I ordered for delivery and the food was ready in time. I tried - - malai kofta: medium spicy was great the taste was flavorful but I wish this was creamier - garlic naan: this was delicious but also needed more garlic but overall naan was well cooked.

The service was ok and the food was ok too. Nothing out of ordinary. The place is slightly old though and doesn't look very well maintained. We tried the chicken drumsticks for appetizers which tasted good, the chicken was a bit cold though...not properly reheated. The veg kuttu paratha was ok. Could have been a bit more spicier. The chitoor Chinese noodles was ok, quite spicy. Unfortunately our sever did not ask for the spice level...so each of our entrees ended up with different levels of spice. Ok choice if you are hungry for some Indian food, else would maybe skip. Not sure if there are other good ones around...not been in the area much.

I went for Uber Eats delivery. Everything I ordered was spicy. Avakkaya chicken dum biryani was chicken biryani cooked with some (not a lot of) mango avakkaya pickles. Chicken chitoor chinese noodles was good and spicy as well. Mamsam roast was mentioned as an appetizer, but I would say it was better as a side for some bread like garlic naan. I went for the spicy version, and for me that suited the best (as i generally eat spicy food). Quantity was good. For ordering above $40, I got a complimentary payasam, which was just alright.

    Indian Snack

Food safety issue, I brought this my favorite snack called "murukulu" which also said organic on the label. It was pretty bad and foul smell and old. How come these stores allow such old things, this store need definitely thorough inspection and also along with my Biriyani raitha had foul smell too. I would definitely rate negative for my disappointment. They charge so much for un quality food.

Did you know that Marco Polo traveled to India in 1292? Did you know that the old Marco Polo restaurant in East Hartford closed and reopened as a spiffy new South Indian restaurant named Godavari? Did you know that Godavari is a restaurant chain with 14 locations in eleven states? Did you know that Godavari serves the very best Indian buffet lunch I've ever had for eleven bucks? Did you know that the lunch spread featured twelve buffet trays (many of which contained two dishes), three desserts, and three beverages (juice, punch and hot chai). Did you know that a Yelp check -in knocks 5% off your lunch buffet bill? What a fantastic lunch I had. The food was hot, fresh, delicious, and had a real nice zip factor on the old spice scale. I loved the coconut rice and gobi, but everything I tried was very good. I'm the first to admit that I don't know a lot about Indian food, and the names of the dishes printed at the buffet trays might as well have been written in Venusian, so I'm not really sure what they were. But be they vegetarian or chicken or lamb or whatever - they were all delicious. No doubt, Marco would be pleased.

I know everybody has been waiting a long time for Godavari to open and all that crowd, the past one week is coz of the hype that's been created. Will they live up to the standards is a question that only time can answer. This was my second visit ( after the first being on the day they opened) we came here for the lunch buffet $14.99 pp ... I hated it both the times so not worth 15 bucks maybe 1-2 items on the menu are good... But not worth waiting in line for....don't take my word for it, coz my opinion is biased. They said the weekend buffet had 45 items on the menu... But I didn't see that many. That said, most of my friends seemed to enjoy the food ... They also have a live dosa and chat counter outside.

BEST! 5- Food Truck?…read moreRestaurants are on notice ... this food truck is out to take your business. The food here bridges the gap between "restaurant" and "home" Indian food. Bold flavors that also allow subtle aromatics to shine! No wonder the people in line came from Worcester, MA to Manchester, CT just for this food. Beats 90% of the Indian fare in CT. And I only say 90% to reserve for others I haven't yet tried.

**Mayabazaar: Creative Concept, Underwhelming Execution**…read more You can't miss the Mayabazaar food truck when you spot it--the exterior is a creative mashup of Indian cinema meets Marvel, with Bollywood and Tollywood actors' faces photoshopped onto the Avengers. It's quirky, fun, and definitely gets your attention. We went in with high hopes and hungry stomachs. Here's where we might have gone wrong: Mayabazaar apparently specializes in South Indian food, but we decided to venture into their Indo-Chinese offerings instead. We ordered chicken fried rice, chicken Hakka noodles, chicken lollypop, and--staying closer to their wheelhouse--South Indian thagubothu chicken. The verdict? Everything was just...meh. Nothing had that standout flavor or quality that would make you think, "I need to drive out of my way for this." We were two families, seven people total, and we sampled what felt like a rainbow of preparations from their menu. The food wasn't bad, per se, but it wasn't memorable either. None of us have made the trip back. Hartford County already has a crowded field of Indian restaurants, each claiming authenticity and trying to carve out their niche. Mayabazaar has real potential--the creative branding shows they're thinking outside the box. But potential only goes so far. The execution needs to match the concept. Maybe we should have stuck with their South Indian specialties instead of the Indo-Chinese route. But when a restaurant offers a diverse menu, everything on it should be worth ordering. For now, Mayabazaar remains just another option in an already saturated market.

