November 2021 - COVID Review: So glad I gave Gogiville a try after driving past it so many times since it's near home! I'll admit that I do tend to opt for the AYCE kbbq spots more often since it's technically more bang for your buck, but I do know that the meat quality can never be a match for the non-AYCE places. If you've been to Meokja Meokja in Fairfax, Gogiville is right on par with the meat quality BUT you don't actually have to wait hours for a table (at least during the couple times that I've been so far). They have a number of different meat combos you can order from or an a la carte meat menu. The combos came with a bunch of banchan and the usual tofu soup and steamed egg, but it was definitely very filling still. Price point is reasonable as well! read more

Really like that their steamed egg and complimentary soup comes in authentic stone pot like they should~ Came her with my new roommate and we beat the dinner rush on Sat night bc we got here right at 6. Absolutely love Gogiville for KBBQ with friends. I've been to multiple places in the NOVA area for KBBQ, and I gotta say Gogiville is best for quality and price. Although they don't do AYCE, their sets basically give you so much that you will feel like it is AYCE. In addition, the banchan come with so much variety and the sets each have their own complimentary side dishes (steamed egg and corn cheese). You can also tell that their meat is high-quality, unlike some of the AYCE places in NOVA. We also tried their mul naengmyeon, which might be the best naengmyeon I've had on the East Coast. It does seem like Gogiville fills up pretty quickly (no reservations), so make sure you come as early as possible if you have a big group. Can't wait to come back! read more

We got 3 meats a la carte (comes with 2 complimentary sides) for 3 people, and that was the perfect amount of meat. There was a good variety of complimentary banchan including kimchi, spicy pickled cucumbers, macaroni salad, and radish. I really enjoyed the seasoned cube ribs and soy marinated pork ribs. My little family and I stopped in for dinner after visiting the Air and Space Museum. We're not local to Centreville so we took a chance after reading all of the Yelp reviews - and the restaurant didn't disappoint! Also, super attentive staff without being overly intrusive. And as a new mommy, kudos to the restaurant for having a changing station. Knocking off one star though bc the changing station was only in the women's restroom. I don't know if it's because I came from iron age recently, but I was very pleased by my experience at Gogiville. Let me start off by saying it's pronounced "Go-Ki-ville" sort of a k mixed with a g sound. Sounds like Bulgogi without the bul! Back to what I was saying earlier, I had Iron Age's AYCE and all my meat was chewy. I was so upset at the quality of meat. Gogiville was the opposite of that. Everything was tender! Still not as tender as some of the spots I've had in LA, but they show promise to being one of the better kbbq spots in the DMV area. People often ask me what my favorite Korean restaurant is and I typically say my own since I make delicious Korean food; however, this place will be my new go to for Korean. The meats were high quality and well seasoned and so were the other delicious dishes. My mouth is watering as I write this review. They do not offer a large variety of bonchons (small complimentary sides) but the ones that you do get are delicious. I'd say it's better for larger groups of people so you can try more things however it's a clean environment with authentic Korean cuisine. I'm going to round up a few more friends to go again. After trying so many KBBQ places in NOVA, I have to say Gogiville is my favorite. The best thing about this place is the attentive staff. It was a Friday night at 6:30pm when we sat down and placed the order. Within 5 minutes, the staff brought out banchan and meat and started grilling. Every staff that passed by our table took a look and helped grill the meat to ensure we can just enjoy our meal. Anytime we wanted anything, we just looked up and someone assisted right away. My 2-year old dropped his spoon couple times (:( sorry) but every single time someone gave him a new one without us even having to ask. K-BBQ is usually a lot of work and takes time bc at most other K-BBQ, the staff isn't as attentive so guests end up having to grill their own meat or having burnts ones due to long wait time - Did not happen here. Now on to food, we ordered Combo 1, which was more than enough for 2. We ended up with leftover enough for another meal. Their bulgogi & cube ribs were both amazing, especially the cube ribs. Hubby took the first bite of cube ribs and was like "Did you order Wagyu beef?! :)" That's how soft & flavorful the beef was! Pork belly was on average compared to other K-BBQ place (missing you pork belly at Meokja Meokja). There are a lot of Korean BBQ places in Centreville... it's a hard place to survive especially during CoVid season. What I really appreciate about the owners is there willingness to use dividers to protect their patrons as they eat. Every booth is protected from the booth next to them. Their combos are great and it is plenty of food for the number that is indicated on the menu. This place doesn't serve all you can eat but not a lot of places do. After calling SO Korean on a Saturday night and getting word of a 90 minute wait for two, I offered Gogiville as an alternative, despite it being an a la carte experience. We arrived around 7pm to no wait and were quickly seated. We put in two orders of the Thinly Sliced Brisket and one of the Seasoned Cube Rib. We chose the Soybean Soup and Corn Cheese as our sides since we ordered three meats. The sides and meats were brought out quickly and the servers attended to the cooking on our behalf. Having the sauce bottles readily available on the table was a nice bonus as well. The meats immediately had a more noticeably savory flavor compared to the meat you get at AYCE spots. The sesame oil with the salt is a must for the brisket (thanks, SO). The Soybean Soup was plentifully garnished and there isn't much for me to say about the Corn Cheese other than the fact that it simply hits. Throughout the experience the wait staff was very attentive to both the grill and to any requests we had. By the time we were finished the three orders of meat didn't leave me stuffed to the brim, but my hunger was thoroughly sated. While it's hard to resist going all-out to get the most bang for your buck with All You Can Eat KBBQ, Gogiville certainly makes a great case against it. read more

