Spent the weekend in Philly PA. A friend told us that God Save the Qweens was a must. After reading all of the reviews I was a little hesitant. But what a great little treasure of a store. After chatting with Michelle (owner) I learned that she is a spirited woman who knows what respect is. She is a woman of principles. She was spunky and smart You gotta give respect to get respect. The lady who runs this shop is so sweet and she's got an excellent collection of old skool punk and alternative threads. It's really, really hard to find shops like this anymore and hers is a treasure. The collection little tschotchkes and collectibles is fantastic too! Definitely worth stopping in. Little turned off by the sign on the door that clearly stated that only one person was allowed in the store at a time. It was sort of written in a cute funny way stating that even conjoined twins were not welcomed in at the same time. So, I opened the door to ask if the sign was real and to be taken seriously. The owner confirmed it was real and one of us would have to wait outside. Granted the store is small, and a limit does make sense, but for a couple to go in one at a time is just crazy! Especially on cold slow January day. I exclusively wear Doc Martens, and was excited to pick up some fun ones, but wasn't going to shop, while my love waited out in the cold. read more

I stopped in here this weekend for a little, and never before have I ever felt so uncomfortable in a store. There were nasty notes all over the tiny place about not doing this, and not doing that. If I could give zero stars I would. I have never experienced such a horrid, disgusting establishment in my life. The rules are ridiculous, I should have turned around as soon as I read the sign on the front door. I will never get rid of the stench that is burned into my nostrils. The woman working was just as unpleasant as the smell of the shop. I'm not sure how you can find any "treasures" since it is packed to the brim with trash. Tips for future shoppers- wear a hazmat suit and burn it directly after. read more

The lady behind the counter is very rude. The docs are priced on average at 185.00...no punk will pay those prices...it's almost antithesis. They have sooooo many because they go around thrifting them or buying by the lots and turn around and do the most unpunk ish ever and try to re sell them at a 130 dollar mark up USEDDD...I know for a fact they aren't moving at those prices.....which is why they have soooo many. They have a lot of garbage in the racks. I'd rather shop a store full of nothing than a store filled with "filler". The lighting and physical plant were terrible. It's messy and unorganized. You would think the girl behind the counter would dust the shoes off once in a while...the store just looks like someone lazy af threw it together. The store has the occasional buyable piece that's almost wearable...but than you look at the price tag and no you're not in a real punk shop...you're in some poser shop who is trying to pay their rent in doc martens. I had 1000 cash money on me when I walked in....it's a shame nothing was worth buying. My advice for this shop would be to go authentic and start selling your items at resale prices. The line between thrift and retail. Be fair. You are selling used items some in bad condition and others dated and undesirable. Just a few new wearable items. read more

Growing up punk rock, I miss stores like these! Amazing punk shirts, and a collection of original vintage Doc Martins made in England- they literally don't make them in this quality anymore! Also- THE BEST COLLECTION OF RARE WEEN MERCH I'VE EVER SEEN! This store is a treasure and has been written up as the best in New Hope and Bucks County. And the owner is super cool! read more

Great store. Lots of things to browse through (I'm sure you could order some stuff cheaper online), but a really nice collection of punk clothing and Doc Martens. Store is a little tiny and cramped, I wish it' wasn't so tight. The owner is very nice and friendly and will special you order things if she knows she can get what you're looking for. This place is great and jam packed with awesome gear. It is a little tight which could be a problem for some, but I enjoyed browsing the racks. There is a ton of great shirts from well known to semi obscure punk bands and a nice selection of seditionaries reprints. I can't think of anywhere else in bucks county that sells em so I grabbed one. There was a small mark on the back and even after mentioning it wasn't a big deal the woman helping me knocked a few bucks off which I said wasn't necessary but definitely appreciated. So on top of cool shit the people there are also great. Also if you're a fan of Ween this place is a no brainier with a decent amount of their merch. read more

This place is packed full of treasures. You can tell that it is a labor of love for the owner. Take your time going through the racks, selves, and piles. The longer you spend in the shop, the more local flavor you will pick up. There's often a fun and interesting cast of characters popping by. Keep up the great work Punky!!! read more

Place is awesome- full of treasures you can't find anywhere else. Great clothes and memorabilia. Anyone who complains that the staff aren't "friendly" enough need to toughen up. It's a good thing you weren't alive during the 80s, people didn't work to kiss your butt in punk stores back then and they don't now. The store is great and the owner is punk rock AF. Saturday, December 22, 2018 was my first time entering God Saves the Queens. Upon walking into the store, my eyes darted right towards the same leopard Docs pictured for the store on this page. As I pick them up, MICHELLE, "alarms" me that they are $210.00. I ask the size and she answers that they are a size 8 ( I'm a 7), and not Chinese made, but UK manufactured. Ok...interesting fact I guess. Before I start to shop, she advise me that all Doc Martens in the back are $189.99. I move along to the clothing rack and MICHELLE asks my middle-aged, WHITE male friend why he is carrying such a large bag. His response was " Oh it's my camera bag". MICHELLE disgustingly stated " That's kind of awkward to be carrying around". Once she said this, I tapped my friend on the shoulder and said " She's rude...let's go". Walked down to THIRTEEN VINTAGE where they are pleasant, kind, and not a miserable LWAG! read more

Was there yesterday on a deserted Monday. My Wife was so stoked to go there and buy something. So after lunch we stop at Nightbird (highly recommended) across the street to look at vintage clothing. Owners Mom was great and inviting. So we left there and headed across the street to God Save the Queen. As the walked in the owner/staff just dropped the attitude from the jump. More interested in sitting there checking their email then helping. The store is packed with stuff and you're constantly making sure you're not slipping or bumping into something. Shoes are stacked everywhere. Pretty sloppy. So my Wife goes up to front and asks about the a specific type of Doc Marten's. The woman there had zero interest in helping. Didn't stand up didn't offer to help and says 'the shoes are listed by sizes' and just stairs at us. Really? My Wife was really to drop some serious cash there and instead hearing that comment just looked at me and said lets go. So instead she took note of the FU sweaters on your door and will buy them online for a hell of a lot less. Total buzzkill. read more

The place, although tiny and dark, is actually pretty badass as far as punk clothing and accessories go. I got the classic Sex Pistols God Save The Queen album cover on a flag that hangs in my room nicely. The variety isn't bad and aren't as pricey as other places I've been to which is fantastic. My only issue was the girl behind the counter. I'm not sure if it was the owner, or whatever but when I went to the store in July, she was genuinely cool. I'm not sure if today was the same woman (memory is awful), but she seemed to have so much of an attitude. I asked simply about a type of jacket she may carry and not only did she say no (which in itself is no big deal) but as we kept talking and, as I explained I was a broke college student with very little time to make anything who figured I'd come here to look, she told me I'd be better off making the jacket. I reminded her I had no time really to make it, so kept it casual and told her how I was looking for a jacket much like I was wearing which she told me I should use that. I told her this jacket was expensive since I got it back in high school (when I earned enough money) and bought it from a store in Japan. She then said "well, then you're not broke then are you?" With the biggest attitude.... I felt extremely uncomfortable and judged in her presence; however, I think the store is still worth the visit. It's still a cool store with awesome items so I'd go for that and maybe give the counter girl her space unless she seems friendly enough.... read more