There not a lot if decor either. The music is authentic and they play Indian MTV. The immediately start you out either a beer pitcher of water. For my drink, I'm having a Limca (you just grab it out of the cooler). Limca is an Indian multinational brand of lemon- and lime-flavoured carbonated soft drink made primarily in India and certain parts of the U.S. It contains 60 calories per 150ml can. The formula does not include fruit, relying instead on artificial flavours. In an interview in 2008, Ramesh Chauhan of Parle Bisleri revealed that he had approached the owners of Duke's Lemonade, requesting them to share the formula for the drink with the promise not to make it in India, which was turned down. Chauhan decided to come up with his own formula, which he launched under the Limca brand in 1977. In 1992, when the Indian government allowed Coca-Cola to return for operations, at the same time as it admitted Pepsi for the first time, Coca-Cola bought local soft-drink (soda) brands, from Parle Bisleri owner Ramesh Chauhan including Limca, Thums Up (a cola-like drink), Maaza (a mango-juice based drink), Citra (a clear lemon-lime drink), and Gold Spot (orange flavour). Prior to 1988, the original formula of Limca contained brominated vegetable oil (BVO). After worldwide reports of ill effects of BVO, its use in soft drinks was banned in India. As a result of this ban, the formula for Limca was changed. This is good (artificially flavored or not). For my soup, I'm having the Chicken Hot and Sour (spicy). This is a popular Indo-Chinese soup made with mixed vegetables, mushrooms, soy sauce, herbs and spices. It has a balanced taste that is spicy, tangy and hot. The soup is usually thickened lightly and flavored with ingredients like ginger, garlic, vinegar and pepper. This is good! It's not too salty. It's hot and spicy. Lots of chicken too (it's small chunks and at the bottom). Ceramic plates and metal silverware. That's a good sign! For my appetizer, I'm having the Chicken Makai Kebabs. Otherwise known as Reshmi kebab, this is [technically] a Pakistani dish of boneless chicken marinated in spices, cream, and cashew paste, and then grilled in a tandoor. The name "reshmi" translates to "silk" and describes the kebab's tender, silky texture. Some recipes use ground chicken and cream cheese to achieve this silky texture, creating a "seekh" kebab instead of a "boti" kebab. Indians make it a lot too. This is a LOT to eat! It's steaming hot! It takes a while to cook so be patient. The spices are defining unusual. I like the Indian version of cole slaw too as a side dish except they use of onion. It's crunchy. Yummy! There is a new place opening up across the mall called Sakura Haven. The new venue plans to feature an anime theme with cosplay, a live DJ, karaoke, and other themed entertainment events. Signs were recently installed at their new space. Sakura Haven has been operating as a pop-up at various bar around Connecticut. The new venue is their first physical location. For my entree, I'm having the Chicken Madras. Chicken Madras is a flavorful, spicy, and tangy Indian curry originating from the southern region of India and the city of Chennai, formerly known as Madras. The dish features chicken in a rich tomato-based sauce made with a unique blend of Madras curry powder, which is a mixture of South Indian herbs and spices. The curry is known for its heat, which comes from chili peppers or paprika, and its tangy, citrusy notes. I'm told they use coconut here. You can add naan but I don't eat a lot of bread. This is steaming hot! I love this sauce! It's not very spicy but I like it! What a great meal here!

Since covid restrictions lifted, we've resumed dining out but somehow forgot about Utsav. We remembered yesterday and last night we finally returned. What really shocked me was that the prices on my bill were not the same as the prices on the menu. Entrees were $1.50 more and sides were $1.00 higher. No mention of it on the menu, by the server, or posted anywhere in the restaurant. Not huge differences - 6 to 15% increases, but I feel a bit ripped off to be shown one price and charged another. One Thursday evening we wanted to go out for dinner but didn't have a plan on where. My fiancé was just driving and we saw Peppers and was like, ok, today is the day! The parking lot was decently packed so that was a good sign. Upon entering, we did not realize how large the inside of the restaurant was. Plenty of seating and there was another room on the other side with even more tables. Our waitress asked if we would like to look at their buffet options and after a quick look, we decided to just order off of the dinner menu for our first time. The place was a tad bit warm for my liking, but hopefully that's only because it was 50° outside. I always get the chicken tikka masala when I try new Indian restaurants as a baseline on how I determine if I liked their curry. My fiancé was a bit more adventurous and tried the Karaikudi chicken. We got two orders of naan, the garlic and bullet, and shortly after our food arrived. I went over to wash my hands before feasting and saw there were sinks lined against the wall.. The soap dispenser worked but none of the sinks had running water. So, I headed over to the bathroom, soap in one of my hands. The tikka masala was on the thicker side of what I'm used to, and was not as red compared to other places. I appreciate the light use of red food coloring, but the thickness of the curry kinda threw me off. I also asked for it spicy but this tasted more of a medium level, when I wanted that nose-dripping sweating feeling. I appreciated the amount of chicken that came with it, but it wasn't as fall-apart tender as I would have liked. It also seemed as though this was made in bulk and just scooped out when ordered because it was just warm and not as hot. Not my favorite tikka masala, but I would try another one of their dishes. My fiancé thoroughly enjoyed his Karaikudi chicken. He ordered his as medium spicy but it came out spicier than my dish. His was also a lot hotter in temperature so I enjoyed it more as well. He had a pleasant experience and would return. The naan was the star of the show. I enjoyed the slight crisp and chewiness and it paired well with the curries. I did not appreciate how the hot curries were served in plastic dishes as that is not the best for your health. For something that high in temperature they should consider investing in ceramic dishes. We were also given cheap plastic black dishes to eat on. I was curious about how much the buffet costed so I asked our waitress. I'm not sure if it was her thick accent but I'm pretty sure I heard $49.99 per person. Holy cow. We were there for dinner time but what an incredibly steep price! My fiancé and I ended up spending around $50 with enough food to also take home with us. We cannot justify $50 per person without food to take home. Indian is an incredibly dense and heavy food to consume! I'm really hoping I misheard her, but if that wasn't the case, we wouldn't try their buffet and just order off the normal menu. Overall, we may return to try again. I was pleasantly surprised at the service and ambiance of the place. From our experience, we usually order take out at Indian restaurants because the service is usually lacking, the vibes aren't right, and there's usually a finger in our food as it arrives to our table. The servers had gloves on here and there was an Indian soundtrack playing in the background. Lots of different people were present and service was pretty tentative. Other than the buffet price, I'd say the normal dinner menu's prices were pretty comparable to most others. The service, naan, and my fiancé's dish were a win, and might be enough for us to return on our next Indian night out.

