    Let's go

I got this rental for my brother, his wife, my boyfriend and I through Groupon. I heard about it from a YouTube couple and I thought this would be a great experience! I was frustrated because I kept calling to see if there was anything I needed to do before getting to the place. They said no just come and we'll take your Groupon information. So we got there and it was torture to get signed in. It took us an hour for signing in! Finally, we get in the cars, my gps didn't work well. We went a mile and had to return that car. We got another car and went on our tour. My brother's car had a hard time going up the hill (right before Lombard Street) and it had very little power and it started smoking. We had to wait for them to get to Lombard street. We went down the crookedest street then quickly returned the cars. My brother was afraid that he and my sister in law would stall or that the car would catch on fire. We ended our tour 1 hour early. Issues are the cars look used up and not well maintained. They need more workers at the front desk and car pickup area. Cars should be checked prior to customers coming to ensure they're going to work well. I think this is a GREAT idea and very fun. I was able to see more of SF because of this amazing self guided tour. The reason I didn't rate my experience as a 5 star is the wait time checking in and the car issues.

So much fun! Bring a small blanket and gloves because it does get cold. I think one hour is enough time to enjoy this ride. We were a bit sore in the hips after a few hours. The car vibrates a lot but so worth the ride!

I know the city well as a Bay Area native but I've always wanted to play tourist. This was a great and somewhat cheesy way to do it! The locals WILL laugh at you, but it's all in good fun. My non-local friend and I did a three hour tour around the city, costing us each around $100. We rented the 2-seater and were on our way, going around 25 MPH on city streets. We were able to hit a lot of the most iconic spots - Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square, Fort Mason, Golden Gate Bridge, Legion of Honor, Land's End, Ocean Beach, Golden Gate Park, Palace of Fine Arts, Lombard Street, and more. You can get out of the car and take some photos at cool spots! The 2-seater GoCar is technically a motorcycle, so be aware that it is loud. I had a bit of a learning curve at the beginning because I've never ridden a motorcycle before, but the staff explain it to you and have you watch a video beforehand. The hardest thing is that you cannot reverse so you physically have to pull the GoCar backwards. There is also a GPS system with a planned route and a physical map provided. I had no issues with the GPS, but if one did, you can use your phone. If that also doesn't work, SF is basically a grid and it should be easy to get back on track if you're a bit lost. This is an exciting way to explore the city, the staff is helpful, and you'll definitely make memories!

So much fun! Don't forget to bring gloves and a blanket. Easy to drive and the GPS tour was surprisingly interesting and I learned some new stuff (even being from the city) I definitely will be doing this again

My first time riding in a Go cart buggy & in San Francisco it was so much fun would definitely do it again. The staff was super friendly & went through all the rules & directions. The go cart was well maintained did not have any mechanical issues. Can't wait to do it again!!

What a fun experience to take parents on or anyone without a license! The driver does need one in order to drive any of their vehicles, but it's nice to be able to have a passenger for the ride. This is a self-guided tour, driving their GoCar vehicles. This means that throughout the ride, the tablet on the car will continuously and simultaneously give you directions and a tour of the route you're on. They have two models of GoCars: the regular go cars (up to 30 mph) and the e-sport one (electric - goes up to 80 mph, though I only went up to 45 on the GG bridge). Getting checked in took long but the young male worker that was there was super patient and nice with everyone that came in. Before riding, you have to watch a safety video and then the workers also go over the specifics of the vehicle. I rode on the e-sports model, so I could ride over the GG bridge. There were two main things I was worried about - getting lost and being too cold (this was during May). However, those worries were thankfully dispelled because the tour really babies the directions. It'll mention a sharp turn that's needed or a stop sign way ahead of time. So, I never got lost. My other worry was it would be very cold despite having a front-shield panel blocking the wind from the front. However, I was very relieved to discover the car had seat warmers for both driver and passenger seats, and also handlebar warmers! It was vastly needed as it was very windy throughout most of the ride, but the war made the experience more enjoyable and the wind/cold more bearable. Overall, an incredibly exciting and enjoyable activity albeit expensive!

This was such a fun experience! A must do while visiting San Fran! A great way to tour and explore the city! I was the driver in my car and I have to admit I was a little nervous at first just because San Fran roads are built different lol lots of steep roads (up and down) so I wasn't sure and I definitely don't want to hit someone or get hit while trying to enjoy this experience but it was definitely worth the "chance" I took being the driver and I faced my fears! It felt so good! It was also a beautiful day and we're able to hit Lombard street (all the zig zags), get a view of the Golden Gate Bridge and just venture out! I wish we had more time with the GoCar. There is a navigation on the each car so as long as your following the tour it will talk and give you the history of places and landmarks as you are driving the course; if you get off course or go the wrong way it will stop talking until you get back on track and then it will start talking again. I mean such a cool experience, I definitely want to go again and the experience this with my husband because when we went we didn't do this experience and I think he would enjoy it just as much as I did. They have mainly the 2 seaters for you and another person. They do have one that's similar to like an suv but I believe the man said they only have 1-2 of those and those are always the first to be taken. Highly recommended while visiting!!!

