    1. Japanese Curry Chicken

I'm in town for work and love trying new restaurants. I saw good reviews for this restaurant and that it was Studio Ghibli inspired and knew I had to try it out. The exterior alone is adorable! A traditional Japanese building with little figurines and even a large Totoro in the garden. It felt whimsical and nostalgic. I was seated right away and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, checking in without being intrusive. The owner even stopped by each table to make sure everything was perfect but didn't linger too long. I started with the takoyaki, and it was one of the best I've ever had. Crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside, and the octopus was tender. The sauce and bonito flakes were just the right amount. For my entree, I ordered the curry chicken katsu lunch special, which comes with a soup or salad. I chose the miso soup since it was cold out and it was absolutely the right choice. The katsu was perfectly crispy and paired beautifully with the rich Japanese curry. I especially loved the big pieces of mushrooms and onions in the curry. Before heading out, I ordered a lychee green tea with boba and lychee jelly to go. The boba was perfect and didn't get tough sitting in the cold drink like some places. 10/10 would go back and would recommend to anyone who is looking for an authentic and fun Japanese restaurant.

I did a pick up order for lunch today. I have never been here, but searched on restaurants near Walmart and "poof" there it was. I know I was going out to dinner with my husband after work so I didn't want a full meal. Plus, when trying somewhere new l like to test the waters. Boy, was I glad I did. I ordered miso soup and ginger dressing salad. The total bill was less than $8. It was ready and waiting for me as soon as I arrived. When I returned to work and opened my take out bag. Holy Moley! This salad is huge... and fresh! The iceberg lettuce was crunchy, and dressing delicious. The soup was also delicious, hot and generously poured. I highly recommend and I will be back!

I was here on a business trip and it was a rainy, cold night. I wanted a warm bowl of ramen after a long day of traveling, and Miso Happy did not disappoint! Upon driving up to the restaurant, it looked like one of those traditional Japanese tea houses. It had Totoro outside with an umbrella, which fit the rainy day that was happening. Inside has a Studio Ghibli theme. Gentle piano music from the movies play in the background, and it has a homey, comforting feel to it. The server was so kind in helping me decide what to get because I haven't been in the area before. Looking at the prices, it was extremely reasonable, especially with the quality of food I got in return. After much consideration and asking for suggestions, I ended up getting the grape green tea, their black tonkotsu ramen, and their strawberry crepe cake. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The noodles were the perfect amount of richness and flavor. The noodles were bouncy, chewy, and the perfect compliment to the pork bone soup, which was salty and smooth. The green grape green tea was floral and a refreshing contrast to the hot soup and noodles. The strawberry crepe was a great finale to an already great meal! It had layers of rich creme in between each thin crepe layer. It created a symphony for the mouth as the texture and flavor was out of this world. My expectations were blown out of the water for sure. If I lived nearby, I would be a frequent visitor to this incredible establishment. They have earned their 5/5 star review.

First impressions: The outside area is so cute with the lights and pond. There's a large sushi bar and friendly faces to greet you as you walk in. There's traditional Japanese style seating (very neat experience) with mats on the floor. Our server was very attentive and quick. He noticed me taking pictures of the food and asked to take my phone to take a group photo. We ordered several sushi rolls, comes with soup or salad. Ordered dumplings very good. Ordered Tin... see the picture. It's a chef special, egg cake type dish with crab, onion, egg, a special sauce. Looked great! Ordered the Golden Dragon sushi roll and the Tuna Lovers. Fresh and made to order - I'd be excited to try other rolls as I thought the mango & mango sauce on the dragon roll kind of made it too sweet and mushy. So so far not my favorite sushi in HSV. BUT I'd love to give it another chance with something else off of the menu. Their menu is extensive - hibachi, sushi, noodle dishes, diverse apps, speciality teas, cocktails & so much more! Can't wait to come back and experience more of this great addition to HSV

Really nice place for Asian food. Broad menu covering items from many Asian countries. Great food with wonderful attentive service. The flavor was really good, but they have soy and other sauces available if you prefer a different taste profile. Nice seating with a sushi bar where you can watch your sushi be prepared. I was truly impressed I'll definitely be a regular.

    Beef curry lunch bento

The food was delicious. Service was amazing and it looks really nice. I ordered the beef curry lunch bento. The miso soup was probably one of the best I have ever had. And the curry was very rich and the beef had amazing texture. The dumplings where so soft with a crisp where if felt like it melted in your mouth and you could really taste the vegetables in it which was great. The crab rangoons were soft and so flavorful and delicious. Overall highly recommend. Also everyone was so polite and kind. The food came out quite as well.

