My mom talked about this property for years. She lived in Pennsylvania and attended a wedding and…read moreshe was always convinced I'd love it here. I was living in California and every time I'd get back to the east coast, she'd suggest going here. Unfortunately, we never got to experience a visit here together after she suddenly passed from an aggressive cancer. It became my goal to come here and visit with her on my mind. Years later, I moved back to the east coast and booked a random weekend just for fun. I'm married now with kids so we made the drive here to experience all that the Omni had to offer. I've stayed at other Omni resorts and I wavered on what this place would land on ratings wise. Overall, it's a beautiful hotel with a lot of history that I loved learning about. My kids absolutely loved the indoor pool. It is as gorgeous as the photos look. It's a nice spot, especially when it's a chilly Pennsylvania day like when we visited. With that said, there isn't a ton to do here with kids. It was the perfect amount of time for us, but met other families who were struggling to keep their own kids occupied. There are some really nice trails around the property, which are perfect. And you can also check out some free toys and games from one of the shops inside. That said, if you don't have great weather, options can be limited. We didn't get a chance to visit the spa, but the space looks amazing from what I saw online. The rooms were spacious and well set up for a family. We ate at a few of the restaurants on site. Service was mostly on point though the tavern was really off. Our server was perfectly friendly but pretty much messed up the entire order. I would go back but not sure I'd be eager to rush back anytime soon. We did enjoy the experience but I think a few bumps could be worked out such as helping with our luggage upon arrival. We were able to valet but couldn't find anyone to help us with the bags and the rolling carts don't easily go over the front door to get inside. Between me and my partner, we were able to make it work. But it's those small details that make a property really stand out.

Afterward, we had lunch at the Frontier Tavern, and everything was fantastic. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service was outstanding. Every member of the staff we interacted with went above and beyond to make our visit special. From the spa to lunch, the entire experience was memorable and truly exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect way to celebrate a birthday, and we can't wait to come back again.

We went to the Barn at Allenberry for an anniversary dinner two weeks ago, and left a $30 cash tip in the folio along with our signed receipt. I just saw on my credit card statement that $25 was added to our bill without authorization. The manager credited the amount, initially stating that the server "might have mixed up my tip with a similar check at another table." When I questioned if she checked the signed restaurant receipt, she responded that "this was not an intentional or fraudulent charge but rather a processing error during tip entry." She confirmed that tips are entered manually, and that in my case, "it appears a tip was entered in error when it should have been left at zero." How was this NOT intentional since someone had to manually add the tip? Isn't it illegal to alter charges to a signed credit card receipt? Where are the checks and balances? Be sure to check your credit card charges!

