WARNING! BAD JOB, AVOIDED ADMITTING THEIR MISTAKE, BLAMED THE CUSTOMER AND WANT TO CHARGE THE CUSTORMER FOR INCOMPLETE WORK DONE! I'm hoping this will get the owner or a supervisor's attention to contact me regarding the service I'm being charged $271+ for. Their plumber came out to fix my laundry faucets with new washers and left saying it was repaired. Within 10 days I turned off the laundry faucets to attach the wall elbows onto the machine for it to slide into its closet and close the door, only to find out that one of the faucets was STILL LEAKING. Plumber came back and said it was MY fault for turning off the fuacet???!!!??.(What are faucets for????) That the entire laundry water supply box needed to be replaced. I checked to see that the laundry water supply box replacement needed replacement and cost (high$$$) was true and neccesary then called them to see if they would compromise. They have avoided my 5 messages. Plus, I'm on a well and since I can't stop the leak my well pump is contiually working and adding to my PG&E bill. We had a very frustrating time with this plumbing company replacing our water heater. We found them to be disorganized when it came to scheduling, and found that they had a difficult time answering basic questions about our installation (I wanted the exact model of our new electric heater - and they couldn't seem to figure it out. They gave me the model number for a gas heater and I had to point out to them that the number was obviously not correct). When we finally got the new heater put in, the recirculation pump was put back incorrectly. First, they tried to tell me that it couldn't possibly be on backwards. Then, it took multiple calls because they kept telling me they'd send someone out/call me back. I cleared my schedule and waited - no one showed up, no one called to communicate anything. When they FINALLY they sent someone out - guess what! - the pump was on backwards. read more

Hot water is one of those luxuries that we don't appreciate enough. When my hot water heater suddenly stopped working and I discovered it was sitting in a pool of its own blood (rusty water), I knew I'd have some leg work to do because of the type I had. I contacted several companies to discuss my options. The office contacted me immediately to schedule and also immediately confirmed what I already knew about the type of water heater I had. They know their stuff. I had 2 other companies come out for quotes before Comfort. In a hot water crisis, it's easy to lose patience and not want to wait a day for another quote, but I'm glad I did. Comfort came out and discussed several options with me when the other companies pushed preferred options, would not offer alternatives, or could not source my type of hot water heater. In the end, we settled on what made sense and their quote came in significantly lower for comparable equipment. The install went pretty smoothly despite the technician needing to do quite of bit of retrofitting to make the new larger water heater fit the same location. There were some rough edges here and there, which I've come to expect if I want a reasonably priced service. The paperwork was somewhat old school. Sign, scan and return. But if the low overhead and minor inconvenience means they can keep prices reasonable, I am happy to do it. It took over a week to get me on the schedule, but this was clearly communicated up front. What this means to me is they don't have any techs that are just waiting in reserve as that requires a lot more overhead, which means higher prices. I wasn't pleased with the delay, but I accept it as a new normal for service-based businesses. The tech was 1 hour late on install day because he couldn't get the equipment at the closest supplier. He called ahead and it didn't impact the overall project timeline, but I can't help but wonder what happens if, like the other companies I contacted, the equipment I needed wasn't available at all. In the end, I still give them 5 stars for knowledge, communication, price, and quality of service, Will use them again if needed. read more

Matt of Comfort Air provided a reasonable quote & we decided to go ahead with installation of a Navien tankless water heater. Matt removed our existing 14 yr. old Navien tankless water heater, we had a noise problem with the tankless because it was mounted incorrectly by the original contractor. Matt did a GREAT job mounting our new unit - it's quiet, we can't tell when it's on, and it's mounted on a post in our basement below our master bedroom. We had our water heater stop working on Friday 10/23. I called Comfort at 11 AM and Kathy said she'd definitely have someone out that day. The plumber, Matt was out of cell range so she kept me updated hourly. Matt showed up about 3 PM , wearing a mask & sociail distancing, diagnosed the problem, relit the pilot and ordered a new thermostat assembly. There was a PG&E power outage from that Sunday until Tuesday night. Kathy called Wednesday at 9:30 and Matt would be out about 2 PM and he showed up as scheduled and installed the new thermostat assembly. I couldn't ask for better service!!!! read more

I've called Comfort Plumbing at least 10 times over the last few years. We have a three story1895 Victorian downtown in Nevada City, and a newer flat we're renting nearby off Grove St. They've handled everything. They've tightened or replaced leaky sink and toilet pipes, adjusted 3 running toilets to fill and flush properly, replaced a shower valve, put in a new high end kitchen faucet and got down in the trenches replacing a sprinkler valve and cutting and replacing rusted old irrigation pipe. They are a busy team, but prioritize based on our availability and urgency. Cathy is a good listener and takes my information and reviews her jobs for the day and the week and let's me know when they can come by to do the job right. They give a time window and stick to it and call to keep me informed. Don't hesitate to leave a message. Often they can come sooner. She has a great team of plumbers to choose from for the job. I usually enjoy Matt's practical advice and solid work. I trust them with anything water. I think their pricing is fair for the quality of work and piece of mind they offer. I loved working with this company from beginning to end. We just moved into a new house and brought our old BBQ with us, which only works with natural gas. Because of that, we needed to run a new supply like from the main pipe, out to the deck where the BBQ is.
