When I visited, we were trying to find a nice Korean restaurant that isn't your typical KBBQ. This place definitely hit the spot. We got an assortment of items to try out. We ordered kimbap, rose tteok-bokki and some Korean Fried Chicken. All of the items that we ordered were great and satisfying. We also ordered their cold noodles and it was pretty big portions. I would say that eating here in person is probably better than doing take out. I think the take out amount is a bit smaller. So yes, I've eaten this twice and both times I enjoyed it. It's not too heavy but they also have dishes that are on the heavier side. Service wise, they were very friendly and it's a mom and pop shop. Even after 6 years, I still love this place. I usually get kimbap to go, but I recently tried their rose ddukboki and dumpling and rice cake soup (dduk mandoo guk). This is such a great hole-in-the-wall place for no-frills Korean food. The front looks like a deli but once you head in it's a nice small restaurant with a few tables. The kimbaps are massive and there are so many options to choose from, and as for entrees I love the Sujaebe, regular or cream Tteokbokki, and especially the Donkatsu. Had lot of recommendations about this place and decided to try them out for dinner . I ordered tteokbokki which is perfectly spiced and came with a egg , a kimchi fried rice that came with an egg and delicious seaweed on top and the star of my meal was the donkatsu kimbap it was nice and crunch with fresh veggies. The bibimap was good, but the mushrooms were a little rubbery. The regular beef kimbap was really good and slightly better than the spicy pork one. The donkastu tasted like comfort food! Very large portions! You can share probably mostly meals between 2-3 people. I would also call these jumbo kimbap and are expertly rolled without a ton of excessive rice. Ingredients in the kimbap are all familiar and for us we don't miss the perilla that is common in a lot of kimbap. The anchovy stock is really pleasant. If you get the dolsot maybe save some broth to mixed with the scorched rice bottom. The whole fried chicken was a nice treat to bring home. They leave vent holes to make sure the chicken doesn't steam too much. I know we should've ordered tteokguk for the new year but cravings you know.... I know this sounds strange to say, but they REALLY cook here. The full kitchen in the back means things are cooked fresh. At other spots I'm not sure how much is just heated from frozen H-Mart. After trying many of the kimbap spots in NoVA this is my favorite spicy tuna. I will come back to try more. Everything was super friendly. You don't need to speak Korean. Legit kstreet food vibe! This place is legit!!!!! It was my first time and we ordered donkatsu, udon, motnani kimbap, and cheese ddukbokki and everything was legit! The donkatsu came drenched in their home made sauce and it reminded me of the donkatsu i used to get delivered in korea. The ddukboki wasnt too spicy which was nice for kids, and udon came topped w variety of oden which was a pleasant surprise. I'm sorry, but Myung-Ga Kim Bap isn't it. People love this place for their kimbops, but our recent take-out order from this place was absolutely inedible. We ordered the usual - So Gogi Kimbop and the Jae Yook Ssam Kimbop - both of these were not fresh. Both of the meats were old and of poor quality; the pork had a very off-putting old pork odor to it. In addition, the kitchen isn't cleaning, sanitizing, or replacing their kitchen cloths and not wiping down their stations and cutlery properly, as the rolls we got had an old dishrag/mildew taste/odor to them. TL;DR: check it out if you want delicious and filling food cheap, and don't be afraid of the chili-pepper-marked stuff on the menu. The sign says "KOREAN DELI" but it's really more a restaurant than a deli. There are several booths, fairly extensive menus on the tables, etc. I really appreciated how the menu had not only transliterations but descriptions, enough to say what's in it but short enough to read quickly. (However, in my ignorance of the basics of Korean food, I still needed to Google some basics like Kim Bap, Dduk-Bokki, and Ramyeon. We have enough of a Korean population around here though that it's reasonable to expect that most of their customers would be familiar with it.) We came for dinner on a Thursday evening. Service was fairly quick, and polite. Pricing was very cheap; we had Spicy Squid Kim Bap, and Dduk-Bokki, enough to fill my wife and myself plus have leftovers, for $25 (plus tax and tip). It was all delicious, and though both were marked with a chili pepper on the menu to indicate that it was spicy, the spice was not too much. The squid and dduk-bokki (chewy rice cakes) were both cooked enough that they were tender, not TOO chewy. The noise level was good; not downright quiet (there were several other parties conversing, including kids playing and so on) but my wife and I could still hear each other easily. The atmosphere was plain, obviously not what they're emphasizing but still not at all bad. We will definitely be back, to explore more of the menu! :-) read more

