This place is great! My son and I were in Sutter Creek for the night and we were told of this bowling alley. We went on a Thursday afternoon and we had a blast! Prices were very reasonable and we bowled three games each. They do $20 unlimited arcade on Thursdays. They have a great selection of games, including several fun pinball games! They have a full bar with great beers on tap. They do food as well, but we didn't eat. My son already asked to go back. read more

This bowling alley is the very worst bowling alley I have ever been too. The owner and the manager couldn't care less if the lanes work or the approaches are clean. They care that they suck the money out of your pocket. They are the only bowling alley in Amador County. The owner does not have the balls to talk to me because he is scum. Went day after Christmas with 4 adults and two toddlers. Place was VERY busy. Played mini golf while we waited for open lane. Good course except for the hill like collars around the holes. Very frustrating for adults as well as kids. We had NEVER seen these before and hope to never again. Kids love the large bounch house with the basket ball size rubber balls to play with. Lots of arcade games. The kids used automatic "bumpers" and the ball slide. Caught on quick. Modern scoring. Group next to use did not have any bowling etiquette. Very distracting. Had hot pretzel, fries and drinks. All goid. But only 2 small chicken strios in order. Didn't match the picture on the menu. Staff friendly. Bathrooms clean. Handicap accessible. Just had my granddaughters birthday party here and I must say I was impressed! The place had a lot for the kids to do. The party deal was good. The kids loved the laser tag! Pizza was not bad at all. I think overall they did a pretty good job. The only thing was there wasn't enough seats for everyone but given the space it was understandable. I will come back. read more

Went there last Sunday afternoon for my sons birthday. Facility is clean, plenty of seating at each lane, the kids loved the animated score screens. We ordered food from the bar & even played some laser tag before leaving. Good pricing, helpful staff, and overall a nice facility! The people working (esp. the guy at the check-in desk... he was amazing!) were very helpful. For as busy as they were, they definitely could've used extra hands on deck. We were introduced to this bowling alley by some friends. We've passed it several times and never thought to visit. We had the best time! It newly remodeled, they have food and drinks and music from the digital jukebox. We were there a Saturday evening and they started the glow bowl which was really fun. The food is pretty good considering its bowling alley food, what you would expect. The drinks were very good, greats margaritas. I love bowling here. Especially after 10pm because it's only $10. Everyone is really polite and nice however the newest bartender named Ashley is beyond rude. Anything I said to her or asked her, she responded with such a rude tone as if I was stupid for not knowing. She had a matter of fact and smart ass attitude. The people with me even noticed it too. Plenty of parking....went on a Saturday afternoon, busy but we were able to get a lane with no waiting. Under $50 for 3 people, 3 games each which I think 2 hours of family time is worth the price. Had our daughters Birthday there yesterday. Had booked her party for noon, they called back and said they already had a party and had to move us to 1pm. I told them we would need to eat first and they stated that was not a problem at all. Well we got down there and checked in and was told we were not eating till 2pm and they wouldnt change it because they were to busy. When the kids pizza came they were supposed to get 3 and only 2 came out. They just put them on the table and left. We served the kids ourselves and then also had to go ask where their drinks were as they didnt give them any(the girl said we had to go order them some but they were supposed to come with). When I went up to the manager he said oh ya they get 3 pitchers what do you want...(not sure why all this was not gone over or asked when I got their early and placed an adult food order 1 hour in advance. The 3rd pizza came almost 10 min later. The same thing happened for the adults food, got our pizza but no nachos till over 10 min later! Had to wait in line to ask where the kids drinks were, had to wait in line to have them fix multipal issues with the lanes(enough that 1 group of kids didn't get to finnish their game(I told them they could finnish after presents but they shut off their lane 5 min into gift opening so oh well I guess). Staff was friendly but we had to do everything ourselves, find out where our food was, get our kids drinks well after their food was served, had to stand in line everytime and wait for someoe to help with our booked party :( Waisted about 30 min of our timed party waiting in line to constantly get issued resolved or help for our party. They never called to go over anything. Manager said he called me yesterday and that I answered but the connection was bad...ya I never got 1 single call the day before. Wasnt me they called, his response to all our issues was just "oh sorry". We wont be having another party there nor will be going back to just bowl with our family. It was a complete mess! read more

very sad service at the desk. Restrooms were dirty five girls behind a desk talking and on their phones instead of helping customers or cleaning in the city area. Spilt drinks, tacky floor they do not come around to make sure it is a clean place. I've been bowling for 40 years and this is probably one of the dirtiest and unprofessional staff at a bowling alley, not very good management. Worst bowling experience EVERYTIME! My most recent visit turned from a fun family activity for my stepsons 11th bday to a disappointed and wasted evening. Save yourself the frustration and money and go elsewhere. Not only do most of the lanes break every 2 bowls and you spend your paid hour waiting for a technician or any employee to care enough to help you but the disrespect that you get from the tween girl Alexis at the front makes it obvious that the low standard of professionalism is why this place has gone down hill. Once this place has your money they think they can talk to you however they want and you have to deal with it. Well no thank you. My family and I will not be returning. We prefer to drive the additional 30 minutes to Black Oak from now on. read more

