    Tonkatsu Ramen Spicy

I'm giving this a 5 star for now because it is new. And an ok option that is better than driving to Huntsville. I prefer Kamado still but have to drive or wait til I am in the area. Kamado the Tonkatsu broth was more favorable and had the options of a better noodle. But the convenience of something local that is not a burger or Mexican is nice to have. The options of what to add in is broken down and price increases as you add to it. Service was ok. I'm sure it will improve as time goes on. With it being Hazel Green. I would suggest adding pictures of items to menus for food that is not a burger or Mexican. Local that don't try new things often. Won't return if they don't know what they are getting. The restaurant was very nice inside. Give it 3 months and I will review again.

Came down here to visit the tulip fields and looked for something for dinner. Found Gokumi on yelp... My go to ... Glad we came! The service was friendly... the food was delish ... The only down side was the wait for the food but that's because it was dinner time and they were packed! When we visit this area again we will be back!

The food was ok my salmon was a little overcooked. The service was not great because they had CHILDREN taking orders and serving food.

The entire family was able to find something they liked. It was busy, but everything went smoothly and everyone was happy. We will be back.

Service was attentive and our gyoza came out last instead of first but for being first week I have no complaints and I will gladly be back!

Stopped in with the family after church, made a drive out to Madison because the wife wanted Ramen…read moreand we'd never been here. Kind of a hole in the wall place - seating is limited, one comfy four top and then a lot of stuff mostly designed for 1-2 people. The booths can hold 4 people, but it will be a tight 4. They will hand you a menu when you come in, but you will order at the counter when you are ready. Water and unsweet tea were self serve and free, they had canned Coke products (no Coke Zero) -- all the dishes were served in togo/disposable containers. Employees were extremely friendly. We ordered a variety of dishes to sample everything; shrimp katsu plate, chicken gyoza, chicken katsu, beef curry rice and tonkotsu Ramen. Prices are reasonable for Huntville - Curry or Ramen dishes are $15, Katsu plates $12, and Kids (Keiki) are $8. Portions were good and food came out quickly. Wife is half Asian and said all the food was food for the most part. She enjoyed her Ramen and my Curry. I was not a fan of the gyoza (might have been it being chicken and not pork) and felt the sear was light. Vegetables in my curry were huge, but that's a nitpick. Both my kids ate their ketsu and rice without complaint; chicken ketsu I stole was moist. Definitely give it a shot!

The food and service were very good genuinely nice people. The thing that really caught my…read moreattention was the cleanliness this is one of the if. Or the cleanest restaurants I have ever been in.

I'm always in the mood for noodles. Ichiddo Ramen has been on my list for a while. I finally came…read morein with my husband and we were seated right away. We ordered the takoyaki, fried chicken bun, char siu ramen, and Hakata-style Niku Soba Ramen. The food came out quickly. The takoyaki was pretty good based on area standards (my Japanese husband and I are tough critics), and fried chicken bun was soft and crunchy which I appreciated. I would have loved to add a pickle or hot sauce. The ramen was great with smoked pork flavor but we felt the broth was a bit sweet, especially for the Hakata ramen. This version has straight noodles instead of wavy ones, which my husband prefers but I do not. Overall, we would come back to try non-traditional options like the fried chicken or seafood ramens and the crab jalepeño poppers!

Solid 3.5, but rounding up as we are conflicted, but hopeful. We really enjoyed the sides we split…read more- the jalapeño cream cheese crab poppers were delicious, and the chicken kara-age was a very generous portion and well done. The ramen itself had good-quality ingredients and noodles, and the pork was lean and nicely cooked. However, the biggest letdown was the broth. We ordered the Char Siu Ramen, assuming their most popular option would shine, but the broth was surprisingly bland - almost like lightly flavored chicken water. We asked for added spice/flavor, which helped somewhat, but it still didn't fully come together. That said, the staff was incredibly attentive and kind, which made the experience better overall. There are so many ramen options on the menu that we plan to return and try a different bowl and update our review.

The exterior alone is adorable! A traditional Japanese building with little figurines and even a large Totoro in the garden. It felt whimsical and nostalgic. I was seated right away and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, checking in without being intrusive. The owner even stopped by each table to make sure everything was perfect but didn't linger too long. I started with the takoyaki, and it was one of the best I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and the octopus was tender. The sauce and bonito flakes were just the right amount. For my entree, I ordered the curry chicken katsu lunch special, which comes with a soup or salad. I chose the miso soup since it was cold out and it was absolutely the right choice. The katsu was perfectly crispy and paired beautifully with the rich Japanese curry. I especially loved the big pieces of mushrooms and onions in the curry. Before heading out, I ordered a lychee green tea with boba and lychee jelly to go. The boba was perfect and didn't get tough sitting in the cold drink like some places. 10/10 would go back and would recommend to anyone who is looking for an authentic and fun Japanese restaurant.

I know I was going out to dinner with my husband after work so I didn't want a full meal. Plus, when trying somewhere new l like to test the waters. Boy, was I glad I did. I ordered miso soup and ginger dressing salad. The total bill was less than $8. It was ready and waiting for me as soon as I arrived. When I returned to work and opened my take out bag. Holy Moley! This salad is huge... and fresh! The iceberg lettuce was crunchy, and dressing delicious. The soup was also delicious, hot and generously poured. I highly recommend and I will be back!
