This company is great, we had someone removed from our home recently and needed to have the locks changed right away. I contacted GoKey and they sent Nick out very quickly to help us. We had several locks that needed to be changed and one lock that had a key stuck in it and needed to be removed so that it could be rekeyed. Fitting for my first review. I've locked my keys in my car twice in my life, the first time the company I called charged me over $200 more than what Matt charged for doing the exact same thing. They clearly took advantage of a situation where you can't really object because you need your keys. The second time, I did a little more research and found GoKey and Matt. Not only did he get to my place quickly, he gave updates on his ETA. His price was very fair and he got the job done, even though my lock was stubborn. I would absolutely recommend Matt and GoKey, good guy, efficient and most importantly doesn't take advantage of the vulnerable situation you're in. Yep, pulled the idiot move and locked myself out of the house. It was a Thursday at around 8pm. I got the phone number for GoKey Locksmiths from a different locksmith who couldn't make it to the LBC. Called Matt and he said he would be right over. He arrived as if he was waiting for my call. We got into the house with no damage to the existing door locks. I use Yelp all the time, but I rarely right reviews. I know it is a bad habit and I should contribute more often. This is the second review I have written; when I get blown away by good service I take the time to right a review, period. Matt at GoKey is as good as it gets. Support him. I don't know what else he does besides open locked house doors at 8pm on weeknights, but I am sure that whatever locksmith services you need he is the man to call. Thanks Matt. A big thanks to Matt and GoKey! My house keys somehow fell off my keychain, and I couldn't find them when retracing my steps. Matt came to the rescue. I called on a Saturday night and he said he could help me right away - I wasn't even ready as soon as he was! So we waited and he made copies of my husband's keys for me the very next morning. I was having the worst day possible and it ended with me getting myself locked out of my apartment. None of my roommates were in town and my landlord was no help at all. Came on here and called Matt and he was at my apartment in less than 15 minutes (since I live close by). He went through both my screen and main door locks and was done in about 10 minutes! Matt is awesome and is proof that genuinely good people still exist out there! He was quick to respond (available in 15mins) and worked with me on price because I am a student. I live in an old 1920's apartment building with very old locks and it was definitely tough to get into the lock, but matt worked incredibly hard to get the lock off. He replaced the lock completely and out of courtesy he even reworked the pins on my other lock so I could use the same key for both locks. AMAZINGGGG!! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. We were on our way out for a birthday dinner when we realized we left all of our keys inside our house. GoKey was the second place we called and Matt had us take a picture of our apt lock and he would give us a quote. Once the address was confirmed he came over in 10-15 mins and opened our door right away. BUTTTTTT not only did he open our door, our lock was upside down for some reason he fixed it really quick and put it right side up for free!!! best.locksmith.ever. just text/call matt right now because he is amazing. i lost my car keys - with my phone locked in my car. matt responded right away & his quote was straightforward and reasonable - $60 (compared to another locksmith who said, "$50 just to come & then anywhere between $20-200, depending on what we need to do"). he was at my house within 20 minutes, got into my car within 5 minutes, and charged what he said he was going to. he even smiled, which is pretty rare among the tow-truck set... so, i had my phone, but no keys. and it's super expensive to re-key with a transponder, so he advised me to get the blank from the dealer & have him cut it, saving me about $300. he even called the dealer to get the blank! we thought it would only take a day to get the key, so we locked my car after i got my phone out. when matt found out it would take about a week to get the blank, he came and re-opened my car - at no charge - so i could get some other things out. no charge. it gets better... a week later, i found my keys. but my battery was dead! (you can't make this stuff up). i called for a jump quote & heard the same "$50 to come & 60-150, depending on what we need to do". i figured i would rather give the money to matt, so asked if i could pay him to come jump my car. and you want to know what he said?! "that wouldn't be very nice of me - i'll just come do it for free." free. because he's a nice guy. i was honestly reluctant to include all the details in this review because i don't want everyone to think he'll do everything for so little money, and i want matt to become the world's richest locksmith because he's just that awesome. but there's no better way to explain how he runs his business than to tell you the whole story. conventional business wisdom is that you can't get fast, cheap AND good. 2 out of 3 is usually the best you can hope for. Matt was great! He came out on time and re-keyed the entire house. He took the time time to make sure every lock worked better than before he got there, including a deadbolt that was installed incorrectly by the previous owners. The deadbolt wasn't anywhere close to lining up with the jamb and Matt and his apprentice took the time to fix the jamb opening and get the deadbolt to actually lock.