Visiting family and they were excited to take us here, we were not disappointed. The ambiance of the place is fun anime culture even with a robot that delivers the food. The staff were very friendly and the prices were very affordable for a large party with plenty of food (we had leftovers). The rolls were good with fresh ingredients. The sushi rice was very good, enough that we noticed it. The teriyaki was not very sweet and had a nice umami. The bento boxes had a nice assortment of items and included a miso soup or salad, as did the other lunch specials. Everything was fresh, balanced, not too salty or sweet. Everyone enjoyed their meals and for the family we were visiting Miso Happy is a regular place they visit. We recommend it for anyone looking for a fun place, with good food, at affordable prices.

Godzilla roll, eel sushi, yellowtail jalapeño app & ginger salads Really enjoyed this place for lunch. Good service & good sushi!

We had the sushi and it was good. The yellowtail jalapeño appetizer is delicious with mangos on the side, Godzilla roll was amazing & can't go wrong with eel sushi & ginger salads. Love the front entrance with the koi pond! You should try this place!

The service here is impeccable! Every single time we grab food from this restaurant, the workers are sooo kind! It feels so homey being that they're so sweet. They're so generous with their food! I was going here often when I was trying to build my milk supply to breastfeed. Their soups were really good & I always asked for extra egg and extra pork. It's fairly quiet & there's a decent size area to dine in but I wouldn't necessarily recommend for extremely big parties.

    Takoyaki & chicken katsu curry
    Junior L.

As an asian man from california who eats asian foods daily i will say from the asian perspective its kind of mid takoyaki didnt really have much flavor in my opinion, i mean the miso soup had more flavor lol. Moving on to the chicken katsu curry the curry itself was surprisingly good i do wish the onion were cooked a bit more but im not stranger to onions on the raw side i honestly wish there was more onions LOL. The rice was great pretty sticky had 0 problems eating it with chopsticks so thats a big plus. Lastly the chicken katsu itself prior to throwing curry all over the chicken i gave the katsu a taste test i will say flavor was there but the crunch was not def did not feel like there was enough panko on the chicken so i was slightly disappointed. Overall service was pretty good waiter was on top of it & tables were bussed pretty quick when someone left as far as the meal itself it will only get 3 big booms unfortunately. I enjoyed the minecraft playlist they had playing!

Great Lunch Spot. Clean and genuine folks. Dish tasted fresh and, at time of posting, a 98 health rating.

I wanted to try this since it just opened. First impression - it's cute... but that's about it. As my friend was funny enough to point out we left miso happy as miso sad. We were seated and it took a while for anyone to come and take even a drink order. They had lunch specials so we thought that was a good choice. I went for the bento box. This was a bad choice. First of all the menu says add 2 sides for $3. But somehow a lunch special with a drink ended up being $29. NOPE. The food had several problems. The meat was overcooked and bland. The restaurant smelled very "fishy". The sushi didn't taste fresh, so I guess that's why it smelled like old fish. The salad was only lettuce with some dressing. Skip their fried rice. I was annoyed it had eggs in it. But also the fried rice didn't have anything else in it and lacked flavor. I wanted to try the Thai tea, and that was bad too. It's powder. Not real Thai tea. They use crystal boba, not the normal brown tapioca. Will I be back? No. Probably not.

Kind of a hole in the wall place - seating is limited, one comfy four top and then a lot of stuff mostly designed for 1-2 people. The booths can hold 4 people, but it will be a tight 4. They will hand you a menu when you come in, but you will order at the counter when you are ready. Water and unsweet tea were self serve and free, they had canned Coke products (no Coke Zero) -- all the dishes were served in togo/disposable containers. Employees were extremely friendly. We ordered a variety of dishes to sample everything; shrimp katsu plate, chicken gyoza, chicken katsu, beef curry rice and tonkotsu Ramen. Prices are reasonable for Huntville - Curry or Ramen dishes are $15, Katsu plates $12, and Kids (Keiki) are $8. Portions were good and food came out quickly. Wife is half Asian and said all the food was food for the most part. She enjoyed her Ramen and my Curry. I was not a fan of the gyoza (might have been it being chicken and not pork) and felt the sear was light. Vegetables in my curry were huge, but that's a nitpick. Both my kids ate their ketsu and rice without complaint; chicken ketsu I stole was moist. Definitely give it a shot!

The food was very good. I didn't even order the broth udon soup thing that my husband got, but the FLAVOR in that broth was incredible. I liked it more than the curry rice, but that's probably just because of the flavor I was wanting that day. We both got chicken katsu. Super yummy. Spring rolls were fab. It worked out because he ate my rice leftovers. Will totally go back!
