I contacted Gold Coast because my 16 yr old oven ceased functioning. They had someone out first thing the next morning. He diagnosed the problem, said he would have to order the part, and informed me what the repair would cost. I paid for the repair and was contacted a couple days later when the part arrived. The technician installed the part, but unfortunately, that did not fix the issue. A new diagnostic revealed it was a different part and the manufacturer said they no longer make or supply it, so I would need to purchase a new oven. I was not upset about any of this, just a but bummed that I had spent several hundred dollars for a repair that didn't help. To my surprise, Gold Coast informed me they would be refunding all charges above the standard diagnostic fee, including what I paid for the part. The refund arrived a couple days later. I was highly impressed that they were willing to eat the cost of a part in order to maintain good customer relations. I was skeptical of initially contacting them because their website makes it seem as if they work on nothing but refrigeration, freezer, and ice machines. I am so happy to find out they work on all major appliances and I will definitely be calling them for any future needs. read more

I like to try different local businesses to find a good business that I can utilize and compare with the ones I had gone with previously. I also like to review the various businesses for Yelp as I take being an Elite Yelper as an honor and responsibility to find great businesses and support them and also for Yelpers to know which places are trustworthy! I wanted to try this particular ones because of the many great reviews. Yes, I am a true YELPER and I review every single review! I liked that he was a teacher and engineer - someone like the rest of us and should be detailed and meticulous as an engineer. I picked the right guy! He was booked out because he is so popular, but I was willing to wait and see. I had two appliances to fix ( why does everything break down at once?!) ! He ordered my parts to have it ready. It was two weeks later and he showed up so he is very responsible which I like. He keeps you informed along the way and during the repair process. He explains everything very well so you would understand- the perfect teacher! He is quick to respond even after the repair and is gracious with his answers. He wears a mask due to Covid, social distances,willing to take off shoes in the house, very organized and very neat! He tries to work with the individual and your situation and accommodates. He uses the best parts so you won't have issues of breakdown and he is transparent. I like how he double and triple checks the appliances ( shows responsibility and perfectionist tendencies which are great in business) are working every step of the way where many others just fix it and they don't check if it really is running well afterwards or just do a quick check because they have to run to the next appointment. Integrity and being on time, responsible and not trying to gouge the consumer are the most important to me and the hallmarks I look for in businesses. This company hits all of these and then some! Jason is amazing! We have newer kitchen appliances that needed some attention. New appliances are very technology-dependent and require a knowledgeable professional. 1. Oven range display light flickering 2. Fridge water filter system was broken and prevented ice to be made. 3. Strange knocking in dishwasher On the first visit, Jason was able to fix the dishwasher... something to do with the water not draining properly. BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, Jason pointed out the contractor who did our kitchen remodel, did not properly ground the dishwasher. Jason spent more time fixing that than the original issue that I called him for. On the second visit, Jason repaired the display board on the oven range and the water filtration unit for the fridge. In addition to the services, Jason also ordered Samsung specific water filters. I have not needed to call Jason back for anything (yet) and that's a good thing! Lastly, he's also local. They are who you want to call when your more than 20-year-old, 36" wide, over-the-range microwave stops working properly (and 36" wide microwave ovens are no longer available for sale). We decided to keep this microwave oven going because the alternative (buying a 30" microwave oven) was to live with something that just would not ever look right (or re-do the kitchen!). This team: Jason, Aaron and Celeste, are simply the best! Everything from analyzing the problem, sourcing the now "vintage" parts, pulling down the very heavy microwave oven, and the complicated job of taking it apart and installing the new parts for a microwave, and of course re-installing the very heavy oven, which is considered obsolete and not built any longer. Aaron did such a great job. They are such nice people too. Celeste even had her husband come by to help Aaron re-install the very heavy oven. Super nice people. I can't say enough about them, how steadfast they all were about getting this done and done right. Jason, Celeste and their team are an fantastic group to work with! I've called them on a couple appliance (a dryer and a refrigerator repair) Dryer: Jacob came in and work quickly and efficiently. He was able to fix the problem and now the dryer works just like new! Refrigerator: we had problem on problem that kept occurring with our refrigerator (first the ice machine, then the cooling mechanism). Jason and the team came out on numerous occasions and helped us try to fix the problems that kept layering and finding potential diagnoses. Inevitably, we replaced the fridge but Jason was so professional and he refunded us since they weren't able to fix the problem and only charged us the original diagnosis fee. Celeste is a scheduling guru and fantastic to work with and finds the best way to fit us into the schedules on such short notices. Overall the team is professional, thorough, and honest. I know now why Gold Coast Appliance Repair has all 5 stars--they are absolutely WONDERFUL!! I put in a claim with my home warranty because my LG fridge wasn't cooling. They referred me to Gold Coast Appliance and I was happy that they did. I spoke with Jason and he was very courteous and very knowledgeable about the possible issue with my fridge--the compressor!! Little did I know thousands of angry LG refrigerator owners across the country had the same issue and filed a class action suit against LG. Note to anyone looking for a fridge--avoid LG!!!!!! Anyways, Jason was correct with his diagnosis, the compressor was shot. I had to file a claim with LG for a new compressor. We had to rely on our trusty 30 year old fridge in the garage to help us through the wait, while our 4 year old fridge needed repairs. They don't make them like they used to!! Jason was very responsive to all my texts and calls. He was very thorough and very pleasant throughout this process. Of course, LG took their sweet time in mailing him the compressor, so after a two week wait--we finally got our compressor. Bless Jason's heart, he worked hard for a 1/2 day and got my compressor installed. He was very clean, organized and meticulous with his work. I called Gold Coast for help with my coin operated washer and drier. The company I normally use had closed, due to owner retiring. Celeste tried very hard to help me. After calling a company that works on these units, she realized they would be unable to service my machines. She still helped diagnose the problem and find the parts. This is as after she knew that they were not going to get paid. All the other companies I tried just said we don't work on commercial units. She was VERY helpful. I try to support small businesses before going to the big ones. I have used this company twice. First time excellent service and price. Everything was fixed and never went wrong again. It was the owner that serviced my location. Second time terrible. Washer got fixed but started leaking after being fixed. Never happened before. I didn't know until after the guy left and we used it. By the second wash it was leaking from the front. Called they came back out and something else was wrong that the guy said from him fixing the other problem and if was going to cost me another 200-300 to fix. Yeah no sir! I never had this issue until you came. Sorry. Loved working with the owner but not the other guy on my case. I feel like this should have been fixed free of charge or Atleast half off.
