Lovely ambience and kind staff members! We didn't make reservations but was able to snag an outdoor seat. The food, wine, and the sunset was just a perfect mix!

Lovely venue. All farm to table. Fixed price menu changes monthly. We had the Spareribs and house made sauerkraut. Amazing. Emily our server was both knowledgeable about the menu and very pleasant. Highly recommend and will be back

Had the BEST dinner experience of my life here. The wait staff was very attentive and every part of every meal was explained to us (which we found super neat since almost everything was locally sourced from the farm!). Walking around the premises at sunset with a glass of wine was absolutely gorgeous. The meal felt incredibly thought-out and everything we ate was a unique pairing that was composed of the harvest from the time of year (and was DELICIOUS - the salad dressing blew my mind). I was so impressed that the chefs here will make their own unique recipes based on the harvest monthly (this is an art!)! It made the meal all that more special and for a fancy meal, it was 150% worth the cost, especially knowing that it's going to a great eco-friendly establishment. Cannot recommend enough for a special night out!

We had a lovely time at RE Farm Cafe at Windswept. We participated in the Chef's Counter Experience and added the wine pairing. The service was exquisite. Each employee stopped by and made conversation - we felt very attended to. And the FOOD! Five courses plus some extras here and there Chef Greg created a fabulous menu and it was even more impressive knowing that most ingredients came from the property. I would highly recommend if you are looking for an upscale, intimate, and very yummy dining experience. 10/10 and can't wait to go back!!

This place is very cute. Inside is what you'd expect of a fancy farm dining experience, and outside is a gorgeous countryside landscape. The food was definitely not worth $100 though. Quality-wise, not bad, not good, just OK. Mediocre. But they make a production of the 5 course menu and make your feel special. Many reviews mention tiny portions. They are indeed tiny, but after 5 courses it adds up and no one left hungry. However, the food wasn't very exciting or anything special, really. You'd expect the same from any restaurant, at half the price tag.

Moving to State College from a foodie city was a tough transition, but RE Farms makes things a little easier. It is by far, our favorite restaurant in State College. All their food is grown on their farm or locally sourced. The menu is seasonal, so it changes frequently. Out of the five times we've eaten here, we've never been disappointed. Pro tips: in warm weather, absolutely eat outside. There is an amazing view of the hills and the chicken pen. Also, remember to BYOB!

Food and service were phenomenal! Love that they explain to you exactly where the ingredients are sourced and give you options for each course. The owners also walked around and introduced themselves to us, which I thought was such a lovely touch to our meal. The food tasted so fresh and delicious; you can really tell that they put a lot of thought into every course. What a great experience! I had such a great time and will definitely rave about it to all of my friends. (Btw, it's byob!!!)

Beautiful food, friendly staff. Felt the ambiance could be a little more fitting to the food. Lower lighting and tablecloths perhaps.

We had no idea what to expect, but had so much fun we are still talking about our evening! We registered for the Indian cuisine course (Samosas, Tikki Masala, and naan bread) that took place from 6:00-8:00 on a Saturday evening. This is a fun, lighthearted, and more of a social activity than a hard-core cooking lesson, which we enjoyed. Upon entering the establishment, we were very pleased with the bright, colorful, and simplistic decorations/equipment. Everything was very clean and no extra clutter existed, which is what one would want in a food prep area. For this class there were 3 stainless steel tables (4 people per table) set up with stools, parallel to the demonstration area. We were given aprons to wear and introduced to our assigned station and group members (We had the best and most fun people at our table!). After everyone had arrived and introductions completed an overview of the course and food was presented. Efficiency is best to describe this course. While we were watching the demonstration for one component of the meal, the assistants were placing the necessary equipment and supplies to make that component at our table. After the demo of each course/food we returned to our stations and worked as a group to prepare/cook that item. After we completed an item the assistants would take them from the station to hold for later and we returned to the demo area for the next presentation (the assistants would also clean the area during this time). This process repeated for each menu item. I wish I had this type of set up while cooking at home! After the last item is prepared, the assistants bring each table place settings and then serve all the dishes we prepared family style. I loved the family style where we actually were able to sit and enjoy a full meal of all items we prepared throughout the event instead of just tasting pieces along the way. We had a great time and are looking forward to taking additional courses in the future. Yes, the cost is a bit steep $55pp, but for 2+ hours and a full meal etc, I would go again for a date night/group outing.

We had a door that was basically to the entrance. We had to keep the blackout shade down the whole time instead of having a window we could look out of sometimes. The lights in the bathroom were crazy bright with no other option and came on with a sensor you could not turn off. Our second night, the sensor must have been tripped by people walking too close to our door (they went on as soon as you entered the room), since the lights went on without either of us getting out of bed twice. This woke me up and disturbed our sleep. Very annoying. Lionne's food was great, but the service was definitely not very good. Friendly, but not good - especially for breakfast. You pay for parking too. They charge you per night and give you two tickets to get out. You have to pay any other time. They did charge slightly less than you'd pay otherwise, but not much. If not walking to your events on campus, I'd recommend staying elsewhere.

The room was clean, the beds and pillows were comfortable and the room was incredibly spacious. The hotel served coffee in the morning and water throughout the day. The hotel offers a free shuttle to anywhere within a 5-mile radius... but there are so many people that it can take up to 40 minutes to get picked up. This was actually our plan B, as we had initially wanted to stop by The Berkey Creamery for their highly ranked ice cream, but didn't feel the extremely long lines there were worth the limited time we had to spend in State College. Admission is complimentary, although there is a nominal fee for parking in the lots. It's a decent sized arboretum/garden for being located on a college campus. There was quite a few flowers in bloom during June when we visited. Depending on your level of interest, the arboretum can be navigated in 30 minutes or upwards of an hour if you're in no rush. I especially liked the viewpoint at the far end of the grounds and the children's garden seemed to be a hit amongst families. There's plenty of benches throughout the grounds to take in the beautiful surroundings. It felt like the staff had no sense of urgency, and simple requests took far longer than they should have. Instead of enjoying the evening, we spent most of it waiting and wondering if anyone actually knew what was going on. The biggest disappointment was the bar. I ordered a Last Word cocktail, which is a classic cocktail with a well-established recipe. It should have a bright green color from the combination of green Chartreuse, maraschino liqueur, gin, and fresh lime juice. Instead, what I was served was bright red. A Last Word is not supposed to be red. Even a quick search online will show that virtually every properly made Last Word is green because of the green Chartreuse. A red drink tells me the recipe was significantly altered or the wrong ingredients were used. If you're going to serve a classic cocktail, it should at least resemble the actual drink. The poor service combined with the incorrectly made cocktail made for a very disappointing experience. There are plenty of restaurants and bars that take pride in their hospitality and their bartending. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them. I won't be returning, and I can't recommend it to anyone looking for good service or well-made cocktails.
