Our experience from start to finish was absolutely amazing! My boys were eager to try this activity during our trip to Alaska, so I did some research and initially found another spot. However, we got a bit lost and stumbled upon this place instead -- and I'm so glad we did! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making us feel right at home. We opted for the $20 panning experience and had an absolute blast sifting through dirt to find tiny gold pebbles, which we got to take home as a keepsake. There's also a charming souvenir store with plenty of cute items. All in all, it was a fantastic and memorable experience!

Loved panning for gold here! For $20 you get a bag of dirt that is guaranteed to have some gold flakes in it. You can also choose to pay for 2 other higher price options that give you bags with a chance of bigger pieces of gold. When you first arrive, they give you an orientation on how to pan for gold. Then you can dig through a big pile of dirt on your own and practice your panning technique before you try your $20 bag. My family stayed for a couple hours because we were having so much fun. I found it therapeutic and peaceful to swirl and dip my pan in the water, and have even figured out how to spot the gold on my own after a couple hours of practice! The ladies that work there are always walking around and ready to help you if you need assistance with looking for gold in your pan. It has some older relics there that you can look at, and there are tour buses that come and go with groups, and stay for about 30 minutes. But if you go there on your own, you can stay and open as long as you want - all day if you choose to! A definite must stop if you're in the Fairbanks area!

Shainia and Roman were beyond helpful getting every bit out of our bag of gold! They answered our endless questions with ease and finesse! Highly recommend this experience even though we didn't leave rich. Don't forget to ask about the greatest member of the team, Nugget.

A nice souvenir to take away

Had a great time on my recent trip to Fairbanks - fun staff (Thanks, Lydia!). If you are looking for a little taste of the gold rush experience, stop on by!

I would highly recommend this place - it is located just a few miles from downtown Fairbanks and right across the street from the Alaskan pipeline. It is a small family owned and operated gold panning business. Erica and Roman were great instructors and we found gold! It's $20 to enter and pan all day and/or you can purchase guaranteed bags of dirt. You can turn your gold flakes into jewelry which is what my niece and I did. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours in Fairbanks!

If your looking to find gold then this is the place to go! Gold daughters know how to make you have gold fever. You can buy bags of dirt ranging from $20-$10,000 guaranteed to have gold flakes and nuggets. There is even a giant pile of dirt outback where you can pan for free and find gold! I felt like a real prospector at gold daughters and definitely got the gold fever.

During our visit to Alaska we stopped at Gold daughters to learn how to pan for gold. We had a group of 8 and had such a great time. We had a staff member named Erica that was totally awesome. She was very patient, kind, and fun. She made our day very entertaining and fun.

This was a great stop on our Alaskan adventure. Erica was a great help in making sure we found every last piece of gold. We loved having the opportunity to practice with the extra dirt and we even found some extra flakes. Our pay dirt bags were very rewarding. The prices in the gift shop were very reasonable.

Best place in Fairbanks to try your hand at gold panning. The staff is incredibly kind and helpful- Eden, Leah, Erica & Cassie were fabulous. We got several pieces off an admission bag, upgraded to a bigger bag and found 3 sizeable nuggets. You can stay all day and pan out of the pile- we found a few flakes and a nugget in the pile!

I never thought I would have so much fun gold panning. The girls there were all so helpful and demonstrated how to effectively pan for gold multiple times for me lol. I was able to get out of there with some gold and a lot of knowledge. Tons of fun and totally recommend !

I've come to find out that Fairbanks isn't rife with a lot of activity. I would think their main…read moredraw is the Aurora, which unfortunately was not active nor in season during our visit. That being said, it's nice to check out the ice museum and what it had to offer. Since o got the combo package of the ice museum combined with the aurora show, I'll separate them in the review. The ice museum part of it comes with a roughly 15 minute video that takes about ice sculpting; a little history so to speak. Similar to other reviewers, the video does leave a lot to be desired. The idea is fine, but execution is poor. The video is TERRIBLE quality. It's 2023... they could do better than 120p or 240p. It's actually kind of embarrassing really. So just power through that until they update it. Afterwards, you're escorted to the actual museum, which is an assortment of ice sculptures. I urge you to taper your expectations and you'll have a good time. It's not incredibly massive, but there is a decent amount. I liked Andy's (the ice sculptor) enthusiasm and you can tell there is passion in what he sculpts. He functions as a photographer if you want group/couple pictures. I particularly love toe slide since it's pretty fun to go down. Made me feel like a kid again. Also don't worry about not having a jacket as they definitely can provide you with one. It ends with actual demonstration of him sculpting in an observation room. It's really cool to see the process in action. Pretty cool (no pun intended). The Aurora show was unique in that it highlights the beautiful photography of Zimmerman combined with classical music. Don't worry the quality is a lot better (although not the best) than the ice sculpture video). It gives a short history of Zimmerman before showcasing his work. It is beautiful and showcases the aurora borealis in different forms.it is pretty mellow and calming, which could lead some to dozing off (I did a little), but definitely appreciated the art behind it. Overall, it's definitely something to do if you're in the city. I don't think it's too expensive, but many may not see the value. If you like ice sculptures, check this place out!

This is a FREE museum that was recommended by our local rideshare driver and offers a bit of history of Alaska and dog sledding. Sure, it's small and a bit run down, but it's got character.
