up and completed things on schedule. We were fortunate to have sunny weather the entire week. The price only went up a little bit from the original quote for the boards that needed to be replaced. Other companies were ready to nickel and dime us on those areas that needed repair. Our house looks amazing!!! Even the listing agent who did a market analysis on our house, could not stop raving about the quality of the paint job, and the delicate care taken to certain areas (e.g. trim and foot bridge). In 10-15 years, when we need to paint our house again, we'll only be calling Dandy. read more

I am the Maintenace Director of a Respectful retirement home in Lake Stevens Washington. I was given the task to get a large two bed two bath Cottage painted and new carpet and ready for a new tenet. Well, I gave Dandy and his team only 2 days to get the job done. NOT only did I give them a time limit Thay were painting a place where the previous tenet smoked, so Thay had to deal with that. After the team lift the house, I looked over there work closely. I feel if we are paying for good work, we should get good work. Dandy and his team really did a great job painting, patching. I called them in a bit of a tight spot because I needed to get some walls repaired before new cabinets went in on a tight timeline. My interior paint job was very extensive and challenging. I had every surface on the top floor of my home painted to include cabinets, doors and all the millwork. They were incredibly professional. The entire home was protected with cardboard, plastic and tape to make sure none of our personal belongings were painted. The doors and cabinets look "factory" no runs, no drips, and zero orange peel. I honestly don't know how anybody could do a better job. Just Dandy is not the cheapest out there but they are very competitive and what you get for your money is no comparison to the other companies. Dandy is 100% vested in ensuring that the customer is satisfied. I would refer Just Dandy painting to anybody. It is pretty new looks and I don't believe this owner's response. We got estimates from 8 others and this place is the highest among all with an additional $3,000-$4,000 average. Amazing job! We solicited a few bids and Dandy was the most competitive. We originally hired him just to paint a few rooms prior to putting our house on the market, but he was able to adjust his schedule so he could also paint our new place before we moved in on only 2 days notice - very much appreciated. He was incredibly professional. The paint job is very well done, no drip lines or spotty painting. He's also incredibly neat and tidy and clearly takes great pride in his work.