When the opportunity came to spend a girls weekend away we opted for Glamping as an adventure to explore and enjoy time away to relax and unwind. I am so glad that I stepped outside of my comfort zone and enjoyed a fantastic two nights at this absolutely stunning and wonderful place. There aren't enough adjectives to describe how truly amazing this place is. It has to be experienced. Before we were even leaving we were already planning our next visit. This will easily become an annual event. No doubt. This retreat would also be a terrific place for bachelor/bachelorette parties, girls weekends, guys weekends, birthday celebrations, baby moons, honeymoons, book clubs... absolutely any reason to escape into the arms of nature where you are surrounded by the beauty of the area and amazing amenities. Regardless of how many people are in your group, this place has an option that is not only affordable but also guaranteed to give a fantastic experience to all guests in your group. There are cabins that fit 12 people (their own shower/bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, fire pit with chairs, grill), yurts (personal fire pit, covered picnic table, outdoor chairs, grill), and a main lodge room (keyless secured entry, sleeps 8, connected to communal kitchenette, showers, restrooms, lounge space, grills, fire pit). See their socials for the options. There's also a terrific map that will show you where all the amenities are located in relation to the sleeping options. Regardless of which one you pick, you will have your own personal space along with clean and well stocked communal areas. We decided on a yurt. This was on a platform with parking on both sides if needed, our own personal covered picnic table, personal grill, supply of kindling/firewood, outdoor seating, two queen beds, two benches and small table, air conditioning, two electric fans, fairy lights inside, and a small lamp. We were absolutely blown away by the amount of details that were taken in this space to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. Upon entering there's a box of necessities that were on the bed. This was full of flash lights, lighters, fire starters, fly swatter, guest book, pen, bug spray, walker talkie (in case of emergency), and some chargers. The air was already on so the untidy was comfortable when we arrived. This is a self check in and out retreat where they communicate via text and email alerting you to your accommodations. Each bed had linens provided, 2 pillows, comforters, and additional blankets at the bottom if needed. There were 16 available outlets for your things and two USB plugs. There are throw rugs and a two large entrances on either side of the yurt (both with a screen and a closed panel). There are 3 zippered windows that you can open and the top of the yurt has clear panels that you can see out of if wanted. We kept the 'blinds' up to make it cooler since this was August. It's nice to have the option to open the cloth 'blinds' from the top of the yurt so you can see the stars through the plastic panels. We kept the windows closed as we had the air and the two fans running (one oscillating) which really made the yurt comfortable even in the summer heat. When the sun went down, it was even cooler. There's a mat out front for wiping feet and a plastic mat with sides in the inside so you can take off your shoes to keep your yurt clear of dirt. There's also a metal trash can with a lid. Everything you need is here inside. It is absolutely adorable!!! The fairy lights just add to the vibe at night. The yurts do not have a kitchen or a bathroom. You have to walk to the communal area. There are two - one in the main lodge for yurts 1-6 and another smaller bath house/kitchenette for yurts 7-9. Yurts 1-3 are in the meadow. Yurts 4-6 are in a wooded area. Yurts 7-9 are near the cabins and have a much shorter walk to the smaller amenities than the others. If you need to use the restroom frequently throughout the evening, I would suggest yurt 7 as it is just a few feet from the communal bathroom. The communal spaces have been well thought out and are so incredibly clean! The main lodge had a large fridge stocked with their Meade that you can purchase, a full size fridge to throw your food in, a freezer full of ice for purchase, a sink, a coffee pot, microwave, hot pot for tea, seating area, and trash cans. There's also paper plates, bowls, utensils for you to use. They also have water bottle fillet station throughout the property and item for sale. There's snacks, Mac and cheese, ice, charcoal, gloves, hats, water bottles, shirts, etc throughout the property for sale. Simply use the QR to make the purchase. Super convenient. The main lodge had a massage room, shower room with 4 private showers where towels are provided (washrags are not so bring one - the shower has shampoo,

The overall atmosphere here, is rough. The staff are very friendly, but this place misses the mark…read moreby a long shot, and still calls itself a resort. The roadway into camp is trashed; potholes, uneven, drops from asphalt missing, extremely narrow. Our full experience: We checked in Friday afternoon, for a full stay through Memorial Day. When we arrived, the staff was friendly and we were directed where to go. Our spot? The newest and last spot on the hillside, next to the outdoor pavilion. The weather was awful, which I know isn't their fault. We tried to get settled into our spot, but couldn't get our trailer anywhere close to level; the gravel kept shifting and the tires kept digging in. So, we went to the office and bought way over priced leveling blocks. I backed the trailer up on them, finally got the trailer level, and began unhooking. Mind you, it has been pouring the whole time. We were tired and soaked. As I unhooked the truck, pulled it out of the way, and my wife began hooking everything back up, I began to bring the nose of the trailer down to level it front to rear. Suddenly, and without warning, the trailer slid forward and off the tongue block. We had X-Chalks in use between the tires, stabilizing jacks down on all four corners, but it didn't matter. The trailer slid because the gravel wasn't packed, the blocks had sunk, and the trailer tires slid right off them. Again, I know the rain nor our setup is any responsibility of the campground. But the stability and levelness of the camp grounds... excuse me, "resort"... those things are. We couldn't get the trailer off the ground, two of our stabilizer jacks are permanently damaged, and we wound up driving back home that night, completely defeated, and leaving the trailer there until cooler minds can prevail. We aren't inexperienced campers. We know the safety measures to take. This was just ugly. We returned the next day with a floor jack and a 2x6 to jack the trailer back up. We remedied the situation before going to the staff in the office about the issues. They kindly moved us to a seasonal site for the remainder of our stay. But that's not the end! Sunday evening, the resort hired a food truck and a rock band to come in and play in the pavilion. They played until after 10pm! I can appreciate their efforts, and the music was good. But 10pm is too late. The other frustrating thing that we realized after the fact... our initial spot would have been 25 feet from their giant, loud, speakers. Our second spot was across the grounds and we could still hear the music so loudly that we couldn't hardly have conversations without yelling. No warning, no notification, nothing... I will never go back. Sad, because there was such high hopes and potential.

This is actually quite a shame. Campground is nice and spaces are nice sized. What we did not like…read moreabout it is the store and pool close at 6 pm. We also asked if we could do a late checkout for 2 hours on Sunday and they wanted 30.00. It's not like the grass was cut on our site when we pulled in and I asked.