My dad, being the foodie he is was genuinely surprised by the quality meat and endless sides Gogiville had to offer. My dad compares everything to "how they do it in Cali", and coming from him - this place ain't to shabby! Unlike other KBBQ restaurants, your waiter will cook the food on the grill for you instead of you cooking it yourself. Is this a deal breaker? You decide. Had such a great meal here! We went on a Saturday night and it was packed. We put ourselves on the yelp waitlist, and then had to wait about 20ish min after arriving at the restaurant. When we were seated, the waiters were great and always were quick to arrive, bring food, cook our food, get us whatever we needed, etc. I really like the sauces they had at our table. Each table has their selection of sauces and the variety is great! All the sides were so good too. We got the combo #4, which came with 4 cuts of meat. Each combo also gives you complementary sides, like the egg custard, soup, and cheese corn. Those aren't endless though-- you'll have to pay if you want more of any of it. For the meats, everything was really good, but we found the bulgogi to be average. The flavor for it was a little bland and lacking. Gogiville came on my radar when I saw it was a nice Korean BBQ restaurant in the area. Naturally, I wanted to try it out since I have been to most of the kbbq restaurants in the area - Kogiya, Sō, Iron Age, Meokja Meokja, etc. We came on a Saturday around 1pm and the restaurant was like 1/4 full. I was expecting a wait from seeing all the reviews, but maybe it's more packed for dinner time. We came with a group of 5 and opted for a 4 person combo since it usually comes with more food than quoted. We got most of the normal sauces and banchan - salad, daikon slices, potato salad, kimchi. We asked for extra banchan as well! I like how the have sauce dishes with three types of sauce (though normally I just use the sesame oil + salt sauce anyways). Food: Combo 2 (4 person - $102) - Thin sliced brisket, thick-cut unmarinated pork belly, spicy pork ribs, and seasoned cube ribs. The seasoned cube ribs were probably the best out of the bunch! Super tender with good marinade. The brisket and pork belly were solid, but still not as good as Meokja Meokja. All the combos come with soybean soup, steamed egg, and corn cheese. My only issue with Gogiville is that I am not a huge fan of the combo options, but maybe next time we can try the GV Combo 1 + an a la carte bulgolgi or seasoned cube ribs. Solid kbbq option which is pretty reasonable! I think the portions of the meat were comparable to Meokja Meokja or a little larger. read more

Don't want to compare but the menu is very similar to another popular korean bbq place in Fairfax and if you know which one I'm talking about, it's almost identical expect it's a smidge less. Standard banchan, you still gotta ask for refills of everything, and ask for lettuce but pretty good. Can't say it's the best quality of meat BUT it ain't bad. To any of my cold noodle/naeng myun lovers; this is NOT the place. I took three bites and I couldn't eat it anymore.
