Despite this, they withheld most my security deposit and tried to charge me for furniture that was never even provided in the unit. This wasn't an isolated incident of poor service -- I had requested replacement curtains after mine fell apart, and it took the agency over a year to follow through. Communication was consistently unresponsive and unprofessional throughout my tenancy. What makes this worse is that I now own a rental property myself. Having seen how this company treats tenants, I would never use them -- not as a renter, and not as an owner looking for a property management company. They seem far more interested in squeezing every dollar from deposits than treating good tenants fairly. If you're considering renting from this agency, think twice. And if you're a property owner considering hiring them to manage your property, look elsewhere.

They have many properties to choose from and some are just spectacular in person. And the price point is very reasonable dependent on market conditions. We were in Honolulu for the JAL Honolulu Marathon and needed accommodations after the race. Using booking.com, I came upon a listing for a penthouse 1 bedroom/1 bath unit with pictures showing a gorgeous view of Diamond Head. The price was very reasonable and quickly booked the listing. Midway Vacations provides great descriptions and pictures of the units available. When we entered...our breaths were taken away!!! A little aloha was also extended with chocolate macadamia nut candies and water to welcome us. The room was clean and comfortable. Well detailed information was also provided. Communication before/during/after was excellent via email and text. The pictures will show what we experienced during our stay. Midway Vacations is a well tuned fine instrument.

No electricity, no hot water, no elevators. They then refused a full refund, withholding $628.25 for "cleaning and insurance" for a stay that was impossible from the start. Completely dishonest and unprofessional. Avoid at all costs. Dear Midway Vacations Team, Thank you for your response. However, I find your explanations unacceptable and will be pursuing this matter to the fullest extent possible. Your claim that you acted based on the "best available information" is contradicted by the facts. You admitted to being aware of the outage on March 13th, yet you allowed me to check in without any prior warning. This is not a matter of "unforeseen circumstances," but a deliberate failure to disclose critical information about the property's inhabitability. Whether the outage was caused by weather or building management is irrelevant to your contractual obligation to provide a unit with basic utilities. A rental without electricity, hot water, or elevator service does not meet the legal definition of a habitable dwelling, and I should not be charged for a service that was not rendered. I also reject your justification for withholding $628.25 for cleaning fees, insurance, and taxes. It is predatory to charge these fees for a stay that was made impossible by your own lack of transparency

The employees of the company run the business all week long which was great for a customer like me as I work for the military long hours during the week and sometimes even on the weekends. Contact with Mr. Kenji Iwasa (Who is the landlord and agent of most units that Map Vision holds) is extremely poor, his customer services is extremely poor and his communication skills are upmost rude. The only reason why I gave more than 1 star was because of the other diligent workers at the company. When I was discussing about my unit's poor condition with him one day, he got upset and furiously hung up the phone on me without even giving me time to explain that I needed help from his as a tenant/landlord relationship. The unit he rented to me came many broken furnitures such as broken shower heads, broken toilet lights, towel hangers, sink faucet, kitchen cabinets were broken and most of all the unit was extremely and I mean extremely cockroach infested. All he said was "sorry I can't fix it for you" or put me off for weeks before he hired a contractor to fix things for me. Things got gradually worse the longer I stayed there. Make sure you read the contract THOROUGHLY and I mean extremely thoroughly before you sign the contracts at this company as they add in a lot of sub paragraphs to the contract that can be extremely disadvantageous to you as a potential tenant and even your pocket. 30% of my deposit was taken away for carpet cleaning and unit room cleaning. Which honestly was fair as it was stated in the contract. But I specifically told the landlords that I cleaned the unit myself with an industrial grade carpet cleaning machine as well as the unit itself in which I spent the remaining week there cleaning it from head to toe. This is the part where they will get extremely cheap on you by pinning you with cleaning bills. What's even more outrageous is the receipt they gave me for the unit cleaning was extremely shady, there was no company name nor the hours spent cleaning nor any description whatsoever. All it said was a flat fee of XXX dollars for my unit. BE AWARE. This company will sneak ways into your pocket. They will give you the BARE minimum customer service once you sign your bank away on their contract.