I wanted to share some honest feedback regarding our recent visit to Peppers restaurant,…read moreManchester, CT for the Sunday Lunch buffet on 31st May 2026. We arrived at Peppers at 11:45 AM, in line with the opening time of 11:30 AM listed on their website. However, despite being seen by a staff member (lean and tall girl), we were not acknowledged nor informed of any delay. This left several families, including ours--with kids--waiting in the reception area without any guidance. Only at 11:59 AM were we told that the restaurant would open at 12:00 PM, but we were not allowed in until 12:05 PM. If the actual opening time is later, it would be helpful to update this on their website or at least communicate it to waiting customers. Once we were seated, we noticed that the buffet did not include all of the items advertised on their Facebook page and WhatsApp menu. Most notably, the Goat Dum Biryani, which was a deciding factor for us in choosing their restaurant, was missing. This was particularly disappointing as my son cannot eat chicken for medical reasons. When we inquired, the manager informed us that the biryani had burned and was therefore unavailable. Given their experience running this restaurant, it was surprising that only the mutton biryani was affected, while the chicken and vegetarian options were not. Even so, it would have been appreciated if a suitable replacement had been offered, as was done with Coriander rice substituted for Coconut rice. We also noticed that other items--like Fruit Salad and Pickle--were absent from the buffet table, with no replacements provided. Upon requesting mutton biryani just for my son, we were told that mutton was not available at all. Finally, manager offered not pay for my son and have other items instead. As we were started with starter already, we decided to continue the lunch there itself. The situation became more uncomfortable during billing. The same staff member (same girl) who had not acknowledged us earlier came to our table before even we finish the lunch, and after we reminded her about the manager's offer to not charge for my son, she argued with us for quiet sometime instead of checking with the manager. She left abruptly and did not return for quite some time. When I went to her to request the check, she asked me to wait at the table, then delayed further (8 minutes) before finally coming over after another family also asked for their check. The payment process was handled coldly, with no eye contact, thank you, or even an offer for a receipt. The lack of courtesy, missing menu items, and inattentive service made for a very disappointing experience. We came to your restaurant after carefully reviewing your menu online, only to find major items missing and staff who seemed indifferent to guests' concerns. To summarize: - Goat Dum Biryani, Fruit Salad, and Pickle as listed on the menu were unavailable, with no replacements. - Coconut rice was replaced with Coriander rice without notice. - Stirrer was missing from the coffee table setup - Website states opening at 11:30 AM, but guests were not allowed in until after 12:05 PM, with no explanation. - Poor customer service and attitude from staff, which could impact repeat business. I'll not recommend this restaurant to anyone going forward. I hope the management take this seriously and take appropriate action to fix these concerns for their long run.

Ordered both lunch specials and a pani puri to try their take. Food came out reasonably quick. Server was a little hovery so we couldn't talk about the dishes as we ate them. Lead to some awkward moments. The dosa lunch was good. Very much different types of bread and sauces to dip them.none of the sauces had a lot of spice or flavor, which was a letdown. The fried bread was very savory, and the steamed bread was like a masa bread which was a good sauce sponge. Just needed more flavor. The northern Indian lunch was more similar to other dishes we had. The carb being rice and the curries with a bit more body to them. Still lacking spice, but not bad. The carrot and cardamom sugar dessert was a tad too sweet. Needed to tamper the raw sugar flavor down a bit to let the carrot and cardamom flavors play off each other rather than both getting obliterated by sugar. The dosa was fun, the peas and mashed potato were bland, but the crispy dosa had a cheesy like crisp to it which was nice. Price was cheap, everything came out to around 25 bucks. I would hope for more flavor out of these style of dishes, but it was okay for the money.
