    Drag brunch
    Jahmelia B.

We decided to hit up drag brunch to celebrate my friends wedding and we had a blast!!! Heres what I loved -The process to book a reservation was super easy online. You do have to put down a 20 dollar deposit to hold the reservation. You card will only get charged 20 per person if you DONT show up. -The drag queens accept tips electronically via Venmo or other apps if you don't carry cash. -The staff is friendly and super accommodating -The queens put on a really good show. The day we went there were 4 queens who each performed 2 different sets. -The vibe is great. Everyone is there to have a good time. There were people celebrating 24th birthdays, 50th birthdays and a 80th birthday. I am calling this out because this is a great place to come and have fun with friends of all ages. -Restrooms: They have 3 gender neutral restrooms located in the back of the facility Here's what I didn't like: -the brunch menu is small but mighty (You can review online ahead of time) each meal cost 30bucks and comes with unlimited non alcoholic drinks. Cocktails cost extra. -I ordered eggs Benedict with crab. It also came with a salad. The food was good but needed more seasoning. I know food cost are increasing but this just seemed a little high for what you actually get. Overall I enjoyed my experience and would return.

What a treat this event was. My Mom has been begging to do a drag show since COVID has calmed down. So for my parent's 40th wedding anniversary, we made a reservation for 10 of us to attend a Sunday Drag Brunch. Performances were awesome. Staff members, including bartenders were amazing. Food took over an hour but didn't disappoint once served.

I had been hearing about this spot for drag brunch and finally got around to checking it out. Godfrey's is a super fun and high energy place! The waiters do a great job keeping the tables hype before the entertainment starts. They take food and drinks orders beforehand. I ordered the Godfrey's club with home fries. For my drink I ordered the frozen drink called "Juicy Wet Lips" and it was really tasty. The club was delicious too but the home fries were a little undercooked. The show was a lot of fun and very entertaining. The performers didn't really dance much but rather they walked the room and lip sync songs. I was waiting for some twirls, splits or drop it like it's hot situations lol! The drag performers attire was beautiful! Overall it was a great time and I would return.

Godfrey's drag brunch is a fun way to spend a weekend morning. We were entertained by four drag artists who each performed two sets. The performances were energetic and engaging, and the costumes were very elaborate. The venue can feel a little cramped, since they try to fit as many guests as possible while leaving room for the drag artists to move around, but my party of six was comfortable at our table. The food service was a little slow, since they were very busy that morning, but the food and drinks tasted good. Brunch costs $30 for food and non-alcoholic drinks; the food is a bit expensive due to the fact that it includes entertainment, but the entire experience is worth it in my opinion.

Intimate small space that hosts regular drag brunches and related events. They break bills but also offer cash app to tip the talent

I cannot believe it's taken me so long to go to Drag Brunch at Godfrey's. I have no excuse, it's just never happened. That changed Xmas Eve 2022, when I took my sister to brunch'n'frolic, and discovered thar yes, indeed, Godfrey's deserves its spot on Top Ten lists of best drag venues in the US of A. My sis had never been to a drag show, and when we were watching an ep of HBO's Emmy winning show about drag and being LGBTQ+ allies, We're Here, she said she'd never been to a drag show. Opportunity! We had an absolute blast. Food was great - I had the Chesapeake Benedict, sis did their steak and potato salad - and the Bloody Marys were spicy delightfulness. Coffee was good, too, so bonus! Service was great fun - everyone was fun, funny, and focused on making sure everyone had a great time. Mission accomplished. The show itself was outstanding. All the ladies performed fabulously - of course! - and dollar bills were flying from start to finish. Speaking of which, make sure you bring at least a couple $20s to turn into singles, so you can make it rain for the ladies. It's part of the show, and they are more than worth it! Highly recommend that you take in a drag show at Godfrey's if you visit Richmond. If you're local, put it on your list of fun hrunch options, definitely a place you can take folks who visit Rivah City.

OMG...why haven't I came here SOONER! The show was nonstop amazing & entertaining to say the least. I was there to celebrate a friend's birthday and it did not disappoint. The MC great and all the ladies who put on a show were just awesome. Can't wait to come back & by the end of the show...all the ladies looked like Beyoncé! Good times and good vibes. The ONLY negative was that my food came towards the end of the show so I felt rushed to eat. However the meal was delicious so I didn't mind too much.

A great brunch to celebrate a friend's birthday! The performances were fab, and our server was hilarious. Definitely get there on time (be respectful!!) and you won't have issues getting your orders in. Drinks were very inexpensive. Food options were good. Also, you can trade cash or credit card for 1s to tip which is great! They also have contactless tipping. We had so much fun and the atmosphere is welcoming!

Definitely a spot to try if you're visiting or live in Richmond. It's a tight space so you need to make a reservation at least 2 weeks in advance. They have two different tip options. You can either get cash when you get there or tip via Venmo. My party chose Venmo but regretted it as it's much more fun and part of the experience to actually tip during each performance. Every lady was wonderful, talented, and fun! If I was rating based of the food I would have done probably a three but you don't go to Godfreys for the food. The entertainment is why you're there and they are five stars!

The drinks are strong , the energy is high, and the food is good (I got the banana stuffed french toast and it had a nice side of potatoes, 8.5/10) Highly recommend for any celebration or a sunday brunch. It also went on for a while; I was expecting a quick show, but no, each performer had around 3 sets, giving us a solid 2 hour show. Crowds are diverse. A welcoming space for anyone! Highly recommend.

    Good times!

