The cabinet company only had 3/4" finished panels for shelves. I took the wooden shelves to Laurel Glass and had them cut 2, 1/4" glass shelves to replace the OEM shelves. The glass shelves fit perfectly and the cabinet looks better than they did in the showroom. Laurel Glass is my "go to" company for anything glass related. I have previously had them install a beautiful frameless shower door and replace cloudy insulated glass windows in my bow window. Everything was done quickly and to the highest quality, at a reasonable price.

I purchased 10 replacement windows from Top Notch Glass. While they installed one of the…read moredouble-hung windows, a pane was broken. They came back later and installed the repaired window. The problem is that this window will not stay open. Either the tension-based balances need adjusting, or the balances are broken, and the internal springs may need to be replaced. On April 11th, I contacted Jack, the installer, and he said he would get back to me with a date to come by and take a look at it. By April 22, I had not heard back, so I contacted him again. Finally got a new appointment for May 7th. Again, Jack canceled, saying he was in Annapolis, and he rescheduled for May 9th. Again, Jack did not show up. Further attempts to contact him at his phone number were unsuccessful, so I emailed Top Notch Glass directly on May 20th. Jack did email back with the following response, "I was trying to get information on your style window balances to see if it was something I could do for you. At this point, the only thing I could suggest is to get a trim carpenter to pull the sides of the window framing apart to try and repair the balances. Please let me know if you need me after the trim guy opens them up." To be clear, the window we replaced was working (opening and closing) fine. We replaced it because one of the seals had broken making the glass all cloudy. Top Notch replaced it with a window that would not stay open. Jack's response made no sense to us. The issue with the window not staying up is a problem with their window, not my window frame. Either way, at the very least, I would expect them to spend a few minutes to see which of these problems it is, before suggesting I spend money on a carpenter to do God knows what. In addition, why did he make appointments to come look at the window and then cancel if the problem was on my side? Why put us through all that inconvenience of waiting around for him to show up? Why not just say that at the very beginning? I told them this and got a bunch of non-sequiturs back that made no sense. It is clear from the many missed appointments that Jack was hoping I would give up. When I didn't, they tried to tell me it was my fault their window wouldn't stay up. BTW- When they reinstalled this window, I was out of town so I could not test it at the time of installation. My husband was on a business call. No mention was made of a problem with the window. They just left the problem to us to discover. Now, instead of having a window that opened and closed fine (but was cloudy in one of the 2 panes), we have a window that won't work at all.

They were scheduled to come out on the day I was moving in, but never showed up. When I called Charlie, he said they were still waiting on hinges to come in and they expected them in the next few days. Four days later I still hadn't heard from anyone and called back. This time I spoke with Chase who said Charlie always had the hinges but didn't have glass. He said that he would drive to the supplier and pick up the glass and install it that week. He was supposed to come back out today but, of course, I didn't hear from them. When I called to find out what was happening, I spoke to a nasty woman who said no one could talk to me because they were on a job and that my job had been scratched out of the scheduling book. She said Chase told her to tell me to deal with the distributor instead of them from now on. Seriously? You knew about this when? And didn't even bother to let me know. Aren't I paying you to deal with the distributor? If that weren't bad enough, they never even looked at the email I sent of the shelves I wanted (and therefore hadn't bought any). They told me to take care of it. I don't know which is worse... The horrible work ethic or the customer service. They really need the woman working the desk to do another job. It's partly my fault because I ignored the reviews about this place; I always prefer to shop local and since there was no other place available, I went with them. I went to the shop when I got off the phone to get my deposit back but wasn't expecting much. I think they knew they screwed up because they gave me a refund without any discussion. Of course when I got there Chase was in the back of the shop and refused to come out. He must have been on a really short job.

I had a damaged sunroof header panel on my Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan's panoramic roof. I stopped by CK's shop and Charlie came out to inspect the car and explained how it is installed and what was involved to remove the damaged panel (it had to be cut out) and install the replacement panel. He gave me an installation quote and scheduled me in for the following week. (In the median, I googled the actual removal and installation procedures from Mercedes-Benz and it was exactly what as he explained.) Brought my car into the following week and they removed the panel and installed the replacement. It ended-up taking them longer than they expected and they stayed late to finish it as promised, and they stood by their original installation quote. They even came to pick me at home to get a ride back up to their shop to get my car back. The installation was as perfect as the factory installed panel - I could not tell that it had ever been replaced and there is no wind noise or water leaks. I'm very pleased with their work.

I contacted A1 on December 2nd about a problem with my screen door. After returning from a business trip on December 16, I provided more details about the issue. They said someone would come to take measurements, but according to my front door camera, no one ever showed up. I was out of town for business again, but since my first experience was positive, I trusted things would go smoothly. That was a mistake. They did the exact opposite of what we agreed upon, despite confirming the details in writing. Nothing they promised was actually done. To make matters worse, they left my front porch a mess. I later had another handyman look at their work, and he told me I was overcharged, especially considering they just reused the original materials and merely painted over them. We'd had trouble getting a contractor for such a small job before, so I appreciated that. They were able to come for an estimate the day after I called, and scheduled installation very quickly after the glass arrived less than a week later.
