Chad, owner of Vantigo and tour guide, was the friendliest and coolest dude to have guide you around the city. Very knowledgeable, extremely easy to talk to, and more than happy to play photographer. We saw Coit tower, the Golden Gate Bridge, the place that I swear was Naboo in Star Wars, some random local know spot with an amazing view of the city, and drove through pretty much all the neighborhoods while Chad pointed out what he recommended we check out. The tour was about 3 hours long and came with bathroom stops at photo locations. If you are looking for a way to see everything without having to plan it yourself or rent a car during your trip, this is what to do. You won't be disappointed. read more

Absolutely loved our Vantigo tour with Chad. I've been to San Francisco 2X before, but seeing it this way gives you a completely different sense of the city. Chad is born and raised here and knows EVERYTHING - the history, the neighborhoods, the landmarks, and little gem stories about it all. Right off the bat, when meeting Chad, he adds a whole another, pleasant layer to the experience of a private tour in SF. Chad is funny, knowledgeable, and very accommodating, specifically by providing light snacks and not rushing our group which consisted of one older person with limited mobility. We have been to San Francisco many times as a resident of Sacramento, but Chad's tour totally broadened ourperspective on the city of San Francisco. Chad gave us local tips for where to eat... Including where to take a pass. He highlighted beautiful vistas in the city, while also providing great historical context to really understand how the city was developed. And probably one of the most enjoyable aspects of the experience is traveling through the city in his VW bug, which was very comfortable with no obstructed view based on the window orientation of a VW bug bus. Vantigo Tours was honestly the coolest way I could have ever imagined to explore San Francisco. Cruising around the city in a classic Volkswagen bus just hits different. Prepare for the bar to be raised! This was the ultimate way to discover San Francisco and to zoom in on areas we wanted to revisit for a longer time. Chad brought the best vibes you can ask for, the information and history shared throughout the tour was perfect and ranged from important history to fun gossip. The superbly timed and curated music helped set the mood and we broke into a few impromptu sing alongs on the road. We spoiled ourselves a little and made our tour a private one, and it felt like a custom made experience. Travelling as a couple sometimes means you have to compromise on getting great pictures together but Chad really showed up for us in that department. He knows how to frame a picture and made sure we got key shots along the way that we will look back fondly on for many years to come. I highly recommend this tour above any others. I loved everything about this tour. Very personable, only a small group which was nice. I think the only thing I could say about this is that it was a bit on the pricey side. There are many different tours available in SF but being in a VW was different so most likely that was worth it. I've gone twice - once w/ 3 friends and once w/ family (2 grandparents, 2 parents & 2 teens). Chad makes photo and potty stops - just enough, not too many. Made a last minute decision to book a tour with Vantigo while in San Francisco. Best decision and one of the highlights of my trip. I'd already walked all over the city, rode Muni in all forms, enjoying the city for the first time. But I wanted to have a local guide to get me up close to the main spots (GG Bridge) and out of way spots (Tank Hill) before I left town. Well Vantigo was great. Chad was informative but also fun!! Very well planned out and hit the top spots and areas you wouldn't find on your own. It was a great overview of the San Francisco area. Plenty of photo opportunities and Chad will act as your photographer so those award selfies don't have to happen. The VW Van was very comfortable and the group took turns riding shotgun! As a history lover, I appreciate that Chad touched on all of the history of SF (that could be covered in 3 hours) in some way shape or form.
