Had a burnt clutch on my Mustang, told them I wanted a Mcleod Clutch and they told me to order it. I did, dropped it off and they said they would take care of it. Got my car back and it ran like crap. Felt like a cable was slapping around, back up lights did not work (They did prior) and the clutch chattered a lot. They told me to let the clutch slip and it would wear down. Brought it to Bob's Automotive in Sunrise. They told me the transmission mount was ruptured, the transmission was only held in with three bolts, the throw out bearing was never changed and my clutch cable was extremely loose. The pressure plate was warped and the back up switch was damaged. Had to re-pay to have the transmission done again. Car runs great now. I also paid less for a new clutch and labor then Gold Coast charged me for just labor...so not a good experience. read more

Brought my 2003 Toyota Camry in for transmission service back in 2018. Hamilton serviced the car and everything works great. Today (3 1/2 years later, 2021) I noticed a slight surging in the car first thing in the morning, so I called to see if he could look at it. Sure enough he says bring it down. I arrive an hour later and he stops what he's doing in the shop and we take the car for a test ride, of course everything is fine now. But when we return to the shop he opens the hood and checks the fluid. Surprisingly it takes 3 quarts of transmission fluid to top it off. I ask "what do I owe you?" and he says it's on him. He says check it again in a day and if it's not full bring it back and he'll take care of it. This was a pleasant unexpected experience as today most mechanics seem to tag on any charge they can. I would expect to pay for the fluids but he declined. Definetly would recommend Gold Coast in Davie to anyone needing transmission service on their auto. I brought my car in because I thought I heard a weird noise coming from a bearing in my transmission. Any business could've easily made upwards of 1000 dollars from my claim, but Hamilton worked diligently for 2 days to find anything wrong with my car, and noted that my car was in excellent shape. The service is friendly, you feel at home, and most importantly, you don't feel deceived. I just moved back to south Florida from Tampa. I was in the process of having my engine rebuilt on my 1980 Jeep CJ 7. I also had a new after market clutch master and slave cylinder installed. When the Jeep was "apparently" finished in Tampa I had it shipped to me here. When I got in the gears were grinding and the clutch pedal would only push in 1/2 way. I immediately drove it to Gold Coast because I remember their location from when I lived close by several years ago. Best decision I ever made. Hamilton and his shop guy (I'm sorry but I forget his name) pulled the clutch and transmission and immediately diagnosed this thing properly. I'm not going to go into what they found but they 100% diagnosed it properly. They also installed the highest quality parts and wouldn't settle for anything else. With that being said, several of the parts had to be ordered because of the age of the vehicle and took several days to come in. During these several days, they were very concerned with keeping my Jeep out of the weather as it had no top or doors. Rather than send me back home with the Jeep and tell me to bring it back when the parts are in, they kept it in one of their bays. Didn't even charge me storage fee. This also took up space which probably could have been used to repair other vehicles. The amount of time that Hamilton took to research this vehicle was unreal. Hamilton also called me numerous times to have me come back and see each issue that they encountered. Their honesty is untouched. Once the vehicle was finished, Hamilton took it for a road test and said everything was working perfectly. Although, I would have taken his word for it, he had me come back over and do a road test along with him and make sure I was satisfied before he would allow it to leave his shop. I couldn't have taken my Jeep to more honest and professional people. If you are looking to have any work done on your vehicle, do not look anywhere else. This place is top notch. I also needed exhaust work done and Hamilton referred me to a shop. That will be my next review. He didn't steer me wrong and even stopped by the muffler shop on his day off to make sure that I was taken care of. This was after a text to check up on how my Jeep was running. I could sit here and type for hours about this place. The experience was like no other that I have had at an auto repair shop. And with such an old vehicle there have been numerous experiences.