Came here for a quick game with family while I was in town.(There were only six of us in total.) They assigned us lanes and then moved us twice. Once before we even started bowling and a second time in the MIDDLE of a game. All because we were there on a league night. I get that the leagues are how you make money in a small town bowling alley.. but you can't tell me you don't know how many lanes to set aside when it's a tournament night. GLC provides fun and entertainment for families in Amador and Calaveras counties, especially on the weekends. When you stay "up the hill" sometimes a drive to the city can be overwhelming and tiresome when you just want some good ol fam time. If you want to go out for a night with your significant other, or take the family out for some good times, you can get it full circle at GLC. GLC has arcade games for the kids w/ pool table, they are available for B Day parties, they serve food and have a full bar w/ pool and shuffle board, oh did I mention BOWLING!!! Lol, ok sorry. Our family of 4 went for the first time over the holiday weekend after finding out it existed. We were very pleased with the service we received. Cosmic bowling started at 6 PM and for 3 hours you can play for $14 per person. We were allowed to start a little before 6 PM and even given 2 lanes as our 8 year old required bumpers. Food is inexpensive and tasty. Couldn't ask for more since there is nothing like it in the area. read more

I'm not a bowler. Went here to watch out-of-market football on Sunday. The lounge is a nice facility, plenty of tables, 15 different kinds of draft beer at the bar. They have regulation pool tables, 3 I think, they have darts. One large and 3 smaller TVs behind the bar. Couple other big screens around the room. It seems that groups would be well accommodated here. There's only one other place in town that has the DirecTV NFL Package. By the way, the other place is Hoot'n Annies and if Dave's not there, the ladies don't know how to run the TV's... pretty sad for a sports bar. Horrible! I decided to take my daughter and niece bowling after seeing a movie, and decided to go to Gold Country Lanes because it's close to home. We go in, we pay, we get our shoes and our lane. I then go to the bar to order a drink. The bartender had a person she was serving when I walked up. That person ordered, they got their drink. The bartender went on to ask the man that was already sitting at the bar if wanted anything. Then she proceeded to make 2 drinks for him. At which point she looked at me, smiled and said, I'll be right with you. I just need to make these 2 drinks. She makes the two drinks, and another person walked up. She then helped them. And skipped over me. She did this one more time, and I started to get upset. But held my tongue. I did get my drink. But when I had an issue with a jam on my lane, the girl at the counter rolled her eyes and with attitude asked "What lane?" Like how dare I speak to her. Idk why they were that way towards me, because they weren't that way with other people there. But then again I was the only black person there, so....you tell me. It wouldn't be the first time I have dealt with discrimination and racism here. Not saying that's the case but it makes sense. Would give ZERO stars if I could. read more

This place has needed help for awhile. It needs updating. Owner is pretty passive. The staff runs that place most of the time, not him. While staff has gotten better. Sometimes its still lacking. The jr league needs more people helping them. Thats what it was suppose to be. And not cater to only the good bowlers. Also rules need to apply to everyone not just when you want to enforce them. Bathrooms need to be cleaner. Im here every week so i know. Most of the bartenders are good. Theres a new gal in there that isnt so great with making drinks. Sometimes wish the casino would of helped this place or built a new one. read more

What a joke! Had two girls wanting to go bowling. 11 and 14. Neither one are into sports so thinking bowling would be a good compromise. Also were looking for a good place to have a birthday party. Had a buy one get one game free coupon, so thought it would be a good place to cool off on a hot day. After the first several frames, I asked the attendant, (bearded fellow), if our second game could be played with bumpers up. He said, "well our policy is we only do that for ages 6-10". Really... nothing sends the message of defeat more than disappoint. What harm would the bumpers have done? They are totally off bowling and with a high score of 7 pins, feel a little deflated. Oh but wait, there's more! When I asked the bearded fellow again about the second game he said, "She already played the second game". There were two players so that counts as two games. And in your bearded wisdom, you couldn't tell me that earlier when I asked about the bumpers? Well I guess that's a no go for a birthday party for 30... maybe in your bearded wisdom, you might calculate the lost potential revenue and maybe think twice about a policy that does more harm than good... read more
