When you walk in you can get Korean menu or Korean BBQ. We opted for BBQ which is an expierence. There is a grill plate in the middle of the table and you order a group or meat. We got the port and beef for 3. It was perfect for 3 (2 adults and 1 teen). It came with 3 full sides to share and rice for each person. The meat is mostly not seasoned but you have 3 dips on the table to use once your meat is cooked. The folks there were attentive and helpful as this was our first time to a Korean BBQ place. If you are not sure what to eat and you are a little apprehensive about wierd food, your safe here plenty of foods that are not to intimidating or odd. I love the sirloin and brisket cuts. My son loved the short ribs and hubby's favorite was the pork belly. It's pretty casual good for lunch or dinner.

The food and variety were excellent. The only drawback was the manager. Upon entering the restaurant, I asked for Korean barbecue. They insisted I sit at a regular table, but I informed them several times that I wanted Korean BBQ and was willing to pay an additional fee for being alone. Finally, after being seated at the Korean barbecue table, the manager came over in a very insistent, unfriendly manner and insisted that I order two meats to sit there. He did not specify what additional sides come with the dish and was focused on judging and insisting that I must also order more. I agreed to order two meats, which I did. The manager then came by my table and explained that I must put all the meat on the grill at once, but I chose to put only half on since I am dining alone. It seemed like the staff was very on edge around him, creating an overall atmosphere that was very uncomfortable. Upon finishing my meal, he then told staff I could not leave with my Soju drink, despite being in Louisiana. Overall, I would not return, as it was not a very friendly experience, aside from the two servers who were extremely kind to me. Highly recommend sending that manager to training to be much more courteous, professional, and kind. Not sure what the manager's name was, but I was dining on 5/31 around 7 PM.

Really check this place out! They finally have an actually grill for you to grill your own meat! The staff was very friendly! Really recommend if you haven't had a Korean bbq experience!

We were given the choice of sitting at a regular table or the bbq area (hibachi).

My party and I had a wonderful experience at Chen's Garden in Shreveport. We started with the crab…read morerangoons, which were fried perfectly with a rich, flavorful crab filling. We also tried the soft-shell crab--it was beautifully presented and tasted incredibly fresh. One guest ordered the seafood combination dinner and said everything was well-cooked, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. The fried rice that came with the seafood dinner was cooked very nicely with egg and great texture. Another had the orange chicken, and although there were several chili peppers in the sauce, it wasn't too spicy--just right. The orange flavor really came through, and everything was fried crisp, not soggy. I ordered the Dragon and Phoenix dinner (General Tso's chicken and shrimp with onion and ginger slices), and it was hands down the best General Tso's I've ever had. The shrimp were beautifully cooked, and I opted for lo mein instead of rice--it was fresh, lightly sauced, and not oily at all. This is not a buffet, and honestly, it felt like stepping back 40 years to when Chinese restaurants were more intimate, authentic, and personal. The staff was friendly and courteous, and the time from ordering to receiving our food was impressively quick. I highly recommend this hidden gem. They also offer sushi and a variety of lunch specials (we visited outside of lunch hours), and everything looked so good that I'll definitely be back to try more dishes.

I would skip the sashimi; it was of mediocre quality. However, considering it's Shreveport and this is a Chinese restaurant, that is to be expected. The California Roll in the combo was delicious and well-made.

It's a shame because the establishment is great and the ambiance is reminiscent of upscale Japanese dining. Service was very slow at first. It took 25 minutes to get our soups and salads and an additional 10 to get our sushi rolls. I ordered two hand rolls, when they got to my table they were in the shape of cigars, more like uncut rolls than hand rolls. Our server seemed to be in a disagreement with the host and kept disappearing for extended periods of time. Our cook was something else. After my son told him it was my birthday, he seemed to do things to intentionally make the experience miserable. He started by pouring Yum Yum sauce on the noodles while they were on the grill, much to the disgust of mine as well as other parties at the table. As he served food, he gave extras to everyone but me and kept saying things like "birthday girl, how do you like that?" It's fine, I want food that I paid for and wasn't expecting extra, it just seemed sort of odd. He proceeded to undercook my scallops and overcook my filet. When I asked for extra Yum Yum dip, he slid a greasy bottle from his cart over to me. The party next to us looked at him and said "Are you serious?" It sucks that I drove 30 minutes and picked this place because of the high praise it had received on here. Will not be returning.
