ETE hired the company that would deliver our equipment. We scheduled a noon-2:00 delivery, confirmed it with the delivery company the day before, and took time off work to be home. The morning of delivery, the driver called and asked if we had a forklift. No, we do not own a forklift. He said he would "figure it out." Our delivery window came and went. No delivery. No phone call. Nothing. We finally called after 3:00 and were told the driver had NEVER TAKEN OUR EQUIPMENT FROM THE DEPOT. After working with ETE, delivery was rescheduled for the following day. We rearranged our schedules AGAIN to be home. The next day, they AGAIN failed to load our equipment for delivery. ETE eventually arranged what they called a "rescue delivery." When it finally arrived, they could not get the crated equipment off the truck. Thankfully, we had friends at our home who had planned to help us assemble the equipment. Instead, we spent approximately an hour in the Florida heat and humidity helping unload our own equipment from the delivery truck. So we paid ETE nearly $500 for delivery, took time off work for a confirmed delivery that never left the depot, rearranged our schedules a second day only to have it happen again, and then ultimately provided the labor to help unload our own $500 delivery. Things go wrong. I understand that. What has earned ETE this review is how they responded afterward. ETE's position is essentially that these problems were the fault of the shipping company and that ETE is "at the mercy" of that company and in the same boat as we are. No, we are not in the same boat. I did not select the shipping company. I did not hire the shipping company. I did not pay the shipping company. I paid ETE approximately $500 for delivery. The shipping company is ETE's vendor, not mine. Even more concerning, during this ordeal I was told that delivery is "always a hassle" and that the company being used did not have the necessary lift equipment to properly unload this equipment. That certainly made this experience feel less like an unforeseeable problem. We did not ask ETE to reimburse some or all of our cost for shipping to help offset wages lost. We simply asked them to acknowledge what happened and provide some reasonable customer-care compensation for a delivery service that clearly did not go as promised. They refused. That is the most disappointing part of this entire experience. I can understand a bad delivery. I have a much harder time understanding a company accepting nearly $500 from a customer for delivery and then taking the position that it bears no responsibility for the customer experience because the company it chose to perform the service failed. ETE may not have been driving the truck, but ETE sold us the delivery. Customer service is not demonstrated when everything goes perfectly. It is demonstrated by what a company does when something goes wrong. In our experience, ETE had an opportunity to acknowledge a significant failure and make a reasonable gesture to a customer. They chose not to.

What a truly fantastic experience from start to finish. From the initial phone call, to visiting…read morethe store, to delivery was a level of customer service rare these days. My wife wanted a recumbent bike and I wanted an elliptical machine. After doing a lot of research I was going to order online but didn't like the idea of such a big purchase without trying it out. All the stores that used to sell equipment were gone. After some google searching I found RX Fitness. They carry higher end brands but still found some in my budget. Plus their delivery fee includes assembly and was 1/3rd the cost of the websites I was looking at. I called and spoke to Charles who confirmed he had the models we wanted you to try. We went after work since they were having a Labor Day sale. He was extremely knowledgeable and went over the products, explained the differences, and had us try everything. Zero pressure sales, just friendly knowledge. After an hour and a lot of sweat we picked the equipment. A Spirit Fitness XBR95 Recumbent Bike and a Vectra 220 Elliptical. I was originally going to get the Spirit elliptical but I really like the feeling of the Vectra better. We purchased on Tuesday and it was delivered Friday. They don't just order from the manufacturer they have their own warehouse inventory and use a dedicated delivery and assembly team. The delivery crew was equally awesome. While building the equipment they talked about workout tips, showed all the features of the equipment, and went over preventative maintenance tips. I totally love our purchases and even on the lowest setting the elliptical is kicking my butt so I look forward to improving my endurance! If you're looking for fitness equipment look no further. They've got several locations. Newport Beach, Anaheim Hills, and Thousand Oaks. They have cardio and weight lifting equipment.
