: Poor Representation and Miscommunication at Big State Pawn…read more I recently visited Big State Pawn and experienced what I would consider a disappointing display of customer service and communication. I had placed a game console on layaway that was advertised and sold as a combo including four games -- the combo was the very reason I chose to purchase it. Two weeks later, when I picked it up, I noticed that one of the games was missing from the box. When I brought this to the attention of an employee, a african american female with braids whom I was not speaking with or too responded in a condescending and dismissive tone, saying, " you know the games aren't actually a combo right? We gave them to you for free...like they just come free with the console." with a smug look on her face... That response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and frankly made no logical sense. The product was marketed and displayed as a four-game combo, and any reasonable customer would expect to receive exactly what was advertised. Thankfully, another associate who demonstrated professionalism and respect simply asked that I bring in the console so we could check. I did, and we discovered that the missing game was inside it and if it was not, she would give me another game.. That simple, respectful approach was all that was needed from the beginning. This situation was never about the game itself; it was about how it was handled. We customer decide to spend their money, they deserve to be treated with courtesy and understanding, not condescension. The tone, professionalism, and attitude displayed by that one staff member reflect directly on the company as a whole. Big State Pawn, please take this as an opportunity to remind your team that customer service is not just about making a sale...it's about maintaining trust, respect, and integrity with every interaction. I decided to stop by here since it was almost 9pm and this was the closet pawn shop near me. However, wanted to pawn my 2 year HP pavilion laptop and brand new camouflage ps4 controller for 50, yet they only wanted 10 because of a scratch on my laptop. The guy said he was not going to waste his time turning on my laptop. so they pretty much belittled me and told me to stay dry on th way out since it was raining. I immediately went to north Arlington pawn since I've been there before and they'd treated me like human being. Inconveniently, I had to drive 8 miles to get there, but I barely made it by 9pm there. To sum it up, north Arlington pawn gave me what I was looking for even though I had to drive dither than expected, and they treated me with respect.. What I don't understand about mid cities is that this is a place of business. Yet, you turn away customers by providing poor customer service. On top of that, there is nothing out on display.

Then in the middle of the deal he changes up and says not for sale the item is listed to low. It's been on the shelf for 2 years and he told me no one's looked at it and it's been marked down to move it. How are you going to list some thing for sale and then jack up the price when the first person shows up to look at it. Completely unprofessional and terrible business practices. I will be advising anyone i meet to steer clear of the cheats.
