Service & food quality has been excellent on 2 visits within the past 2 months. Ambiance is warm, welcoming and pleasantly peaceful. My current favorite is the Ahi Tower and TNT. The pyramid is also a nice experience if you're seeking some crunch with your bite. I can taste the love for their craft in the food, which is why I will continue to patron this fine establishment. I think every roll is fresh and it was worth the drive over. I would say that most sushi had very similar ingredients: something fried, a fresh fish, and then whatever makes it special which makes the taste similar at times. Another way to say this is that the fish is not the star of the show, the other ingredients and sauces are. The salad sampler was actually a great deal. Lots of fresh ingredients in there. The salad was great with the ginger dressing and the miso soup was good. The service was great. Very attentive and very friendly. They were looking for more servers so they may be short staffed at times but i think it's worth the wait. The ambiance is good too. Makes you feel like you're in some place authentic. And it's locally owned. I'd say it's worth the try. You get pretty decent sushi and good options for all kinds of dishes. The service was pick up and I am happy to report that all sauces were in my bag. No sauce was missing. Missing sauce sends one into a rage. My hibachi shrimp was delicious. The shrimp were big and flavorful. The rice was perfect. The vegetables were over flowing. Now, my egg rolls were overcooked, nearly burnt to me. I don't like my egg rolls cooked this long. Either the cook forgot or these were refried. Either way, I was not happy. read more

Ordered four rolls and all were delicious. Interior was clean and the waitstaff were very attentive. The only thing that I would have liked is if all the rolls came out at the same time but that's not a deal breaker for a lower rating. Price of rolls was good too. read more

We stopped at Komo Sushi for a quick lunch. Egg rolls were served warm with good dipping sauce. We got the lunch sushi specials which were reasonably priced, and came with both soup and salad. The Miso soup was very good quality, and the salad was cool, crisp and delicious with tangy dressing. Sushi rolls came out quickly with friendly service. Hostess was very nice and welcoming. If you want to know a quiet little secret of west Shreveport this is it. The food is usually pretty consistent and inside may not be fancy but it's definitely worth checking out. The service can be hit or miss depending on how well staffed they are at the time. They do a lot of take out orders. I'm not a sushi person myself so I just stick with hibachi shrimp and rice but my wife loves it. If passing down I-20 and want a quick place for lunch this is a pretty good choice. read more

I picked up dinner here today. I ordered Egg Rolls, a Shrimp Tempura Roll, & a Veggie Roll for $32. The egg rolls were listed as four pieces, but were really two rolls cut in half, and were pretty dry. The shrimp was not fresh; it smelled and tasted fishy. The only bright spots in the order were the veggie rolls which were good. We won't be back. $32 is too much for a mostly unappetizing meal. read more

A great bang for your buck! The dinner bento boxes were MASSIVE and my friends mom could not stop raving about the chicken. The "crunch" on the sushi was very disappointing. The service was very fast though. There was nothing special about the udon noodles, they were yummy. However, the steak on the noodles was burnt. Kumo is the best sushi we've had in the Shreveport-Bossier area! We visit Tyler, TX often and stick to the mediocre sushi places there but we are so glad we found a better place closer to home! The waitresses are always so friendly! The sushi combo C is such a good deal for the generous portion of nigiri! It also comes with a spicy tuna roll or California roll! The fish always tastes fresh and the sushi chef has a great selection. The sushi rice is perfect and does not crumble under the fish. Husband and I absolutely loved this place. This visit was far from what we have previously experienced. Walking in we were blasted by freezing air. The thermostat was set to 65. Given the fact we're we're starving, we grabbed the kids jackets out of the car and decided to push through it. We. We're. Freezing. We did not tell the waitress though, we have this unreasonable idea that if we complain about anything in any eating establishment, hair or spit will inevitably end up in our food. So we said nothing. Onto the food: The miso was good, tuna tower was mostly kani salad and rice and dumplings were pooled in water and inside had ZERO flavor. The margarita roll was half the size. My husband has ordered this roll every visit and it was super tiny compared to what's been served in the past. I ordered a cucumber-wrapped roll and the skin was left on. Not a big deal but it wasn't in the past and I'd prefer a roll without it. We have family coming to town and we were taking up this place as they are huge sushi lovers. Talk about a hidden gem in Shreveport. The West side of Shreveport is known for many things however great restaurants is usually not one of them. Kumo offers a friendly and clean atmosphere in a renovated Pizza Hut building. Serving smiles and sushi, which is a great combo in my humble opinion. I realize that most places are charging more and delivering less. But Kumo is the worst. And I hate to write this review, as we have been coming here for years. I guess I'm just tired of always feeling "ripped off". Don't even think about ordering sushi or sashimi. You will be insanely disappointed at how small the fish will be. It's even worse in the rolls. I found this little place today. I parked in the lot and they weren't busy at 2:30pm. Looked across the street and sam's seafood was quite busy, so I went there and got fish, but had to go back to kumo sushi and at least try some sushi. I tell you what, I cannot believe that place wasn't packed! Inside is too cute, the hostess was absolutely amazing, n my rolls were made fresh! My hubby absolutely loved the spicy tuna roll. I spent less money at kumo than I did at sam's n kumo food was way better. I truly think they're less busy because they are pretty new. If you're in the area, you should give it a try read more

Beyond my expectations! Shreveport + SUSHI doesn't sound good but this place does it right. The sushi chef and what I believe must be his wife are Japanese and all the food we ordered was high quality. The fish was very fresh, not fishy like any of the other Sushi places in Bossier and Shreveport. The price is a little higher but I do not mind since you know you're paying for quality food and service. I highly recommend Kumo Sushi. read more

Our hostess was super friendly and seated us right away, our waitress was attentive and fast, and the food was great. I accidentally ordered a fried roll, but despite ordering something I didn't like, it was very good. I'm not considering my order here since that was my bad. We ordered the spicy Ramen and it was horrible. It's instant noodle, the Korean ones, not even Japanese ramen. The taste was super light and the ramen costs 11 bucks even though the instant noodles they used were less than 2. Had the "lunch bento" and it was so bad we couldn't and wouldn't eat it. Chicken was so dry it was almost like jerky. Salmon was also dry, meat was white instead of pinkish and wasn't flaky like most salmon. Both meats tasted like they had been cooked the day or so before and re-heated when we ordered. Fried rice was dry, but could add enough soy sauce and miso soup to make it edible. Egg rolls also tasted recooked and overcooked. Two lunches, two egg rolls and one soft drink were $43.00.
