[that was admitting that he knew it was the wrong thing to do and would make the issue bad, them he basically stole money for them doing it. [yes i think when you know u screwed up and then charge someone thier hard earned money, stealing!] I'm very very disappointed in the business and in the fact they didn't at least offer the good faith payment back to us, as a refund..., instead they let car sit there for another 3 days, and did nothing to make it better, and when asked about refund to at least make the payment part right .. they refused and basically threatened to add more charges, making more back story as used car salesman do! It's obvious your dealing with a used car salesman. Sad we Had went to them in good faith, paid them in in good faith and gave them the opportunity to fix what they broke OR give US refund, they refused to do any of the above. Everywhere we called said they couldn't fit us in for a few days but Jim, who was about to close for the day, said he would stay there until we arrived to try to help. He was there to greet us and help get us back on the road as soon as possible. And instead of taking advantage of our desperation, we had to beg him to let us pay him because he was just genuinely trying to help us! As awful as the temperatures were and the unbearable smoky air, most people would have gone home to escape the conditions. Jim put his comfort and afternoon aside to help a few strangers and for that we are unbelievably grateful! Great work and wish we lived closer. The locals (and travelers) have a great repair shop on their hands!

I had triple A tow my car to Star on 10/27/25. I gave them a call in advance and let them know I would be sending it there and stated what had happened. For full context, I was exiting the free way in central point there was a small box in the middle of the road and I had not choice but to slow down and go over it. My car being an Alfa Romeo Giulia sits low and something was pulled out of the bottom of my car and it immediately lost all power steering. I was able to pull to the side at the very end of the ramp. No body damage at all, car was still drivable but no power steering. The tow truck drivers were able to drive it into the flatbed themselves. Zach from Star automotive s initial quote 10/27/25 totaled $10,054.53. See pic and note Quote 1. (This quote will dramatically change once insurance adjuster is involved) 4 quotes later, 2 subcontracted dealerships, a broken fuel module that made my car completely underivable, and no answers from Zach or Austin about what happened. The insurance claims adjuster, the service manager in Portland and the technicians all agree in writing that my car was not drivable when it was brought in and that someone clearly damaged the fuel module brought the car in with zero fuel, and then tried to cover it up ...the technician stated "it was hanging off when I saw it". Zach blamed this entire incident on a recall. Once again in writing the alfa Romeo dealership states this was not possible. I did not accuse Zach or Star right away when I was presented with all the evidence and facts...I called Zach and sent him the email from the service manager who he spoke with and checked my car in with. I simply wanted an answer, and a solution to this issue. It's Friday 4:47pm 2/27/26 my car is 246 miles away one way. The additional cost is $1113.31. I just wanted my car back. When I went down to Star after my phone call with Zach to simply discuss this in person...they said Paul is on vacation and that there was nothing they could do for me. I said I wanted to believe Zach wouldn't take advantage of me knowing how hard things were already finically ....Austin and Zach made many excuses that were not only unreasonable and impractical explanations for this incident but Austin then proceeded to yell at me and threatened to call the police on me. To the owner Paul...I know you are not aware of any of this, and from one business owner to another I am truly sorry this is what your employees are doing behind your back representing your business. I could have chosen a statefarm preferred shop, but due to my past experiences with Star, Dave specifically when he was there I chose your shop. Paul please contact me regarding this matter. I do have more documents and a video of my encounter with Zach and Austin this evening if you'd like to see to give you a full perspective. I will not upload all the documents, videos I have at the moment I will leave a thorough review in full after this claim has been closed out. I look forward to our conversation Paul and I have high hopes that you will make this disappointing situation right. One week later, same issues arise. My car barely made it to CT Auto as they were closing. Charlie stayed late to run codes and get me on his schedule. I ended up having multiple things wrong with my car that the other shop chose not to find. He was very technically detailed in his explanations of the issues and repair that needed to be done and my car was ready the day he estimated it to be done. Being a female, I always wonder if im being taken advantage by mechanics but I got a great feeling from Charlie right way and I'm happy with his work and my experience was very positive! We trusted Pennzoil Oil Stop with our truck, and it turned into a nightmare. They installed non-OEM…read moreparts in our transmission, claiming they "stand by their work." Unfortunately, the filter they put in slipped and fell onto the oil pan, causing our transmission to completely fail. We were left with a $7,000 repair bill to replace the transmission. When we brought this to their attention--referencing the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act they even advertise on their website--they took zero responsibility. Instead of standing behind their service, they left us with the damage and the cost. We always try to support local shops, but when a business does you dirty like this, it's just wrong. We stood behind them as a customer, but in the end, we got the short end of the stick. If you value your vehicle and your money, think twice before trusting this shop.

The problem remained unknown and I was ultimately referred to Bridge Street Auto. I appreciated the transparency and communication regarding the diagnostics, problems found and the cost of repairs. In the course of the work, there were some parts that could benefit being replaced, and I was consulted about any 'new' item that came up that we hadn't previously discussed. Within a week or so I had my truck back, running smoothly again, and at a cost that was honest and fair. I have been driving the truck regularly and I have Bridge Street Auto to thank!
