I ran in for a quick breakfast before a long day at work. I was excited to try a new spot. The service was extremely friendly and quick. The server was also very knowledgeable of the menu. Now the tables are sticky and feel dirty. This was explained as needing a coat of laquer - I was like some ajax and a brillo pad may be needed. My meal was average. I got a crabcake Benedict and it was smothered in collards. Bland collards. I didn't enjoy the meal. I will try again with a different dish after a new coat of shellac is on those tables.

Came here for brunch with my boyfriend. It was our first time here. I have to take notes next time cause I forgot what our meals were so bear with me ...... I can't remember the name of the biscuit I had but it had bacon, eggs and gravy, and I got a side of the red potatoes. My boyfriend got the biscuit and gravy and the tomato soup. We also tried the grits tots, which were really good surprisingly. The food was delicious in general. The biscuits were perfect. They were not too dry, It was just right and they were pretty decent size. I love them. No, I got the flight and honestly, I was only a fan of two of the flavors on the flight so our server did replace two of our flight drinks with a flavor that I actually loved so that was awesome. Our server was really nice. I cannot remember her name, but she was very helpful and tentative. The restaurant itself was clean and nice, I did not use the bathroom there so I don't know what the bathroom looks like. I always try to check out the bathroom of a restaurant to give you guys an update on that but I did not this time so I'll do better next time. I would definitely come back.

The food was pretty good, not as good as handsome biscuit tho. Our server was sweet and helpful. There was a 25 minute wait but that's not really their fault. The decor was quite cute.

Tried The Fancy Biscuit and overall it was a solid spot. The staff was very friendly, the music selection was great, and free street parking nearby was a nice bonus. The biscuit itself was excellent, the chicken was cooked really well-nice and crsipy, and the jam was genuinely delicious. A few things could be improved though. The table was a little sticky and could have been wiped down better. The ham in the grits felt unnecessary and the chunks were way too large. Also, I could do without the drizzle on top of the biscuit since it made everything pretty messy. Still worth checking out for the biscuits and chicken alone.

Small location but the menu packs a punch! I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical about a place called The Fancy Biscuit-how much could they truly have to offer? I was pleasantly surprised. First, the service was great. We were immediately sat with no hesitation. Our waitress was nice and the food was prompt. They have such a variety of food, coffee, non-alcoholic, and alcoholic beverages-there's something for everyone. My food was great-it definitely is a fork and knife sandwich, but the bacon was thick, the chicken was well seasoned, and the white gravy was a nice compliment. It isn't something that I would have gotten, but I'm glad I did.

Okay... 10/10, no notes. We grabbed seats at the bar and the service was amazing, attentive without being overbearing, and just genuinely nice people. It made the whole experience that much better. The restaurant is cute and perfect for pictures. A few high tops and your standard tables. The food was just as good, fresh, flavorful, and worth the hype. This is one of those places where everything just hits. If you're in Carytown, go. Simple.

I love a good biscuit so you know a place called Fancy Biscuit was high on my list to try! I wanted to order everything on the menu but I eventually settled on the Sweet Heat - a stellar combo of fried chicken with housemade pickled onions, hot honey, and pepper jelly all served on a buttermilk biscuit. The flavors worked really well together and the fried chicken was AMAZING, kind of outshone the biscuit if I'm being honest. I also got a side of tasso ham and white cheddar grits which went well with the heat of the hot honey and pepper jelly as well. I lucked out on timing a bit and got there just before a big rush so keep that in mind when visiting, this place is popular and deservingly so!

If you like biscuits, then you'll love this place. Seriously, my husband craves this place, haha. We had The Fan (scrumptious gravy) and Got Your Goat (sweet balanced with goat cheesy ) and they did not disappoint! The fried chicken is so tender and the flavors of both were incredible. Also had the hot chocolate (Ghirardelli mix - very good) and the chai latte. We were very satisfied. Love the art and the vibe of the place! Service is great. Will definitely go back when we're in Richmond.

Enjoyed a late breakfast with fabulous food and very nice service! We had the following food items; My husband had the chicken breakfast sandwich smothered in sausage gravy and he loved it and thought it was good. He also enjoyed his coffee with a shot of espresso. I had the chicken sandwich with the apple slaw, apple butter and blue cheese, all deconstructed and loved all the pieces of it. The chicken was cooked extremely well and the biscuit was really good, as well as all the other parts of the sandwich The slaw was nice and crunchy and even had a little spice to it! Also tried the sweet potatoes with bacon and it was alright! Our server was super kind and accommodating and honored all of our special requests! It's not too large inside but it is nice and airy inside.