Love me some good street food. I have never been disappointed with myung ga. My boyfriend always orders their donkatsu and it's delicious. Good portions! I've had their ramyun in store and it satisfied my urgent craving but.. just make it at home and take the kimbap home. This is the perfect combo to have while watching your a favorite tv show alone or with a friend ;) I've tried their udon as well and it was standard. I would still order it if I were in the mood. They don't have much seating so there's always a wait but I've never waited more than 20 mins. If it takes longer than that- just go somewhere else or order takeout. Their kimbob is great- the other stuff on the menu is mediocre (especially the tteokbokki- it's too starchy and holy hell the level of sodium is going to make me explode). Great place to stop by for a quick Korean meal. We came early on a Saturday evening to dine in and the service was exceptionally fast. Soon after the waitress took our orders, we were served complimentary miso soup and banchan which consisted of kimchi and yellow daikon. I got the combination Kimbap which included beef, tuna, and kimchi. The rolls were big and the combination flavor was great for someone who is indecisive. Note the tuna in the kimbap is canned tuna mixed with mayo like in tuna sandwiches, not sushi tuna. While I would recommend the kimbap, I wouldn't recommend the ramen. The noodles they use are like instant noodle ramen. Go for the rice cake instead. Overall this deli was unassuming and served great food quickly. Nice casual dining. These are the largest most filling kimbap (gimbap) I have ever seen. I thought the ones I usually get at H-mart were quite plump already but these definitely beat those. There is weight to the roll and no, it is not mostly rice. There is actually more filling than rice; I got the beef roll and it was filled with radish, crab stick, carrots, spinach and ample amount of beef. The seaweed glistened with I believe sesame oil, it wasn't soggy and held together well. The rice was not mushy, you could still tell each grain from each other and it had flavor that wasn't bland. All the ingredients complimented each other well and nothing over - powered each other. I also got Dduk-bokki with it as I always like to dip my kimbap in the sauce. The rice cakes were perfectly cooked, nice amount of chew without being mushy. It had fish cakes, veggies and an egg. The sauce was balanced between sweetness and spice, it also was the perfect thickness that it stuck to the rice cakes. Sometimes sauces can be very watery and this was not that. The service was very quick and they also offered complimentary anchovy soup with the meal. They will ask whether you want the soup and if you get two rolls, they will ask whether you want them in the same container or separate. My boyfriend went recently and said that they were quite busy so there was a bit of a wait for our take out order, however, they made up for it by giving two free cans of soda. The ambiance inside is similar to cafeteria style where you get a booth and can hang out with friends. I would come back with friends and order a variety of things to snack on while catching up on tea. It can be easily missed if not paying attention as the outside sign says Korean deli, but the delicious smells will redirect you to find it. read more

It's kind of like a cold spicy sweet sour slaw with noodles. Glad I did, really refreshing and delicious. The Jjambbong Soojaebi was absolutely delicious! The spicy broth and the seafood in it were cooked perfectly, and the hand torn noodles were cooked nicely as well. The whole soup is nicely portioned and well worth it. Flavor was on point! As for the Kimbap, each roll was packed with it's fillings and tasted incredible. Quality food here. The Service: Service was good. There isn't that much wait staff here since it's a very small place, so it can be slow at times. I love the food here! I have ordered several of the dishes here, and they are all very good. Recently, I have been ordering the Jaeyook Dupbap, and it is so good. The meat is tender and flavorful, and I love the veggies that are in it. The portion size is also huge. Other dishes I have tried include the Donkatsu, Yang Yum Chicken, Bulgogi, Kimchi Fried Rice, and some of their Kimbaps. They are all really good, especially the Yang Yum Chicken. The chicken is always super crispy, and the sauce is perfectly sweet and spicy. The donkatsu is always super crispy and tender, and I like the sauce that comes with it and the side slaw. The Kimchi Fried Rice comes in a humongous portion, and it is well seasoned and flavorful. The Kimbaps are packed full of ingredients, and the meat that comes with them is tasty. The restaurant itself is super small and quaint. There isn't a ton of seating, and I definitely prefer picking up from here rather than dining in. I can't really comment on the service because I usually order takeout from here, but I have sat down and eaten here several years ago, and the service was good from what I remember.