My best friend & I decided to be tourist for a day in the city. We are Bay Area natives and we've been to the city many times. So we decided to put a little twist on this adventure. We went on Go Cars & drove over the Golden Gate Bridge, we stopped to take pictures and stopped in Sausalito for some seafood. We had a blast driving around in the Go Car, people passing would wave at us or take our pictures. The staff were very helpful & friendly. Jose set us up with our car and he explained how to navigate the tour and how to use the car. He even showed us multiple times how to use things and I appreciated that because I was nervous to drive. I got on and began to remember all the things Jose highlighted in his directions and I wasn't nervous anymore. I loved this experience and definitely will book again!

We rented these super fun cars for Memorial Day in San Francisco. Check it was a little chaotic, they needed a few more people help but staff was friendly and helpful. Most importantly they have clean restrooms to use before you head out. You watch a video and then get a hands on tutorial before setting off. Our first car died as soon as and we pulled out, I think the battery was dead but they go us going right away with another one. We selected the three hour tour but honestly it's not enough time to stop more than once or twice. We had to cut our tour short and were still 15 mins late coming back. You need the whole day to get through the traffic of the city and enjoy all the sights. Also bring a cushion for your bum, the seats get a little hard after three hours of putting around. Very friendly staff and fabulous routes preprogrammed into the cars, just book the whole day or prepare to pay late fees.

So, instead of our usual family trip to another country or state this summer, we decided to become tourists in our own backyard and booked an eight-hour San Francisco Alcatraz + City Tour, including Muir Woods and Sausalito. The tour cost $179 per adult (nine of us) and $169 for one child, and we even booked a hotel nearby the night before to make sure we'd be on time for our 9am start. We all met beneath the iconic Fisherman's Wharf sign, where Patrick was our guy! Patrick was knowledgeable, witty, and engaging--he kept us entertained with fascinating facts about San Francisco, fun trivia questions, and even handed out Ghirardelli chocolate as prizes. My man and I answered so many questions that we ended up with almost half the bag! Even though we were a bit hungover from pub crawling the night before, Patrick's energy kept us awake and involved. He thoughtfully included the three kids in our group, telling them to count Priuses on the street and quizzing them with their own set of trivia. Along the way, he pointed out some quirky facts, like there being more dogs than babies in San Francisco, and made sure everyone felt part of the experience. Patrick pointed out several billionaires' homes, as well as highlights like Chinatown and Japantown. We made a memorable stop at the Presidio and Fort Point for stunning views and photos of the Golden Gate Bridge. Patrick even volunteered to take group pictures for us and made sure we had time for restroom breaks. After crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, we made our way to Muir Woods. Though we only had an hour and a half--just enough time for my older siblings--my man and I left wanting more, wishing we could explore beyond the designated paths. The towering redwoods, some between 400 and 800 years old, were awe-inspiring. I'm sure there were even more breathtaking sights we didn't have a chance to see. Next, Patrick took us on a drive through Sausalito, pointing out popular restaurants and an old recording studio once frequented by celebrities. After dropping off a few tourists, he guided us to the starting point for our Alcatraz Tour and left us at Fisherman's Wharf for lunch. We felt a little sad knowing it was the last time we'd see him--at that point, we were on our own for the rest of the adventure. Although I've visited San Francisco many times--unlike my siblings--I still learned so much from the tour. We all had a great time, even my man who lived in the city for several years. While I initially thought the price was steep, by the end of the day, it felt completely worth it!

My tour guide was fantastic: friendly, knowledgeable, and full of fun facts, local tips, and recommendations that made the experience even better. I also loved that the group was small (about 8 people in the van), which made it easy to ask questions and actually see everything without feeling crowded. The three photo stops are short, but they're at excellent viewpoints and perfect for getting some Instagram-worthy pictures. As a solo traveler, I honestly can't recommend this tour enough. You get an incredible amount of value for the price, and it's a great way to get your bearings before exploring the city on your own. I'd recommend keeping notes of the places and recommendations your guide mentions so you can revisit them later. One thing that really stood out was the customer service. It was my first time and I thought it would be cheesy but it was engrossing and informative. + Restrooms were very clean and not crowded (at least not the guy's restroom). + There are some truly AMAZING views of the bay. Poor Service Experience with Alcatraz City Cruises…read more I'm writing this review to share my experience with the company's customer service, specifically around their cancellation policy. We were excited to book a trip through Alcatraz City Cruises on 6/16/26. Unfortunately, a family emergency forced me to cancel our trip to San Francisco, including this tour. I cancelled through the confirmation link in my email on 6/19 -- well within the 72-hour window required for a full refund, since the event itself wasn't until 6/26. The website showed my reservation as cancelled, so I stepped away to deal with the family emergency. In my rush, I never went back to check for a separate cancellation confirmation email, since the site had already shown the cancellation as complete. That was my mistake -- but it led to a frustrating outcome: I was charged for the tickets on the day of the event anyway. I didn't catch the charge until I reviewed my bank statement at the start of the following month. I called four times and couldn't reach a live person. When I finally got through to a representative, my request for a refund was denied. I asked again for the decision to be reviewed, but the agent refused, saying they would not look into it further. I understand that not confirming the cancellation via email was an oversight on my part. But the website clearly showed the reservation as cancelled, and we never used the tickets. Given that the cancellation was initiated well within the refund window, I would have expected more flexibility from customer service -- not an automatic denial. Dissapointed in this company and would not book through them again. Unfortantely, they did come up as one of the recommended companies to book through due to other scams and fake sites, but beware