The fancy biscuit is great for breakfast. The atmosphere was inviting. Although it's small, my group of five was seated immediately. The artwork was really cool and they have mugs available for purchase. I ordered the veggie curry. It was spicy but not overpowering. I would've enjoyed a little more garlic flavor. The biscuit was delicious. I enjoyed my toffee iced coffee. Next time I will ask for light ice. Service was good and food came quickly.

A delicious, savory, and spicy biscuit and a coffee.

We arrived an hour before close, and the experience did not diminish. The staff was attentive and friendly and provided quick service, considering the crowd and staff scheduled. The ambiance and decor were clean and modern but had a homey feel. The food was delicious. I have no complaints whatsoever.

Delicious and solid portions - this place is worth coming to! They have a lot of biscuit plates (and non-biscuit plates for those interested). We got the Fan, crab cake Benedict, and a side of peach jam. The portions were so generous that we reconsidered getting a plate for each of us. Service time was as expected being that all tables were full, but we were tended to immediately upon each request. We will be back, and we look forward to trying something else on the menu.

Excellent combos Make many appearances. This place does it right. Fried green tomatoes, Pimento cheese with spicy sriracha swirl. Many biscuits with Bold fixings to try. Leave: belly full and smiling Share? Maybe Additional notes: Herb garden in the parking lot, superbly friendly staff and the perfect spot to cool off with air-conditioning when you need to escape the heat.

The menu had lots of exciting brunch dishes, appetizers, salads, soups and deli section as well. There were plenty of cocktails, beer and wines choices available too. Prices were decent. I picked the Jewish Sailor that was a combo of toast with pastrami and beef sausage with red onion and mustard. When the dish came, it looked so scrumptious. Loved the flavor of the pastrami, the crunchy sausages, crispy toast bread, coleslaw all of it. I also got to try the pierogis that were delicious as well. The service was good overall. Our waitress was attentive, while managing several tables at the same time. The dishes came out quickly despite being busy. Overall the experience lived up to the expectations.

Upon entering, I was reminded of a 1950s pharmacy by the humongous "Prescriptions" sign hanging above the bar, and the antique furniture, bar, and barstools splayed throughout Tarrant's. There was a solid crowd at the bar; it's clear there is a regular crowd that sits and hangs out here. We were promptly seated by a young blonde woman in the dining section (behind the bar). Our server, Nadia, was an enchanting brunette, training another young server, Sierra. She took our drink orders and gave us plenty of time to review the menu, checking in after a few minutes to see if we were ready. We finally decided, my partner ordered the 10" Bianca White (pizza), and I chose the Sailor Sandwich. Unfortunately, the sailor was not in the cards for me, and Nadia suggested the Reuben as they were similar. They brought out breadsticks while we waited, and the food arrived within 10-15 minutes. I was pleased with the atmosphere, the old-fashioned chandeliers, the large mirror, the floral paintings, and the rustic frames, all of which added to the restaurant's stated aesthetic. The pizza was hot and savory, while the Reuben had buttery toast, crispy corned beef, and a light smattering of sauerkraut (TBH, I didn't even notice the sauerkraut). For dessert, we indulged in the upside-down walnut apple pie, served with vanilla ice cream, all made from scratch, and beautifully delicate. Our time at Tarrant's Cafe seemed like a stroll into the past; the only indication of modernity was the ordering kiosk used by the staff. We truly enjoyed our time and had deeply meaningful conversations without enduring the hustle and bustle or the rowdy cacophony of an intense crowd.

There are two tea blends that are custom to the hotel, the Jefferson blend and the Richmond blend- we tried the Richmond blend, which was very spice-forward and flavorful. The savory tier was pretty standard- we really liked the cucumber and chicken salad sandwiches, the sweet potato biscuit was a little dry and we didn't love the spinach wrap. The tea breads were our favorite from the sweets! We had a strawberry lemon bread and a chocolate bread, they were a little different from what you usually get at tea. There were also some small patisserie treats, like a chocolate covered strawberry and mixed berry cookie. You could add on seasonal cocktail options- we tried and really liked an old fashioned and a summer mimosa. We did a prepaid Tock reservation, which came out to about $60 per person after tax and gratuity. I think the price is very reasonable for what you get, especially in such a lovely environment.
