I have used them whenever I've had sep issues and they are always responsive and will remedy your problems as soon as they can. My latest experience started on a Saturday evening when the toilets in the house backed up. I called R.S. Clark, and although their trucks were full waiting to dump on Monday, they made a special trip to Sacramento to empty a truck on Sunday morning so that they could come and pump my tank. By 1 p.m. Sunday, the tank was pumped and everything was back to normal. I can't emphasize enough how great they are. Once again we needed a septic company to come out and empty our tank at the main residence this time. This company never fails to impress me as to their knowledge and expertise in the septic business. The Patriarch Ron, has raised a great son and likewise a grandson that have involved themselves in this business and have made it their priority. It's nice is know you have someone who will honestly tell you any issues and explain all situations clearly, in the country environment. Many of us do not come from the 'country' and a septic is very unfamiliar to us. I thought i needed my septic tank pumped "Ron" said that there we're two tanks ahead of me and we will get you this afternoon ~ It being a Sunday, i asked "are you sure" the reply was yes as all other companies were closed~ Shawn got here 4:15 P.M. exposed both lids on the tank and opened 1st lid closes to my house, he said the tank was not the problem, he went to his truck to get his camera and ram it towards the house, there was a belly in the line just before the tank also found massive roots ~ Shawn ran camera in 2nd compartment towards leach field, the styrene pipe was crushed and little going through to field as i have done anything in 22 years to my system nor did i know i should have ~ A lessen learnt ~ Gold Country Septic replaced both in-let and out-let pipe, pumped my tank, camera and jetted out my leach lines from a d-box,,, THANKS, Ron, Shawn, Keven, Anthony {what a crew} A word to the wise, it was all my fault, i created the problem, they fixed it... RUN AWAY!!!!!!!!! We had RS Clark Septic inspect our septic tank. The inspection cost was in line with other septic companies. However, the repair cost was not. The intake pipe was cracked and needed a repair. We have a security camera on the property, and I watched the whole time they were on our property. They (two men) were at the house 1 hour and 54 minutes, which includes driving in and out plus walking around. The actual work was done primarily by one person, which consisted of repairing approximately a foot of plastic pipe. (The materials cost would be approximately $20 or less). The workers appeared to be diligent and focused on the task. My issue is they charged $1,080. I spoke to the owner about the excessive bill, and he said, "That's what it costs" and, if I did not pay, he would withhold the inspection report, which, of course, we needed in order to sell the property. On our behalf, our real estate agent called the owner as well and ended up hanging up on him. He said, in 30 years of being in real estate, he has never seen such egregious billing practices, that, in his experience, the charge should have been in the $300 range. That's criminal. Maybe I'll contact the Attorney General. read more

Had RS Clark out on 12/11/18 for a pump of septic and drain clean out. costs $845. On 3/19/19 ( 3 months later) we called numerous times to TRY to get them back out, as our septic was overflowing and backed up again. We called numerous times and were promised calls and none were made to us. We were forced to contact a 2nd local company as we waited 5 days and heard nothing. Now we are paying another $880 + to do the exact thing again plus some as this company did not find the problem and fix it the first go round. We finally contacted the dispatch and they told us they had been "busy" all week and could not find a moment to return our calls in 5 days.This is not rocket science and these guys do not have any loyalty to their paying customers. We had a septic tank emergency this past Saturday. Toilets not flushing, etc. Called all the local companys Georgetown area, left messages on their answering machines explaining our emergency situation. By noon, no call back from anyone so called a Grass Valley company. Gold Country Septic. The owner, Ron, answered the phone himself. They were out within a few hours. A little more money as they charged for travel from Grass Valley, but the nicest people to do business with. Could not have been happier. Still have had no return phone calls from any of the more local companies, Mels, Royal and Sweet (Placerville). Would have been nice to call me Monday to make sure we no longer needed any help. We had our septic tank repaired by RS Clark/Gold Country Septic/Lazy Drains today. After 42 years we developed a blockage resulting in a sewage back up into our shower and bath tub. Not a pretty sight! While we didn't think to call RS Clark to remove the initial blockage (big mistake $), we called upon them to do the repair. They removed a four foot section of sewer drain pipe leading into the septic tank and replaced the T into the tank. They also installed a two way cleanout with a pop up overflow closer to the house. The work was professionally completed by Kevin and Trevor. They hand dug two trenches to access the drain pipe and do the repair and new installation. We could not be happier with their work, plus they were very positive while conducting themselves in a very workman like manner. We have been using RS Clark to pump our septic tank the last few times (about 7 years now). Throughout the years, Shawn has identified needed maintenance items and suggested other optional improvements (risers and discharge filter) that would make things easier in the future. We find RS Clark's service to be not only professionally performed, but also affordable. One last shout out to Ron for his diligence in attending to us as a customer by scheduling service in a timely fashion particularly when there is an urgency to the case that generated this review.
