    Kimbap and bibimbap

Myung ga hits it out of the park with bibimbap to go and dolsot to eat in. Always yummy and as I would expect bibimbap to be. Love crispy rice from dolsot bibimbap. Service is efficient. Can get busy so sometimes there might be a wait if you're eating in. I always order extra kimbap so I have leftovers for lunch.

We ordered kimbap, rose tteok-bokki, and the half-and-half Korean fried chicken. The portions were pretty generous and we enjoyed everything. One thing about the tteok-bokki though was that it had a lot of cabbage and onions and I would have liked some more actual rice cakes. The staff were also very friendly.

This is such a great hole-in-the-wall place for no-frills Korean food. The front looks like a deli but once you head in it's a nice small restaurant with a few tables. The menu is large and not too expensive- lunch for two was under $30 including tip! I got tteokbokki and my friend got cheesy ramen. The cheesy ramen had a surprisingly complicated broth and noodles with a great chew. The tteokbokki was delicious! The red sauce had a bit of a kick to it and the noodles were chewy and savory. It was a great lunch!

My favorite go-to spot in Nova for comfort Korean food. The kimbaps are massive and there are so many options to choose from, and as for entrees I love the Sujaebe, regular or cream Tteokbokki, and especially the Donkatsu. The Donkatsu size is huge and the 2 sauces it comes with, the salad sauce and Donkatsu sauce are sooo good. Aside from the food, the interior is a small, cozy vibe with booth seating, and the service is always super quick and efficient.

One my favorite Korean homestyle places in NOVA. Been here countless number of times at this point for years, always order the same things and it hits just right every time. I recommend the tonkatsu kimbap and the bulgolgi kimbap + tteokbokki (or rabboki) with extra cheese. Not a huge fan of their fried chicken but their bibimbap is great! Service is quick and the staff are attentive. The restaurant itself is very small and cozy with booth seating.

Had lot of recommendations about this place and decided to try them out for dinner . I ordered tteokbokki which is perfectly spiced and came with a egg , a kimchi fried rice that came with an egg and delicious seaweed on top and the star of my meal was the donkatsu kimbap it was nice and crunch with fresh veggies. Altogether the meal came out to 40 bucks which isn't too bad, and the portions are very generous. I should have at least three meals from these portions alone. 10/10

Delicious gimbap--fresh, tasty, and super satisfying. They also give free kimchi and hot soup on the side, which makes it feel extra homey. Honestly the best for the price, definitely worth it if you're craving a quick and affordable Korean bite.

Tried this place on a Friday for lunch and it was busy! There is a lot of parking in this plaza. The restaurant itself is sort of hidden and it says Korean deli on the outside. When you go inside, it's a cozy restaurant with maybe seating for 10-12 parties/tables. We ordered the bibimap, two diff kinds of kimbaps, and donkastu. all the food were very generous portions! The bibimap was good, but the mushrooms were a little rubbery. The regular beef kimbap was really good and slightly better than the spicy pork one. The donkastu tasted like comfort food! I'd return to try some of their other menu items!

Very large portions! You can share probably mostly meals between 2-3 people. I would also call these jumbo kimbap and are expertly rolled without a ton of excessive rice. Ingredients in the kimbap are all familiar and for us we don't miss the perilla that is common in a lot of kimbap. The anchovy stock is really pleasant. If you get the dolsot maybe save some broth to mixed with the scorched rice bottom. The whole fried chicken was a nice treat to bring home. They leave vent holes to make sure the chicken doesn't steam too much. I know we should've ordered tteokguk for the new year but cravings you know.... I know this sounds strange to say, but they REALLY cook here. The full kitchen in the back means things are cooked fresh. At other spots I'm not sure how much is just heated from frozen H-Mart. After trying many of the kimbap spots in NoVA this is my favorite spicy tuna. I will come back to try more. Everything was super friendly. You don't need to speak Korean. Next time we'll probably order more noodle dishes.

Delicious and filling, one of my favorite spots in VA. The kimbap and tteokbeokki are my favorites. Great casual spot and it's all 4 seater booths, but they have a couple chairs they can pull up if you have more than 4. Service is smooth. Will definitely be back.

I had the donkatsu and spicy tuna Kimbap. Was incredible!! GF got the Sujibe with anchovy broth and pull apart noodles. I got to try that and it was delectable.

Still my fave go to place for kimbap. Staff is quick orders, too. I love this place and it's so convenient. So worth.

What are the items that are vegan or can be made vegan?

This is a meat place, I would not suggest a person that wants vegan go here. It would be like going to a vegan restaurant for a juicy steak.

Evelyn and Brenna were super attentive, checking in just the right amount and making helpful suggestions when we asked about specials. They made everything feel seamless, so we could just focus on enjoying the food and drinks. Speaking of food... HOT POT HEAVEN. I loved the all-you-can-eat selection here which included unlimited meats, seafood, fresh veggies, noodles, and more. My go-to broth will always be the tom yum! It is bold, flavorful, and pairs perfectly with literally everything here. For about $14.99-$19.99, you can upgrade your hot by adding premium A5 wagyu, snow crab, or a whole lobster. It's so worth it! For Lunar New Year, Hot Spot is running a deal right now where you buy 3 drinks, get 1 free, which is perfect for trying a few different ones! They were able to accomodate us. The owners/managers were very helpful and friendly. I opted for the Steak teriyaki bento box with came with steak (medium rare) teriyaki, rice, 3 tempura shrimp, 2 tempura veg, 3 cali rolls, 3 gyozas, miso soup & salad for about $22.00. The miso soup was good but the salad was avg. The dressing got really watery. The gyozas & Cali rolls were fair but generous servings of tempura were outstanding! Crisp & hot. Even after 10 mins. Not oily or greasy. The rice was cooked properly. The only misstep was the steak. The steak was also cooked properly at medium rare & looked beautiful. The inside was nice and pink. But upon chewing, the steak was not tender at all. Very very chewy. When you were young, you were taught fo chew at least 30 times. Well, this exceeded the recommended amount of chewing. The steak has a nice beefy flavor but just tough. SHAME. Overall, Sweet Ginger is a very popular and nice place to have Japanese food. The sushi plates (not pictured) were colorful and beautiful. My cousins finished the plates so thats a good thing. The steak was just not great for me.

Food was a mixed bag. We started with the yuk hae and mandu, which were solid but not particularly memorable. A note for the mandu was that it came out soggy and sat in water which was a bit disappointing for the price point. The meat quality was excellent though, with great marbling throughout the meal. The banchan leaned lighter in seasoning than I'm used to, but the broccoli and marinated quail eggs were standouts. I also appreciated the variety of salts served alongside the meats. My favorite was the volcanic salt! Service was where things fell short. We felt rushed or almost transaction for most of the meal, and it seemed like closing duties took priority over the guest experience. Tea refills took a while, banchan refills had to be requested multiple times, and there wasn't much guidance throughout the grilling experience. We had to ask what cuts we were eating and what each salt was. At this price point, I expect a little more storytelling and attention to detail. The grill also ran extremely hot, making it easy for some cuts to cook past our preferred temperature and constant smoke blew into the middle seat's face. A few tips: don't wear your nicest clothes because the ventilation isn't on the same level as Seoul Prime or Ingle. Make a reservation if you want a grill table, and don't be afraid to ask for banchan refills!! Would I come back for Korean BBQ? Probably not. I'd personally choose Seoul Prime or Ingle. That said, I saw several main dishes that looked promising, and I'd be open to giving the restaurant another shot. The foundation is there, but for the price and the hype, I think the overall experience needs a bit more refinement.