Fun ambiance! Good food and fun show carried out by 100% local drag queens. The service was phenomenal too.

YAAAAAAAASSSSSS.... It's a place to go! my girlfriend decided that she wanted brunch and of course as a Boyfriend with the mentality happy wife happy life I obliged. She ended up picking Godfrey's for a Drag show... let me tell you something THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! . We were seated by Mr. Jeff who looks mean but is a big softy! He exchanged some big bills for some ones for us ( for the show ). As the show was beginning we put in our orders for drink I had a purple rain and my girlfriend had a OG mimosa. For food we got the French toast and the Eggs Benedict. The only downside of the whole experience is that the French toast was 30$. Other than that I recommend going to Godfrey's to have the time of your life! And Godfrey's if you reading this and you need a dancer I can go by Canela ( cause I'm sweet like cinnamon).

It's 1 dollar off their cocktail menu.. disappointing. They do have $3 rails. The service is bleh. We weren't given much attention despite being 2 of the 3 people at the bar. I order the Cajun chicken pasta of course and 30 minutes later it arrives. Let me tell you... it did not come through drippin. I took one bite and was disgusted. There was no sauce whatsoever on this pasta. The chicken was hard and gross. I was hurt so hurt I didn't even order anything else. I sat there and drank my water while my partner in food ate his shrimp po boy which was mediocre. The fries are lit. To my surprise, while waiting for him to finish up they brought out a brand new pasta for me to try. The guy said he made it himself and I was so shocked. He gave it to me free of charge and I'm very appreciative of his effort. The second pasta was better still not for me. I ate some of it and he let me know they would be taking it off of the menu in three days which is probably for the best. I wanted to like this place but unfortunately they just don't cut it.

There are 3 machines in the back where there had been a guy playing on the machine, but he had gotten up and was no where near the machines at this time. We ordered a drink and my wife went over to see what the machines were, what games they had and if they required cash. The "man" in question walks up and asks her "what the fuck are you doing?" She calmly tried to explain that she wanted to see what the machines were and how to play. He continued cursing at her "you can't fucking touch people's machines" "this is gambling". "I've got $350 fucking dollars on this machine" She tried to explain she was sorry and didn't know and he continued to speak to her disrespectfully and cursing at her. She walked away and asked for our tab. I got up walked over and asked him "is that how you speak to people?" He starts trying to explain himself and I reiterated that he could have said things very differently and she didn't know and that's unacceptable. He tells me to talk to the bartender. The bartender comes over and as we are explaining what happened, she says "you probably shouldn't be pushing buttons". There were no questions asked and not one word was said to the douchebag on the machine. We don't live in a state that has gambling. We didn't know he had money on the machine and we certainly weren't trying to spend his money. Ask questions, explain yourself but you don't speak to my wife that way and you will not curse at her and think it's acceptable. We were offered to go cups to take our drinks with us as we left. We were so pissed and upset, we left our full drinks on the bar and left. I can promise you this, we will not ever return here and we will make sure everyone we know is aware of how this establishment treats people who aren't regulars. It's supposed to be a safe environment for all. We didn't feel safe and we didn't feel supported. Shame on you Mr Douchebag and shame on you MJs tavern.

The place had such a great, relaxed but upbeat vibe, making it a perfect pre-show stop. Happy hour was in full swing (Wednesday-Friday, 4-6pm), so we started with the Fries and a dip deal ($4). We chose three dips: Calabrian chile mayo, house ranch, and roasted garlic aioli. The garlic aioli stole the show for me--creamy, punchy, just amazing! The fries themselves were perfectly crisp and piping hot. For drinks, my friend loved her "Secret Garden" tito's vodka, strawberry, basil, and lime, super refreshing and lightly sweet. I went bolder with the "Caffe Trieste," a dangerously good combo of Belle Isle Cold Brew Coffee Moonshine, Kahlua, Tito's, Amaro Averna, almond, cinnamon, vanilla bitters, and a coffee rinse. If you like dessert in a glass, you need to try this! Dinner did not disappoint. I had the Pesto Chicken Panino: char-grilled chicken, basil pesto, sun-dried tomato, aged balsamic, red onion, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and a zippy red wine vinaigrette, all on fresh, pressed bread with a vibrant arugula salad. Every bite was bursting with flavor, and I loved the balance of the peppery salad on the side. My friend ordered the rockfish special and was gracious enough to share a bite, so flaky and perfectly seasoned! All in all, Pinky's hits every note: quick and friendly service, creative cocktails, and food that's both comforting and elevated. Some very tender octopus, the fries are perfect for dipping more on that later. And the meatballs were great, but that Caesar salad salad is truly amazing with all of the seasonings and their homemade Caesar dressing. The fact that they make all of their sauces in house, I give a nod to the chef for that because they have some incredible sauces. One of the things that really impressed me was the fact that I ordered the fries and the waitress asked if I wanted the sampler sauces. I was thinking that that was going to be an additional charge, but I was wrong. The sampler was included with the fries and that came with about five or so of their homemade sauces. The Caribbean bean chili was my favorite, but I also enjoyed their ranch and lemon aïoli as well. They were really all great. I just want to give a shout out to pinkies for not nickel and diming the consumer when so many other restaurants and chains do that. I will be back off of that level of Customer Service service alone. I was also very impressed with the portion sizes. When you hear Tapas that typically means high price, low quantity of food. But here I feel like you actually get what you pay for. I was very impressed. A place with amazing food and a good bang for your buck is five stars any day from me. Thank you for an amazing dinner.
