Also, this location was my only choice because it's the only branch open Sundays. The collection is entirely on the main floor. When you come in, fiction is mostly to the left and through the center, children's in the back left corner, non-fiction center back, and a huge section for genealogy research in the back right corner. In the front right side and corner is a computer area open to all visitors - it seems like a first come first served situation. There's also an armed police officer who seems to be always on duty here at a desk near the front. It's actually my first time seeing this in a library, and I come from a much larger city. Staff was helpful in getting me signed up. Probably the greatest benefit is in being able to join the Libby app for ebooks and audiobooks. But nothing will beat the brick and mortar library for things like graphic novels and a nice focused place to study.

On the main floor theres a help desk where the workers are very knowledgable and are always willing to help you or direct you where you need to go. If you're not comfortable studying or being around people, they have study rooms available that you can book online through the TTU website. The parking lot is HUGE so unless it's finals time, you'll always find a spot. There's a little cafe to the right when you first walk in, but it is only open during certain hours. It has a lot of different things to choose from. The library also offers free wifi and WEPA printing.

Amazing set of stacks, a 3D Design lab with gaming software, and the whole downstairs (main floor) has been redone since I came in 2008 with projection screens and collaborative pods for group work. It is a dream come true for group projects! Really great use of its funding. Thanks Mike Leach! And others. Illiad always got my article requests quickly and correctly. Often has in-progress work presentations, like poster sessions, for undergraduate and graduate research. Lots of tables for working, little cubbies for privacy, and good wooden chairs that you can sit in for hours without getting sore! :) Love this library and I probably spent 50% of my 5 years of PhD work in its halls.

But this college in the dusty Panhandle town of Lubbock, Texas, ain't so bad as the low rated reviews say. It is NOT a big city. Bigger than most towns within 340 miles or so, but it's still got that small town vibe. My daughters' doctor and many other really good doctors in this vicinity studied and/or graduated from TTU. I have taken family members to Texas Tech health care facilities all over Lubbock. The staff members' compassion and competence have meant the world to me. I didn't attend Tech for a reason. I had the chance, but I didn't want to go to the same damn school as everyone else from my high school. Lol. I also didn't see the point in spending the tons of money since I knew I wouldn't be getting a full scholarship. My uncle graduated from here, though, and played baseball. Wreck 'Em! I have been here for all kinds of events and most recently my two young daughters and I walked across the campus during the day and then later on the night of April 25, 2026. The campus was well-lit in most areas. My daughter who is in seventh grade is already expressing interest in this place to become a vet. She has a while to go, but they are already pushing the college degree plan in her school. We'll see... The Red Raider mascot is one of the most unique in the country. There are traditions here. It's a long not smooth drive from D/FW area...Once we got there on a Saturday at 8:30am, I expected…read morea very EXCITING welcome like when you tour LSU, especially since there was over 300 people/families present...NOPE...we just sat QUIETLY and ALONE for 30 mins, no presentation, no music, nothing...we was given plastic bags at arrival to carry around campus on a hot summer day (100 degrees) not backpacks like they give you at Baylor, Texas A&M, LSU and OU. They also gave us luke warm Dasani bottled water vs. ice cold as they told us it was going to be 100 degrees for the 2 hours we are in the heat. Ok, that wasn't it..we did not enter ANY of the academics buildings. stating that it was because it was a saturday and they were locked!! WELL UNLOCK them when you know you have 300 people coming from Dallas, Houston, New Mexico and California to TOUR!!! This was VERY disheartening...Don't keep us in the heat and talk to us about how NICE the honors college is with a chic fila and Starbucks or about the largest classroom but we can't see it...not when we JUST left Texas A&M and they toured us INSIDE 11 of their academic buildings on a SATURDAY in the cool air-conditioned seats and talked to us about their college of medicine, etc...and we had to drive farther to get here! Then, we only saw ONE dorm OPTION...NO WAY!!...we wanted to see at least 3 when you have over 8 or give us a map to tour off-campus apts as an alternative (like they do at TA&MU)...and the campus needs at least 1000 more trees on it...it looks very dry and desolate.. The kids (tourist) and the buildings were clean. Unless you are alumni kids or just love the color RED, I don't see the appeal personally...College Station is a nicer city, San Marcos is prettier, Austin is weirder (lol), Waco is smaller, Houston is more appealing and Dallas is classier so it comes down to legacy obviously..

While my daughters and I remained primarily at the Church Of Christ Green Lawn, we noted how clean and well-maintained the campus was. Academically, LCU offers undergraduate and graduate degrees and has been ranked as a "top 20% best college in America." Their class sizes boast a 12:1 student to professor ratio. The Chapparels boast several men's and women's athletic teams: Baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, softball, tennis, track & field, and volleyball. Additionally, they have cheerleading. This is a smaller private university, but this is the good part on it. You can walk in less than 5…read moreminutes to every important building. The campus has a lot of tress and looks friendly. The Staff is extremely friendly and helpful and it is like a small family.

I would say I learned more from the online classes then the in-class​​s classes. 2. They save you so much time because you don't​ have to make it to the class you can do it on your own time. Dr.Giberson, Dr. Hoover, Dr. Stevens, ​and Dr. Lux​ are my favorite​ professors. They have changed my life and I am really grateful​ to have taken their classes. People coming into the Rawls: You can probably coast by and make sold Cs and learn nothing. But if you really want to change your life, listen in all of your classes and invest in your future through the knowledge you can obtain​ through​​ your classes.
